My family and I just enjoyed our first Vermont vacation. We all agree that Jeff and Deanna's lake house was the perfect choice. This 3 story house offers immense natural lighting and picturesque views of the snow covered lake and surrounding landscape. There are a few local stores but local restaurants are about a 20 minute drive, but well worth it. We dined at Moog's Place, 10 Railroad Street, and Lost Nation Brewery too name a few, all fantastic. This area is loaded with fantastic food, unique craft beers and incredible local wine.
If you are planning a ski vacation, this house is conveniently located near 3 resorts. However, we recommend Smuggler's Notch. Smuggler's is a bit less crowded and very fairly priced. Besides skiing, this area offers many other activities such as zip lining, horseback riding and snowmobiling.
And finally, from the time we inquired about possibly booking to the end of our vacation, Jeff and Deanna were very helpful and friendly.
We had such a fantastic vacation!
Thank you for your hospitality :)
My husband and I stayed here for my 40th birthday. We were looking for a relaxing, cozy place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and that was our experience. It snowed while we were there which made the scenery that much more beautiful. We enjoyed sitting in front of the fire and being right on the water - it was beautiful. We had breakfast at the Charlmont and dinner @ 10 Railroad Street - very good meals and service. We had a wonderful time - Thank you Jeff and Deanna
This was our second stay at Jeff and Deanna's place. We, again, had the pleasure of spreading out (from a 1 bedroom apt.) and enjoyed relaxing in our own worlds! Saturday night we returned from a rainy soccer game and loooong drive to a cozy home and had the thrill of watching the snow come down while we sat next to the fire! We didn't even mind the blown transformer and few hours without power. Hardly knew it because we were disconnected, only the green flash of the transformer blowing alerted us. Even with clouds and few leaves, the fantastic views of Lake and Mountains makes this a great getaway. It truly take us to another, gentler, natural world! Thanks to Jeff and Deanna for letting us have that experience.
this was our first time using this service and booking a vacation, the information was accurate and timely. In addition the pictures provided made it an easy selection. The home was beautiful and well stocked, we wanted for nothing. The Neighborhood was quite and peaceful. Relaxing with fishing rod in hand off the dock was exactly what I was looking for. Enjoying the property with my brother and his wife was great, we both had separate areas for sleeping and our own bathroom so we didn't keep each other awake. Certainly made it easier getting ready in the morning to head out to the local attractions. Relaxing by the water with a camp fire and making S'mores was great , brought back childhood memories. I will be recommending this property to both relatives and friends that might need a getaway. We are looking forward to next year already. Thanks again Jeff and Deanna for sharing you home with us. Much needed and Appreciated.
This was just the perfect romantic getaway! I cannot say enough about this lovely home. Jeff and Deanna have put so much love and attention into their retreat. It was so peaceful, from the early morning rooster crowing to the gorgeous evening sky, this spot was perfect. We enjoyed the lakeside firepit very much. From beginning to end it was an idyllic retreat. The home has absolutely everything you would need, and more. We have already started thinking about when we can return! Thank you Jeff and Deanna once again!
We were looking for a place to relax where we would have access to a lake and had a wonderful time here. The house was very clean, comfortable, and spacious with windows and decks looking out onto the water. The kitchen was well-equipped and the patio outside was a lovely place to have breakfast. The host was very responsive, kind, and professional. We enjoyed swimming and hanging out on the dock and spent one afternoon making a trip to nearby Stowe. We would definitely come again. Thank you again to Jeff and Donna!
Located on Lake Eden with direct access to the lake with private 100ft frontage. The drive is a private road and quiet. Located 30 minutes to Stowe, Smugglers notch and Jay Peak Ski Resorts.
During the Summer months there are several activities within 30 minutes of the house.
The Abortrek Zip line at Smugglers notch is a fun afternoon of zipping through the trees. The new Indoor Waterpark at Jay Peak is great day of waterpark fun from the lazy river to the giant slide.
If a little closer to nature is what you are looking for than maybe a Kayak Tour by Umiak Outfitters on the local river. If a little excersice is ok, try our personnel favorites, hiking some of the best terrain anywhere, Camels Hump and Mt. Mansfield not to mention some great 2-4 hr. local hikes on the long trail.
