Overview

Sonoma County Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This elegant retreat sits on an acre with over 300 feet of rare Sonoma Creek frontage in Kenwood and we've just added a new HotSpring hot tub. The home rests behind a stone wall with a gated circular driveway. There's a 16' x 33' solar heated saline pool with a child safe automatic cover that's 80+ degrees from May 1 through October 1 (possibly later depending on weather). Surrounding the pool and house is 2250 sq ft of Brazilian Ipe wood decking and a 12' x 12' resort cabana with Pottery Barn seating. Other pool furniture includes a double wide lounge, six single chaise lounges with cushions and terry covers and a couple 9' square market umbrellas. There's a large outdoor dining table that seats 8 and a 36'' top of the line KitchenAid stainless gas grill. Yamaha outdoor speakers, an ipod dock and Sony 400 CD changer supply the music for swimming and dining.

There are two king bedroom suites with private bathrooms and a third bedroom with a pillow-top queen bed and separate bathroom with a 2 person tub w/shower. Both suites feature W Hotel pillow-top mattresses, Ralph Lauren duvets & linens. The master bath has a TV, steam shower (very nice for a winter rental) and 2 person WetStyle soaking tub overlooking the creek.

The main floors are wide white washed oak and all baths are light Italian limestone. The living room and Master bedroom have 46'' TV's and the other two bedrooms have 42'' and 32'' TV's, all with DVD players. The living room has a large cast concrete wood burning fireplace and there's a gas fireplace in the master bedroom. For keeping cool in summer all the rooms have ceiling fans and air conditioning. The radient floor heat keeps the house toasty warm in winter while you watch the creek rush by just a few feet from the deck.

Top of the line stainless KitchenAid chef's kitchen with concrete counters, island sink and 6 burner Aga Legacy gas range. Plenty of space in the 42" built in counter depth fridge and separate under-counter wine fridge. Dine at the reclaimed farmhouse dining table that seats 8. There's also a small creekside petanque court and a wrap-around gated driveway for kids to play and ride bikes safely. Eat anything from the organic garden - tomatos, lettuces, cilantro, zucchini, basil, beets, parsley, peas etc. There's a wonderful 5500 sq ft (roughly 1/4 of a football field) creekside lawn that's great for everyone to play sports as well as a basketball hoop in the driveway. .

The house is within walking distance from some of the best wineries in the valley and just up our road is Sugarloaf Ridge State Park for horseback riding and great hiking. This house is also a perfect retreat for the bride/groom party that wants to escape the wedding chaos. Sonoma Town Square is 15 minutes south on Hwy 12 and Santa Rosa is 10 minutes north. We're about an hour and 15 minutes from San Francisco. You can also fly into Santa Rosa (Charles Schultz) Airport just 25 minutes away on Alaskan/Horizon nonstop from LAX, Las Vegas and Seattle and rent a car. Please let us know if you need catering, a private chef or spa information. Our home is well appointed for private entertaining but we absolutely cannot accommodate parties of any kind due to local zoning laws.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your house is amazing! Thank you for letting me stay and enjoy your beautiful setting. Despite the lousy weather, it was a real treat to just be away and relaxing in such a great environment. Your house is a showcase for your great taste and simple elegance---I'm sure you are very proud of it. Hopefully, I can make it back sometime and get a chance to enjoy the pool and the outdoors a bit. Who ever thought about rain in Northern California into June???

Congratulations on completing your home. Five years is a long time to have to endure contractors and construction--not to mention all the expenses. Your home truly shows your attention to detail. The doors and windows were incredible, as were the interior doors and cabinets. I loved all the bathtubs and sinks and now I feel like I need to add a steam shower in my own home!!!

I've rented a lot of homes in wine country throughout the years. Many people have a beautiful setting but then over do it with decorating. Their houses feel fussy and a lot to maintain. Your place was just authentic feeling--I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed and just wanted to pour a glass of wine, listen to music and start to cook in your incredible kitchen. I think you have achieved something really special that so many people try too hard to develop but fail to do so. You should be really proud--and hopefully you can find time to relax and enjoy all your efforts!

Thanks again. It is a real great to find you! I look forward to visiting again soon.

Gorgeous property, very thoughtful owners

  • 5 of 5

New, gorgeous modern farmhouse/villa property. Tons of wonderful amenities, including cut firewood, radiant heating, fully stocked kitchen, fruit trees and a vegetable garden We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and had all the kitchen utensils, platters and bowls we could ask for. Naomi and Tim actually purchased an all-clad roasting pan for guests hoping to cook a bird in the oven! We were up there during a Bay Area cold spell, but felt warm and cozy the entire time. I visited 5 other Sonoma Valley properties in my search and can say this property is by far the most resort like and amenity-filled.

The location is gorgeous! 1 mile from Sugarloaf Ridge State Park on the banks of a small creek. Tons of moss covered trees, and an expansive grass lawn. 20+ wineries a short drive or bike ride away (two you can even walk to: Landmark and Kaz)

The owners are super responsive and helpful (I made a couple of trips up there to check out the property and take stock of the kitchen). Of all the properties I visited, they were the only owners I actually met. It is really nice to be able to put a face to the names of the people you are renting from.

We had a wonderful time, and hope to visit again in the summer and enjoy the pool! Thank you Naomi, Tim and Summer!

Simply Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent a week at this home and could not have been happier. It was perfect for our 3 couples. Everyone had their own bedroom and their own bath. The Kitchen, Dining Area and Family Room are all combined into one giant gathering room where, of course, everyone congregates. To make it even better, the 8' tall doors all open up to just the most delightful of settings - you are 30' from the running brook, a wrap-around porch, pool and lush back yard. For us, it could not have been more conducive to relaxing, talking and simply enjoying being together in this lovely setting.

It is a short drive to Sonoma or Santa Rosa, so you are centrally located. The owners are kind and gracious.

I did see the negative post and I can certainly say that none of those issues existed for us. The backyard was manicured, lust and green. The front has a small garden with a few grapevines on the side. The home was clean and fully stocked. In sum, it felt like home… only much, much nicer!

Thank you Tim and Naomi for perhaps the best week ever for me!

Heaven on earth

  • 5 of 5

We had the most amazing time during our stay. This property is simply stunning! Our kids spent the whole time either in the pool or by the creek - and because the pool is heated we were even able to swim at night. The cozy feel of the house reminded me of vacations in the South of France. The bedrooms are large and beds super comfy, kitchen was well appointed... Tim, the landlord is super responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely go back!

Perfect setup in quiet but very accessible Sonoma location!

  • 5 of 5

We were excited to arrive just based on the photos, but my goodness were we blown away! The home is perfectly setup to accommodate 3 families with each getting a private bathroom. The kitchen was well appointed and every detail was thought of across the house from rolled up pool towels to hairdryers to nightlights throughout and a safety cover on the pool (we had young ones!). I can't say enough about how helpful and thoughtful Tim (the owner) has been with our questions and suggestions. We took advantage of his suggested chef (Cusinebylela) for an in-home dinner which was amazing and spent an entire afternoon at Landmark winery which is walking distance from the house! Thanks Tim for a memorable and perfect weekend! We'll be back!

Relaxing Week in Wine Country

  • 5 of 5

What a treat after a long drive from Seattle. The house and property were exactly as described and shown in the photos. The pool was certainly a welcome site after all day in the car. We really enjoyed our week relaxing on the deck and the kids (13 year old twins) were in the pool more than out. Dinners, with great wine from just down the street, overlooking the creek (not sure how they arranged to have water flowing there in the middle of the drought!) and sunsets from the lanai were perfect. The owners were the perfect hosts with great suggestions for things to see and local dining. Making the booking arrangements could not have been easier and more pleasant. We would recommend staying at Adobe Canyon to anyone in search of a peaceful retreat in wine country...we are already looking forward to our next stay! Many Thanks

Quiet Country Sonoma Getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful, peaceful getaway. It is 15 minutes north of Sonoma and 15 minutes to Santa Rosa. The master has an amazing steam shower. The pool was clean and perfect. I will come back for a nice getaway. Also Tim was so understanding and welcoming to our 3 dogs, yes 3 dogs. It is so hard o find someone willing to give us a chance. Thank you.
