I am a small business person - live 2 hours from guest house - I am a native Richmond person and avid historical site visitor. If you need help with a tour of sites in Richmond or Virginia I may be able to help. I currently spend most of my time in the Virginia Mountains riding Jack and enjoying the views.
Bill Rogers purchased this cottage in 2005
I bought this property because of it's central location and easy access to Interstate 64 and I-95 and to the fan and downtown Richmond. As it turns out it's a great place for guests for the same reason. This place is quiet and secluded but within minutes to Downtown, the fan, the west end, to Glen Allen or even to south side. It's a great jumping off point.
This place is set up generically without my personal stuff in the house. It's purely a functional place to stay without too many frills. I do leave Coffee and Tea. I have populated this place to be comfortable and useful. It has some luxuries like full cable and 50 gig WIFI. There is plenty of parking. I love a comfortable bed and I think I've put nice stuff where it counts. Central air and heat works extremely well.
Our experience was all we could have expected. It is an excellent location for getting on the various interstates and routes that took us where we wanted to go. The accomodations were very nice. We have stayed at other VRBOs and must say this one was most generous with supplies and most hospitable with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, all sorts of condiments, and the electronic choices were the best as far as local TV, Netflix, Amazon, etc. were concerned. We would definitely stay here again. Our first visit to Richmond and the 2-hour trolley sightseeing tour by the Segway company was excellent. Also enjoyed the civil war museum and a visit to the Cary Town area.
The guest cottage is ADORABLE. It's clean. It easily slept 4 adults and 1 child without difficulty. The location is phenomenal-- super close to the attractions of Richmond, but off the beaten path enough to be quiet and safe. There is PLENTY of parking as well. It even has a french press! The owner could have been more personable.
Bill's guest house was the perfect home base for us for our four-night stay in the Richmond area. It was conveniently located to downtown Richmond as well as all the other places to visit in the area on our 'Civil War Road Trip'.
The house is cute, set well back from the road, and neat and tidy. With all the comforts of home. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved this small home with tons of space. The back yard was great for morning coffee and family room large enough for games in the evening. We would definitely stay here again.
Bill has a great spot. Very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Would stay again. The place is loaded with everything you need. Pet friendly is a MAJOR +.
Perfect "homebase" for my husband and me along with our 9 month old lab mix. We wanted to be a day trip away from various spots including Williamsburg, Coloniel Beach and Virginia Beach. We also enjoyed the Fourth of July fireworks in Richmond at Dogwood Dell, and a great night out in Carytown. The house is incredibly welcoming, comfortable, clean and well cared for. Bill is an accomodating host and we would highly recommend this rental!
