About Pamela Ehtee

Dick and Pam owned a home at Lake of the Ozarks, Mo when they decided to start traveling the country in their motorhome in 2010. They then placed their Missouri home with Homeaway as a vacation rental and were very successful, receiving all 5 star reviews for their venture.

Dick was born in Eastern Washington and was familiar with the Olympic Peninsula so they decided to visit and fell in love. Having traveled most of the 48 contiguous states looking for the perfect place to settle, they decided that Port Angeles/Sequim area was it! They wanted a place with a view where they could put their motorhome and have a small house for guests to visit. They found it after meeting a couple at an Olympic Cellars Winery concert who referred them to this little blue house just down the road from where they lived. After receiving directions they drove up the next day and WOW, it was just perfect!!!. They lived in their motorhome with hook ups to the site and were able to enjoy entertaining at their new little home as well as having a wonderful place for guests to visit. They built the wonderful deck and expanded the park model bedroom to allow for a queen size bed. Pam is a crazy gardener, so she had a blast transforming the yucky front yard into a beautiful garden paradise.

After 3 years living here, they decided that it was time to move into a "real" house, so they bought their neighbors home, two doors down. They love it here and don't ever want to move elsewhere. They hope you will love it too as they have decided to share the experience with you.

Pamela Ehtee purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Pamela Ehtee chose Olympic Peninsula

The view is fantastic!

What makes this cottage unique

What's not to love about the Olympic Peninsula? The weather is mild. The scenery is fantastic. The outdoor activities are endless. The serenity is healing and the beauty awesome. This property included all of those features.

The view of the Strait and watching the cruise ships and cargo ships go by all day and night, plus watching the eagles and red-tail hawks, seagulls, quail, deer and many other birds and wildlife just made this our perfect place.

Perfect vacation getaway

  • 5 of 5

First of all, the view from the deck is even better than the photo. Pam was a wonderful host. She greeted us the first day with fresh plums and tomatoes from her garden, brought a bouquet of flowers another day and was always available if we needed anything. The flower gardens around the property were beautiful. We loved the location. We spent several days hiking the trails in Olympic National Forest, spent a day driving to and hiking the coastline, took a ferry to Victoria, BC(don't miss Butchart Gardens if you go), and took one day to just relax. We picked lavender and blackberries just a couple miles from the property.

We chose to eat out in the evenings but really enjoyed having breakfast and sometimes lunch at the cottage. Sitting out on the deck was so peaceful, watching all the birds and enjoying the fresh air. We would highly recommend staying here.

What a view!

  • 4 of 5

This is a great location for exploring the area, Olympic National Park, and Sequim. The owner was very nice to bring us fresh fruit and good advice on what to see. Our plans were a little ambitious so I'm glad we listening to Pam and modified our itinerary. As described it is tiny, but light and bright with everything you need, but the deck is the place to be. It was so fun to watch the ferries and cruise ships go by, the weather was perfect so we stayed on the deck when we were not sightseeing , the view is what your paying for so enjoy it. Don't miss the Dungeness state park nearby, beautiful with the longest natural spit in the world. Walmart is just a few miles away for stocking up. Slight negative we never seemed to have enough hot water.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. This is the first time I have heard about lack of hot water. No other guest has experienced this that we know. I really wish you would have told us. We will check it out. Thanks for coming. Having spoken with you it appears that filling the tub and then trying to shower after does deplete the 25 gallon tank. There is a pretty quick recovery time so, if guests wish to take a bath, I suggest waiting awhile for the tank to heat back up, or choosing to take showers instead. Sorry for your inconvenience.

Perfect in every way

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this fabulous little cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed to fix meals at home and enjoy them on the beautiful deck. The deer visited every day and we were able to see the eagles fly by on a panoramic view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The cottage is very near all the great places to visit in the Olympic National Park as well as the Lavender Farms around Sequim. There was no lack of things to do and places to go. We loved hiking at Sol Duc Falls and Marymere Falls as well as biking around Crescent Lake. This is such a beautiful area, we want to come back again and again. Pam and Dick are wonderful hosts. Their love of this little cottage is evident by their care to the gardens and the amenities of the house. Thank you for allowing us to stay.

Tiny jewel with an amazing view!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently spent a 3 day weekend here while hiking in the Olympic National Forest. I am pretty picky about staying in homes away from home and I loved this one! My favorite part was waking up to the gorgeous view right outside the bedroom, living room and kitchen. I did yoga on the deck! My husband and I had our morning tea/coffee while watching all the birds flying around the trees and beautiful flowers. It was difficult leaving for our daily activities. We decided to spend as much of our limited time by eating our dinners here. The house had everything we needed and the bed was comfy. Pam, the owner, was very friendly, helpful, close by, and always available by text or in person. I can't wait to stay here again!

Great view, good base camp

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I were lucky enough to stay here on a short trip to the PNW. It's close enough to Port Angeles that we never wanted for anything, but far enough away to enjoy the incredible view without traffic noise. The house provided everything two people needed to prepare and meal and great water pressure for a well needed shower after a day if hiking. The house is a great base camp for trips lake crescent, hurricane, whale tours and more. We even managed a trip to Ruby Beach. Pam and Rich were very welcoming. We are already planning a trip back and we will definitely be staying here again.
