We are all season outdoor adventurers. We love hiking, backpacking, nordic and downhill skiing, street and mountain biking, boating, and fishing. We discovered Seward back in '05 and found the scenery and friendly people irresistible.
Steve and Pati Hinds purchased this house in 2006
We built this home in 2006. A simple and functional floor plan on our 3 acre property. It's a quiet rural neighborhood with lots of open space on the edge of the Alaskan Wilderness.
When staying at our house you have access to free fire wood, extra clothing (if needed), rubber boots , sleeping bags and pads, and even bear spray!
We found this property to be clean and comfortable. We liked that it was in a very quiet and dark location. The owner was friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
My husband and I from NH, daughter, son in law and 19 mo. old grandson from Maine and daughter who lives in Girdwood AK stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. The lodge is really nice and exceptionally clean. Linens and towels were provided which was a big plus. Steve is a sweetheart and made us a great fire our first night. The views are fabulous and really enjoyed the fire pit. Would love to stay there again when we come to visit our daughter. Thank you for opening up your home to us. I'm sorry that I didn't have time to write in the book but will send a letter and hopefully can be pasted in. It really is a piece of Heaven:)

We stayed as a family of 5 in this cabin. It was very clean and roomy. There was plenty of room for the 3 kids to sleep in one room with myself and my husband in the other room. We enjoyed walking out to the river behind the house and walking down to the other creek. Kitchen was great. Steve was around if we needed anything, but not enough to be in our business. He built a bon fire for us one night and we made smors. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at this cabin. Not a long drive to the harbor fishing. Wonderful view of the glacier and nice to be on the water. Steve started a bin fire our first night and it was nice to sit outside by it. Great place for our family of 5. Enjoyed the kitchen. We would definently stay here again!
Although we did not stay in this rental, we stayed in the renter's own home next door, which he agreed to vacate when he heard that 4 of us seniors were stranded (secondary to another owner's snafu!) with nowhere to stay in Seward and everything booked!!! Steve is an unbelievably hospitable gentleman and went out of his way. Should we be fortunate enough to return to Seward, we would not hesitate to rent from him. Susan and Charles, Seattle
The house was very clean, well stocked and in a beautiful location just feet from a creek. The owner lives next door and is an amazing - friendly and helpful host! This is a wonderful property that I would recommend to anyone.
