About Rachel Bizot
My french husband and I and our 4 children moved to Aix en Provence from Oxford UK in 2010. We absolutely love it here and will be delighted to fill you in on everything this beautiful area has to offer. Waking up to blue sky and sunshine is a definite plus! Aix en Provence is a beautiful city within walking distance and yet the cottage and bastide are set in 3 acres of garden so one immediately feels on holiday!
Rachel Bizot purchased this House in 2010
Why Rachel Bizot chose Nord
This is our home and we are delighted to rent out our cottage and share the delights of the region with visitors . We love meeting new people from around the world and are very happy to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I am very happy to arrange language lessons, cookery demonstrations, guided tours.
What makes this House unique
The setting is rare so close to Aix and the views are beautiful . There is a boules for you to enjoy like the locals! The large saltwater pool is generally in use from April onwards. The convenience of the location. During busier months it is wonderful not to have to worry about taking a car in to Aix and access to the motorway is easy for visiting the rest of the area.

Just how I envisioned Provence to be
This was a perfect accommodation for our visit to Aix. The overall property is stunningly beautiful and the estate was built in the classic style of Provence. The outdoor surroundings are beautiful and the sun is always shining. The apartment is very well decorated with tons of French country character. Owners Rachel and Jean could not be more lovely and hospitable. The location is a 15 minute short walk into town and it was a nice balance to be staying at a beautiful country property yet so close to downtown Aix. We loved staying there and would definitely stay there again (and hope to on our next trip to Provence!).
Thank you so much for your glowing review. It was a pleasure having you and we look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Provence!
An idyllic rural situation within walking distance of Aix-en-Provence.
On arrival at the house we were just absolutely bowled over by the beauty of the place. A cosy studio feel downstairs provides all that is necessary to cook and enjoy the odd bit of UK tv (Wimbledon!!!). Best of all though is the view of the lawn from the open door, leading down to a very inviting pool. The grounds are just beautiful - well looked after and the hosts, Rachel and Jean are just wonderful, live right next door in the main house and are always on hand to help with queries and even a trip to the local shop to get supplies if you're without a car. Upstairs the property opens out and the bedrooms are of a good size and exquisitely presented and utterly peaceful. Best to open the windows at night once the lights are off (to not attract insects) and let the cool air in. Makes for an easier night's sleep in July! The walk down to town is doable but certainly I would recommend a car if you want to explore the hill villages to the North. Well worth it. We covered almost 200km in one day and the drive was never a chore. A wonderful property - perfect for retreat after a busy day.
Dear Emma ,
thank you so much for your wonderful comments . We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay and it was a pleasure meeting you and your family. .Please come back and see us again, there is still much left to see!
I am glad you were able to get a car sorted out (even if it wasnt the most powerful!)and that you were able to go and explore .
See you back in Aix soon I hope . All the best Rachel and Jean
Aix en Provence
Coming back to the comfortable studio at the end of a long day sight seeing was lovely. We enjoyed being away from the crowds in the town and relaxing with a glass of wine looking out over the garden and with the two well trained dogs looking on. Rachel and Jean were very helpful and even gave us a lift to the local shop when we arrived to get some basics - on a Sunday! If you don't want to walk to town there is a bus at the end of the lane which takes you to the centre.
Excellent holiday spot
We chose this property based on the excellent reviews of past guests. We can only add that we too can only re-iterate the glowing praise that everyone had for the property and especially for Rachel and Jean, the hosts. The position is perfect just on the outskirts of Aix. We had a car but didn't bother to drive, as the walk was so pleasant. There is also a regular bus from the nearby council parking for unlimited daily trips to town for 2 euro. If returning to Provence we would stay again without a moment's hesitation.
Chris and Catherine

Next time Catherine I will organise a hike for you with plenty of artistic references I hope that by then Chris will have taken up painting ! Hoping to see you back here in a couple of years.
All the best Rachel and Jean
A Great Place to Stay
My wife and I spent a week in the guest house of Rachel and Jean's property, and enjoyed our stay immensely. The location provided excellent access to Aix-En-Provence as well as being a good spot for various day trips we made by rental car. Jean and Rachel were very helpful without being pushy. The facilities were just as advertised and very comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone visiting the Provence area.
Thank you so much for your review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay. We were delighted to meet you both and very much hope that you will come back and visit us again.
All the very best
Rachel and Jean
Beautiful location. Probably would be easier with a car but we managed just fine without one. Could walk everywhere. Pool was a nice plus at the end of the day. Family was very enjoyable. Loved Aix and would love to visit again.
Nancy, thank you so much for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay and I hope that the rest of your trip went well. Do please come back and see us again and don't forget your paintbrushes! It was a pleasure to meet you both.
Kind regards, Rachel and Jean
