Perfection! The house was so functional and useable. We loved the layout of the house. For a family of 7 - everyone had their own bed and there were still some to spare. Owners were quick to answer any questions we had. The beach was amazing. We will book this one again!
For the most part, we had a good stay. It's a perfect home for families with small kids. Our kids loved the beach. For fishing however, too shallow. So we had to put away our fishing gear for the duration of the stay. The house is beautiful and comfy. Our BIGGEST concern, was were to throw out all the garbage. We came on vacation and live over 6 hours away with carpools and vacation bags. To be asked to take the extra garbage home, is very unreasonable and upsetting. For a vacation home that accommodates 12 adults, for an entire WEEK, we found the garbage situation extremely frustrating. We had to find dumpsters in town and ask around if it we could dump our trash in their dumpsters and pay them a fee. For this very reason, we will not be renting the home for our future vacations. The ONE red bin only holds 2 full garbage bags (and we cooked all our meals). Also, we paid a cleaning fee, and yet were asked to take care of all the linens and towels. In addition to that, check out at 11. We found that to be a unreasonable too. With the hassle of packing and trying to get out by 11 with little kids, that was frustrating. And to add to the cleaning topic, the house was pretty filthy. The tubs and vanities were very dirty, and we cleaned everything with bleach wipes before using. We wiped the kitchen counters, and our bleach wipes were black. Bed sheets and pillow case had pink (blood?) stains. Luckily, we brought our own linens and blankets. So we had to clean most of the house before we could unpack and begin our stay. Overall, it was a decent stay but we cleaned and took out garbage way too much and THAT is not what vacations are for. The owners, Pat is incredibly polite and responded to our questions before we arrived. I think the issues mentioned above must be fixed, for their sake. They have a lovely home and people of all ages WILL enjoy their stay much, much more, once the issues are fixed.
