Our townhouse is located on Cape San Blas, with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and St. Joseph's Bay on the other. Located in Barrier Dunes, a gated community with private beach access. Our two bedroom townhouse is well-appointed and very clean.
Walk 2 minutes to the beach which was rated #1 beach in the nation by Dr. Stephen Leatherman (aka Dr. Beach). White sand, emerald green water, dolphins playing near shore, make this pristine beach, 18 miles long, a wonderful stretch of paradise where you can walk to their heart's content. Many times you will be the only one on the beach.
Families will not only enjoy the warm sand and water, but also the two pools, stocked fishing ponds and the lighted tennis courts in Barrier Dunes. Golfers will find the St. Joseph's Bay Country Club course (just a 15 minute drive away) challenging and scenic.
Barrier Dunes is located at the gate of the St. Joseph's Bay State Park which offers beautiful hiking trails along the bay, magnificent dunes, and outstanding bird watching. St. Joseph's Bay offers a wealth of activities including boating, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and some of the best scalloping in the gulf.
This townhouse has three balconies, two with views of the pond and its many turtles. The decks have outside seating, a patio table with umbrella, a gas grill, and great morning sun.
The master bedroom has a king-size bed, the guest bedroom has a queen bed, and there is a fold-out queen sleeper sofa. It comfortably sleeps six. The fully-stocked kitchen has many amenities including an ice maker, microwave, dishwasher, and all small appliances.
The master bedroom has a full bath with two sinks, garden tub and large separate shower. It has a large walk-in closet.
The guest bedroom has a full bath with tub/shower combination.
The living room and bedrooms have HD-TVs with cable. DVD player is available in living room. WIFI is available.
Cape San Blas is a special place. It is relaxing and you will be glad that you found this place.
We are retired couple from Maine(Tom is a Black Bear) & Wisconsin (Barbara is a Badger). We've lived overseas in Bangladesh & China, in our former careers.
Barbara Moskol purchased this townhome in 2015
We came to Barrier Dunes because of our hound-dog Penelope. We love that Cape San Blas is dog-friendly, and that dog-owners are responsible about keeping the beach clean. The relaxed pace here is to our liking, as it is not too crowded, has little traffic, and is not built-up. We love all the different birds.
We love the morning light on our deck. We loved seeing 17 turtles coming to say hello from the pond, and watch us, like we were watching them. Hearing cardinals and watching them fly back & forth, along with many other beautiful birds, is a special experience. The beautiful sunsets on the Gulf make us treasure the natural beauty here.
The townhouse was was very clean and comfortable! The master bedroom bed was the most comfortable one we have ever had in all the places we have rented! I also appreciated that some spices etc were there for guest to use! Barrier Dunes is a very pet friendly complex and it's nice and clean! We absolutely loved the beach, it was clean and the water is gorgeous.
This home was an excellent choice to just get away and relax. The home was well furnished and close to a pool and a short walk to the beautiful beach. This is a dog lovers paradise. On any walk, day or evening, you will meet all sorts of four legged friends and their owners. The home was clean and well stocked and my grandchildren loved feeding the turtles in the pond behind the home. If you are looking for a place close to the action this is not it but if you want to relax and just enjoy the beach you have to stay here.
From top to bottom Turtle Town-home was great!!
There is a newly renovated hot/cold shower on the carport which is GREAT when you come back from those beautiful beaches covered in sugar white sand. Scrub all that sand and salt water off, rinse all the toys, floats and dog, then head up to the 1st floor.
The living room looks north, over the pond which is full of hungry, hungry turtles. We all had fun tossing them a few nibbles. The kids tried their hands at fishing in the pond which is literally, right out the back door and definitely has some fish in it. The decks are all lovely. The main deck has fresh chairs, table and 6 comfortable chairs which are great for lunches.
The living room furniture is neat and clean as well as comfy. The highlight of relaxation in the living room was the window seat which has beautiful, huge pink Oleander bushes next to it.The Wi-Fi and large TV worked perfectly though we did have a cable/internet outage which was resolved by the time we got back from the beach.
The kitchen is fully stocked with clean everything you could need. The owners put two ice tray pans in the freezer and let me tell you, that ice maker kept them both full to the top. We always had fully iced-down coolers.
There are two flights of stairs but there was a baby gate in the downstairs bedroom closet if one was needed.
The lower bedroom faces west and has a comfortable queen sized bed.
The upper bedroom faces east and has a very cozy king sized bed and big screen TV, too.
There is no door to the upper bedroom.
The upper bathroom has a double sink, walk in shower and garden tub. The laundry room is up there, too.
As far as the Barrier Dunes’ features they were very nice, also.
There is a pool almost out the front door. It is heated so night swimming is good; however there were always kids and people in it during the day.The pool by the beach is large and accommodating.
The sugar white beaches are not far away and the owners provided a cart one may use to haul all the stuff down to the beach and back. The beaches get crowded early but most folks are gone by late afternoon.
We saw tons of starfish and sand dollars on the beach. Saw no jelly fish while we were there in early June. The water temp was perfect. Did some fishing from the beach and saw lots of people catching fish up and down the beach as well as lots of kayakers enjoying the surf.
The night skies on the beach were absolutely breathtaking.
Kayaking and snorkeling St. Joe Pk GREAT!
We had a lovely stay in this condo. We enjoy our stay in Barrier Dunes each time we come, but we loved this condo the most. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was well appointed. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We will definitely be looking into renting this condo again in the future!
My family loved the Turtle Townhouse! The property had everything we needed. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable couches and beds, nice linens and very clean. We loved eating breakfast and lunch on the deck while watching the turtles (or my son fishing). Super quick walk to the beach with the softest sand ever! This complex has a nice relaxing and friendly vibe. The pools and tennis courts were great and everyone we met was super nice! Perfect place if you you like to vacation with your dog and family. Even though we were there for spring break, you couldn't tell, the beach had plenty of space to spread out. The only disappointment was the ice-cream place closest to the spot was being remodeled and there weren't too many food options. The sand bucket was average at best, but the Sunset Coastal Grill in Port St. Joe was fabulous! We also loved the local donut shop, but you need to get there early or they sell out. We would absolutely stay there again !
Loved the condo...very comfortable.
I was able to sleep like I do at home and that's impossible for me...never get good sleep away from home.
Property well maintained...beautifully landscaped.
Condo was clean...cool and had everything we needed to complete our vacation!!
Owners were more than accommodating with our stay even shipping to us something g we left behind.
Very informitable which helped with what to bring what not to bring....rules were helpful.
Close to beach and pool.
Can't say enough!! Thank you so very much for a memorable vacation!!
