Our #1 request is that guests respect our place and treat it as if it was their own, leaving it as nice as when you arrived! Access: Feel free to use our grill, patio, dock, river access, fire pit (located behind the house to the North) and fire wood, trails on the property, yard games and toys in the garage, and if you have questions on other things you would like to use, just ask! Clean-up: We ask that guests leave the B&B as they found it, clean! Please wipe down all counters and surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom, and strip beds and stuff all bed linens into a pillow case from that bed and just leave it on the bed so we know where it goes. Any and all garbage can be bagged, tied, and put in the trash cans in our garage. Safety: Our B&B has up to date smoke dectectors, a carbon monoxide detector system, as well as a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink, and a first aid kit under the kitchen sink as well. Please use the dock and river access at your own risk, be safe! Always have children accompanied by an adult. We have two docks, one that is metal that is free to be used, and the other is wood and is under construction, please don't use that one! It is not safe at this moment. Finally, we don't allow pets or smoking at this property.

Nice stay outside of Bemidji, MN
Place was as advertised, two bedrooms, small private apartment above the garage. You had to walk through the garage (with a heavy smell of gas and oil) to get to the apartment. Place was cute, but stuffy. Had to turn on all the fans and open the windows to get air flowing. No A/C, but does not need it. None of the windows had curtains or blinds, which I found odd. Not so much for privacy, but to keep the morning light out. Shower worked well, but no soap or shampoo, make sure to bring your own. The property itself is really nice with a little trail that takes you down to the river. The owner came outside and met us when we arrived. She was friendly and so was her dog. Place is about a 15 minute drive outside of town and you must drive back into town to find food, there is nothing near or around the property. I liked the place and would stay again.
Adequate and reasonably priced is the best I can say
The place met our needs and was reasonable priced, but is far from the level of other VRBOs we have stayed at. And quite honestly, I was surprised the place had received so many great reviews from earlier guests! When we arrived, the place was musty, like it hadn't been used or opened up for a while. Even the towels in the bathroom smelled musty. We quickly opened up the windows to get some air circulating. This was especially necessary, as there is no air conditioning. We also couldn't get the two overhead lights to turn on...turns out the bulbs were burned out. The owner quickly addressed this. We later noticed the smoke detector in one room was missing, cob webs were all over the ceiling and there was a big gross looking smudge below the window in the master bedroom. The freezer in the small fridge had no door and was overflowing with frost. On the positive side, the internet worked fairly well, which seems contrary to other reviews I read. The beds were comfortable. The owners were very easy to work with. Besides addressing the issues I noted above, other suggestions I would have for the owners are as follows:
- Put some shades on the bedroom windows. Undressing in front of bare windows is not really comfortable. Also, the sun comes blaring in the rooms in the morning with no way to minimize it!
- Perhaps add mirrors in the bedrooms so that not everybody has to use the bathroom mirror to get ready.
- Since the place is designed to house four people it would be nice to have more comfortable seating to lounge on. There was one couch and the only other chairs are hard, straight-back wooden chairs with no cushions. .
We had another wonderful stay at the bunkhouse. It had everything we needed for our stay. Very cozy!
We were pleasantly surprised with a nice getaway to Bemidji. This cabin was the perfect place for stay. It was cute and clean and had everything you could need to have a good time. The view in the morning was breathtaking and the trails around the area were fun to explore! Olaf was a real treat. He was so cute and our son just l ok bed him. Will be back again. Thanks for sharing!!
Nice, remote getaway
Very sweet comfortable apartment. It is located on the second floor so that's the only impediment to some. Great woodsy location but not far from Bemidji.
Welcoming atmosphere in a quiet wooded environment.
Met the owners upon check in, had a good conversation and property lay out. Bunkhouse was clean and easy to access; being above the garage was useful since we were there for an ice fishing trip, plenty of room to store equipment if needed. Would definitely use this location again.
