About Bill Rogers

I am a small business person - live 2 hours from guest house - I am a native Richmond person and avid historical site visitor. If you need help with a tour of sites in Richmond or Virginia I may be able to help. I currently spend most of my time in the Virginia Mountains riding Jack and enjoying the views.

Bill Rogers purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Bill Rogers chose Central Virginia

I bought this property because of it's central location and easy access to Interstate 64 and I-95 and to the fan and downtown Richmond. As it turns out it's a great place for guests for the same reason. This place is quiet and secluded but within minutes to Downtown, the fan, the west end, to Glen Allen or even to south side. It's a great jumping off point.

What makes this cottage unique

This place is set up generically without my personal stuff in the house. It's purely a functional place to stay without too many frills. I do leave Coffee and Tea. I have populated this place to be comfortable and useful. It has some luxuries like full cable and 50 gig WIFI. There is plenty of parking. I love a comfortable bed and I think I've put nice stuff where it counts. Central air and heat works extremely well.

Spacious, clean, quiet and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

You do need to have the key box entry code EXACTLY right - took us a while to get it sorted.

But a great stay. Thanks

Love staying here!

This was our 2nd visit to both of Bill's properties. They're in a great location with safe parking. The homes are well equipped and extremely comfortable- great beds and no lack of anything.

Simple, comfortable

  • 5 of 5

As described in the listing, the guest house is not fancy but is very comfortable and home-like. We went to many different areas of Richmond--Downtown, Carytown, Glen Allen, Short Pump, Shockhoe--and while most areas were less than 10 minutes away, we never had to drive more than 15 minutes. It was nice to be close, yet have a parking spot and a quite area to return to when we needed rest. Bill was very responsive and great with instructions, and we could tell that he made every effort to make guests feel at home (not only providing plentiful amount of basic supplies like tissue and laundry detergent, but also extras like popcorn, hot chocolate, and coffee).

Would stay again!

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We come out to Richmond every 2 years and we stayed at this cottage just a few days ago. It was close to where we have relatives in a retirement home and also centrally located for many things to do in Richmond. It was quiet, clean, and cozy. We decided to do the Richmond Beer Trail and there were so many breweries within just a few miles. Bill answered many...."not so well thought out" questions since I am apparently not as tech savvy with the app as I should be. Hope this cottage will be available to us again.
