Sagamore House Rental Photos and Description

Cape Cod Oceanfront - 3BR/2BA with Private Beach on Sagamore Beach/Sandwich

The house and beach are in a great location along Sagamore Beach, which is a hidden treasure on the Sandwich/Bourne line on Cape Cod. Phillips Road is a cul-de-sac just North of the entrance to the Canal and just south of the beautiful White Cliffs. The beach in front of the house is privately owned and about 20 steps from the deck. It is soft and sandy near the dunes and firm and great for walking near the water.

In addition to enjoying being on the water (cookouts/drinks on the deck, swimming, beach volleyball, bocci, fishing, etc.), there's lots to do from this location, including:

- taking a walk up the beach to the cliffs or down the beach to the canal entrance and the Scusset Beach State Reservation

- taking a short walk or bike ride to the end of Phillips Rd (1.5 miles) and then onto the service road along on the Canal which is a 7 mile long recreational paved road where people walk/bike/jog/roller-blade

- there's a park .8 miles from the house with tennis/basketball courts, playground, baseball/lacrosse field, etc.

- there's a public boat ramp at the north end of Phillips Road in Bourne

The house is a quaint 3 Bedroom (1300 sq ft) with a 3 season porch, wrap around deck overlooking the ocean, and upgraded bathrooms. There are 2 queen beds, a full bed, a pull out couch, so it can sleep 8. There are 2 full bathrooms and a washer/dryer. The kitchen has fairly new appliances including dishwasher, microwave, etc. We just acquired the property in May 2015 and have been adding lots of amenities inside (WiFi, appliances, air conditioning), a hammock that sits in the dunes overlooking the ocean, and an outdoor shower!

Please note that we do not list our home on Craigslist. If you see an add there, it's not genuine.

You will not find a better vacation spot right on the beach on a quiet dead end road. From the moment we pulled onto the beachy sea-windswept Phillips Road, we knew we had made the right choice. The house is located directly on the beach, and both bedrooms have windows overlooking the ocean. We left the windows open so we could hear the waves. In the mornings it was fabulous to be able to walk out onto the beach to look for shells with the kids, without getting in the car. If you have kids, this is the ONLY way to stay at the beach. There were a million sand toys, kids game, beach chairs, and umbrella for guest use. The hammock in the photos is really right on the beach and was a nice place to relax. A table and chairs for 4 outside on the patio was a nice place to have dinner after washing off in the fabulous outdoor shower. There were a lot of nice appliances in the kitchen including an ice cream maker and ice maker but we just brought prepared foods that we reheated on the grill or gas stove.

This home was very clean and tidy, with minimal "breakable" stuff so it was perfect for our family of 6 (kids all under age 9) and my parents. There are window A/Cs in each room but we did not use them. We brought our bikes, and biked to the Sagamore Rail Trail at the end of the road. You can ride this paved bike path for miles and miles and it travels along the scenic canal. The quiet location just near the Sagamore Bridge was perfect, as we ventured into the crowded Cape for day trips, as well as up to Plymouth and out to Edaville / Thomasland Amusement Park for day trips. We found a great ice cream place (Shipwreck?) on the other side of the bridge that was open until 10PM, and was only a few minutes away. Everyone was sad to leave.

The owner was fabulous to deal with, from calling us the morning of our arrival to make sure everything was ok, to offering to let us stay an extra day at no charge (yes! it's true!) which we sadly could not take advantage of due to preexisting plans. If our family does not grow any more, we will be back! Enjoy your stay - you can't go wrong staying at this classic relaxed beach home.

Perfect Family House on the Beach

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I, three kids between 6 and 11, and in-laws just had a perfect vacation on the Cape. Staying at John's house turned out to be the absolute right decision.

It was a well-maintained charming older house with new amenities. In fact, the kitchen was probably better stocked with plates, glasses, utensils and all kinds of kitchen gadgets than our own kitchen at home. It was thoughtfully decorated with a beach theme. The linens and towels were high quality. The new outdoor shower was convenient. Taking advantage of the giant outdoor gas grill, we had a couple of grilled dinners which everybody enjoyed tremendously. There was also a large selection of beach toys, beach chairs and even board games such as Monopoly available.

Being right on the beach proved to be invaluable for a family with young children. We hopped in and out of the beach whenever we felt like it. The beach is private and there were only very few people using it. The sand was powdery soft and clean. The water was shallow and pristine. The children swam, surfed the waves, and caught many sea snails and crabs. The hammock was the favorite place for adults.

There was a Stop&Shop less than 20 minutes drive away for all your shopping needs and there were also several seafood restaurants in Sandwich and Bourne. Being on the other side of the Sagamore bridge means no worrying about the bridge traffic at all. We drove to Boston and Plymouth and everyone got history lessons.

John was extremely responsive. He sent out a very detailed guide of the house before the trip and checked in with us during our stay. Overall, we could not have been happier with our experience and we will definitely recommend John's house to friends and relatives.

I went for a week with my family and it was such a beautiful house. The view was amazing. Knowing you could walk out your door straight to the beach was the best. The house was decorated beautifully felt like home. Already planning my trip next year!

Perfect family beach getaway!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I and our 4 young children were desperate for a low key beach getaway. We could not have found a better spot! The house was great, with many new appliances (my wife loved them so much she recently re-fitted our home with many of the same amenities!). There are beach toys, lots of chairs etc as well as Internet access and cable TV. Really every detail has been thought of to ensure a wonderful experience. The highlight is definitely the location. We were not familiar with this beach and envisioned a typical New England rocky coast. What we got was a home literally right on the beach with nothing but sand between us and the water. It was nicer than some beaches we've been to in Mexico! During our stay there were very few beach goers and at some points we had the entire beach to ourselves. The kids had a great time playing in the sand, finding shells, and rescuing starfish! John, the owner wad great to work with and communicated with us prior to our stay to ensure we had a great stay. Look no further - book it!

Pure Heaven

  • 5 of 5

The beach house was exactly what is offered by Mr. LaMalva. Private, beautiful white sandy beach, the house has everything a family could need during their stay. The house was very clean and bright with just the right beachy feel. Mr. LaMalva checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We highly recommend this property to anyone with kids or a couple that wants a wonderful time on the beach. We will definitely do this again!!!

What a great Beach house!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This beach house was great!! It had everything you could possibly need. Not too fancy, so you really felt comfortable and at home. The beach was right out the back door! We rented this house to take our elderly parents (85 & 86) and they just loved it. My Dad watched the ships enter the Cape Cod Canal in the distance on a breezy afternoon. The outdoor shower is awesome and whatever you do bring, there is NO NEED for a beach chair and I think they have about 50!! Ownere was so nice and helpful, no matter what/when I called. We hope to go back next year!!
