We are all season outdoor adventurers. We love hiking, backpacking, nordic and downhill skiing, street and mountain biking, boating, and fishing. We discovered Seward back in '05 and found the scenery and friendly people irresistible.
Steve and Pati Hinds purchased this house in 2006
We built this home in 2006. A simple and functional floor plan on our 3 acre property. It's a quiet rural neighborhood with lots of open space on the edge of the Alaskan Wilderness.
When staying at our house you have access to free fire wood, extra clothing (if needed), rubber boots , sleeping bags and pads, and even bear spray!
Had a great time in Seward. House was clean & comfortable, firepit added extra since we were able,to,have a bonfire two of three nights. Would stay here again if in the area.
We had a great stay at the Alaska View Lodge - the calming sound of the creek along with the view is fabulous. We had a couple of eagles in a tree near by the first night we stayed while we enjoyed the fire that Steve had started for us. Steve is extremely friendly and was full of helpful fishing advise; he even shared some of his own fish with us to enjoy. Cabin is great with a bathroom in/near each bedroom. (log bed could stand a new mattress; we cozied up in the middle a bit). Staying at the cabin made our Seward visit even more enjoyable!
Everything about our stay was perfect. The cabin was clean and equipped with pretty much everything you would need for an Alaskan getaway. Firepit, a selection of clean flannels and jackets to borrow if it's chilly, lawn chairs, childrens and adults books, DVDs, a pack-n-play for the little ones, a well equipped kitchen, plenty of linens, a washer and dryer, comfy beds, and big windows for wildlife watching. We traveled with 4 adults and 4 children ages 9 to 18 months. We even got to watch a momma moose and her baby stroll past. Everyone had a blast and we would definitely stay here again!
4 of us traveled to Alaska for the 1st time and we enjoyed our stay at the cabin very much. It had everything we needed to prepare meals, kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, place was very quiet, and at the end we were able to do out laundry. What more do we need! We had a very comfortable stay.
Thank you Patti!
The property was perfect. There was a total number of 5 of us staying and the property worked perfect. Every detail you can think of was taking care of. We needed to do some laundry and there was soap and other small things that help make a vacation perfect. Steve came over and got a fire going so we could make smores. The property was clean and in a perfect location. The kids loved the move collection and got to relax after a long day of sight seeing. I would definitely recommend this property and would absolutely stay again. The only disappointing thing was that we didn't get to stay longer. Steve is a wonderful host and very accommodating.
We stayed at Steve's house July 1-4, 2016 before our Alaska cuise. The house had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.
The house was well stocked with cooking utensils and condiments. So we made hot breakfast every morning.
The wifi was very important for us, since our phones did not have data access in the region. The location was close to town, supermarket and restaurants, so it was very convenient for us. There were also lots of nature trails close by for hiking.
The best part was the backyard. It had a Glacier stream in the backyard. From there, we could see snow covered mountain peeks. There were two fire rings in the backyard. Steve provided us with firewood, newspapers, matches, and marshmallow sticks. He and his friend Henry offered to help us make a camp fire. Our children had tons of fun roasting marshmallows and hot dogs.
Overall, we have been very satisfied with our stay and would highly recommend the house to everyone. We will definitely come back if we visit the region again.
