Having come over from Scotland for a Canadian holiday, we spent a wonderful 2 weeks at this lovely lakeside house. It is well set up with everything you need, including fishing equipment and 2 kayaks as well as a canoe. The kids (9 and 11 years) just loved messing about in and on the water. You can enjoy the sunset over the water from the veranda whilst sipping your G & T (or any of the wines from the many vineries in the area). The house is well situated for exploring Prince Edward County and its only about 30 minutes by car to Sandbanks Provincial Park.
Highly recommended. Just a shame it is so far away from Scotland...
My husband & I and our dog just returned from this beautiful property. Initially I was a bit concerned about not having WiFi access. That turned out to be such a blessing. We actually left our laptops behind and were able to enjoy the incredible views and each other without the constant barrage of the internet. I would have my cup of coffee near the dock each morning and my glass of wine there each night. Sunsets were incredible. My husband fished (caught & released several bass) on the same dock. He was a happy camper!! Make sure to check out the County Cider Company. Great food & location. Walked a few trails in Sand Dune Park- again beautiful views & pleasant, unhurried times. Enjoyed just driving around the area, stopping at the many little cottage-industry type shops (woodworking, crafts, food stuffs, wineries). Met many, many very kind residents of the area who gave us all sorts of recommendations for sight seeing, restaurants, etc. The cottage had everything you need to be quite comfortable. The owners were a pleasure to work with and available if we needed anything. Would definitely stay here again. I was actually relaxed when this vacation was over....that rarely happens!
My husband and I, our 5 month old son and our dog stayed here last summer and I only just realized I never reviewed this property! We absolutely fell in love with the area. So much to see and do, and at the end of the day you get to come home to the quietest lakefront property I've ever been to. We didn't even see one boat go by the entire week, it was so peaceful. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and it was nice being able to bring our dog too! Something must have been in the air because this was the week that our son started sleeping through the night. Yay! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay at your vacation home, we made memories that will last us a lifetime.
This is a great cottage to stay with family or friends. We have enjoyed three vacations at this property in three consecutive years. We have stayed for one week each time. The cottage is very clean and well stocked with games. It has a great back deck with a beautiful view of the water and amazing sunsets. We always have a lot of fun taking the boats out on the water, hanging out on the dock, or kicking a soccer ball around on the grass. The cottage also provides easy access to wineries, fresh local food, the nearby towns of Picton and Bloomfield and the beautiful beaches at Sandbanks. We've had three wonderful vacations at the cottage and we can't wait to go back next year.
My husband ,2 girls & our Black Lab LOVED our stay @ this cottage. Very clean cottage ,comfortable, well maintained grounds, huge deck , great dock for sitting ,watching the sun rise or set & of course for throwing a ball & having our dog fetch it. Canoe & Kayaks were fun to use & an experience.A week well spent & very relaxing. Close to SandBanks & other beach areas .Short distance to grocery stores & local sight seeing. CANNOT say one bad thing about this cottage or area.So happy we went. Hope to go again next year!!
Great deck, great view with great sunsets. Large dock with good fishing. Nicely kept property and very private. We slept very well and comfortably with the central air. The owners were very nice, accommodating and helpful. You really get what is promised. I'm definitely coming back next year. I would recommend this place to anyone!
