When you contact me, please let me know what brings you to Sonoma County. I will do what I can to match your needs with our house.
Large, quiet home between Sebastopol and Forestville and right above Graton. It is 10 minutes away from the Russian River wine country. Lovely and large stone patio in the backyard looks out upon the horses. This house is very popular for family reunions, families on vacation with children, animal lovers, and people visiting the area for special events such as weddings and graduations.
Four bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully appointed kitchen, inviting living room and a large, open back yard full of birds. The master bedroom includes its own, remodeled bathroom with tile shower. Two of the other three bedroom include queen beds and the last bedroom has two twin beds. There are also a queen sized inflatable beds if you so choose.
The kitchen opens out onto the back stone patio and yard. There is a barbecue under the redwood tree. A wide variety of birds make their rounds through the yard.
Friendly goats and chickens on the property add to country feel. In the summer, a large vegetable garden out front. Staying in this vineyard bordered house give you the authentic feel of what Sonoma County has to offer.
Along the side of the house is a large corral with two milking goats and their babies. Depending on the season, we offer you fresh goat's milk, eggs, and vegetables from the garden.
A caretaker lives next door. She is available to assist you in any way.
What is fascinating about this part of Sonoma County is the constant evolution of food and wineries. Just within a few mile radius there are several renowned wineries. Graton and Sebastopol both offer a wide range of culinary and shopping opportunities.
From a recreational standpoint, there are many beautiful bike rides, some on roads, some off-road and some on dedicated bike paths. The Russian River is nearby with all the water activities it is famous for. Armstrong Grove has its 1,000 year old trees to roam around and explore. Santa Rosa, home of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, has a wonderful ice skating rink left to us by Charles Shultz himself.
People have visited our house for a variety of reason: vacation, Russian River, wine country, weddings, Bodega Bay, visit children at Sonoma State University, family reunions. When you inquire into our property, please let me know what brings you to the area. We find it gratifying to know all the wonderful reason people are enjoying our house.
The house rents for $225 per night for up to 6 people, $250 for 7 people, and $275 for 8 people. We cannot accommodate groups larger than 8 people. There is a two night minimum charge. Please check calendar for availability.

I am a bilingual math teacher and father of an 14 year old boy. We live in San Francisco. I grew up in this Sebastopol house. My favorite activities include water sports, kempo karate, and skiing with my son. I spend as much time as possible in Sonoma County because I find it so beautiful and interesting.
Glenn Kenyon purchased this house in 1973
I love Sonoma County. I love the Russian River area, Sebastopol and the coast. I love riding my bike around the area and discovering new restaurants and wineries. I also love just hanging out on our property, watching the birds and relaxing under the redwood tree I planted nearly 40 years ago.
This house is in a wonderful location. It is 5 minutes from Sebastopol in one direction and 5 minutes from the Russian River in the other. Right in front of our house is Mom's Apple Pies, a restaurant and bakery founded by the mother of one of my high school classmates. And the garden that our caretaker puts in each summer is amazing.
We had a wonderful time at the Sebastopol House last week. The weather was ideal and the location was central to our interests. My son, Kenyon Lorbati and daughter, Amy Lorbati, joined us for a relaxing and fun get-together. We visited Occidental, Guerneville, Healdsberg, Bodega Bay, Armstrong State Forest, and several times, Sebastopol. Shopping and wine-tasting filled in any spare time not spent reading, writing, drawing, chatting or just resting in the hammock. The beds were comfy and we slept well with the cool nights.
We enjoyed great food in area restaurants and grilled outside for 3 of our dinners at home. I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen as we cooked meals together. The garden, chickens, sunflowers and stable added to the fun. Cecilia was friendly and helpful. Her gift of fresh eggs provided the best breakfast scramble we’d ever had. We returned the favor to the chickens as we ate lots of veggies and fruit and rewarded the hens (and rooster) with scraps. My niece and family (2 teenagers) stayed Friday and Saturday night. The boys and adults had a great time playing cards and games, and making S’mores at night.
We all fell in love with the little black kitten.
This was my first time using HomeAway, finding the place was easy. The house was clean, and wonderful to stay in. Thanks!
Very nice property with a homey feel. Large kitchen with dining area and and a welcoming living room. House was clean and well-equipped with essentials needed for a stay. Lots of seating space outside, although it was too cold for us to use them on our visit. The friendly goats and the chickens were a nice touch. Location is great, on a main road but set back so it is quiet, and the place gives you a sense of being away from it all but it is a great base for a Sonoma wine tasting tour. But there's a coffee an pastry shop just across the street and grocery stores and other facilities 5 min away. I'd easily return.
Glenn is a very accommodating host. His little goat farm is just outside Sebastopol and right in the middle of wine country. Easily sleeps eight people. Great if you are attending an event at Vine Hill House, which we were. Not upscale, but very clean, comfortable, convenient and a good value. Thanks again!
excellent stay! however we would expect few things as a staples: toilet paper, paper towels, shower soap, storage bags, the coffee carafe needs to be the correct size.
we appreciated the fans-- the house cooled down quickly. even though there is no air conditioning the combination of the fans and the cooling unit worked fine.
we would certainly return. we were here for a wedding at Griffith woods--only minutes away....
The property is beautiful and we (8 of us!) enjoyed the garden and hot tub. The house is quite spacious and it was nice to have a washer and dryer. Mom's Apple Pies is across the street, though it doesn't open until 10am - pie for lunch instead of breakfast! The roosters were very loud the first morning and woke all of us early with continued crowing. The next couple mornings they were quieter. Light sleepers will want ear plugs. The kitchen had everything we needed, though you have to keep an eye on the coffee pot so the water doesn't spill over. Bath towels were thin, but the bathrooms were large and we always had hot water. The house was clean and close to many fun outings for us (Armstrong Redwoods, Johnson Beach, Paradise Ridge Winery, shopping in Sebastopol and Santa Rosa). The owner was very responsive and the caretaker lives next door. We would definitely rent this house again!
We enjoyed a weekend stay here while attending a wedding nearby. Other than some rickety kitchen drawers we had no real complaints. The people in our group under 3 years and over 60 loved the chickens and crowing roosters; the thirty-somethings, not so much. The weather was beautiful and cool in mornings and evenings and hot during the day, necessitating sitting under the large redwoods in the rear. Lots of shaded outdoor seating provided a great venue for a picnic. Beds were comfortable and the house was very clean.
Interactions with owner were all prompt and courteous. We would recommend this property to anyone who likes a rural setting not too far from town.
There are many small wineries in the immediate area, as well as small restaurants to try out. Across the street is Mom's Apple Pie and deli, plus a small restaurant. Russian River is nearby. Bodega Bay is within 30 minutes.
