About Tony Cardona
I'm a father, grandfather and a businessman in love with my family. Back in 2006 when I bought the property I was looking for a private and peaceful place to share beautiful times vacationing with the family. Since then it has become a family tradition to spend Holy Week and Eastern Holidays in CapCana. The apartment is very spacious; 2 large bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, a big kitchen with everything you need; a fully furnished sleep-in maid quarters for our maid Yolanda who pampers everyone, but specially my grandchildren, starting with morning breakfast and all kind of munchies; you don't have to worry about cooking, cleaning, beds, laundry, etc..she's awesome and very accommodating.

We just returned home Saturday from 2 weeks in paradise. Cap Cana is absolutely wonderful. The condo we stay at was gorgeous, the weather, the people the food were excellent. Just a walk out the door and you were at the pool and ocean. The big decision of the day was, do we go to the pool or to the ocean, or both?
Everyone was so kind and helpful, this is a great place for families, couples and friends. We will certainly return.
Thank you so much Carol. I was delighted to have you vacationing in my property in Capcana. I'm so glad you had a superb time in Punta Cana and, specifically, in Capcana. Looking forward to have you back in near future.
This was a great property! Steps away from the pool on ground floor and a few more steps to the beach with beautiful views. It was very quiet and private. As other reviews stated, a grocery store stop is very necessary. We had a hard time finding restaurants. Tony helped us with transportation to & from the airport, which was very nice. The property had everything we needed from soap to toilet paper - thank you!
Thanks so much Jeff for your feedback and, most importantly, your comment on restaurants. Sorry you had a hard time finding restaurants. Addressing your comments I'm updating the Welcome Letter to include a section on restaurants in Capcana.. Certainly aside from Apis on the Beach there are limited choices for Restaurants in Aquamarina, but there is a large variety of Restaurants in Capcana just a short ride from AquaMarina. Remember that Capcana offers a private taxi service to mostly all points within Capcana for only $3 dollars each way.
Exclusive, private retreat - would gladly return!
From the moment I made contact with Tony, the owner of this beautiful haven, I felt very welcome to his beautiful condominium on the beach in AquaMarina in Cap Cana. After we arrived, the sights brought the experience to life. This condo is in a very safe, gated, exclusive community, and its location on the first floor, right on the beach, made waking up each day to the beautiful sunrise the highlight of our trip. It was a quick drive from the airport, where Ana and Moises greeted us, to take us to the Supermercado Nacional to pick up groceries, as recommended by past visitors. The condo is spacious, cleanly decorated and provided more than enough room for my family, which included my husband and two teenage daughters. Initially, we did not rent a car, but we wanted to explore the area outside of Cap Cana, so we ended up renting a car for 4 days; in hindsight, we should have rented the car from the airport for the entire week, as taxi fees can add up and the car provided us more freedom to explore the area. Highlights also included Monkey Land, which was about 1.5 hours away, where a guided tour allows you to hold and feed squirrel monkeys right in their natural habitat - my daughters loved this! We also explored Macao, El Corticito and Playa Juanillo beaches, and while all were beautiful, none compared to the beautiful beach and pools right outside our door at AquaMarina. Water shoes are a must, as there is a lot of coral, but the shelling is very fruitful and was part of our daily morning ritual. There are plenty of restaurants, including Api, which is steps away from the condo, as well as upscale restaurants across the harbor which include seafood, Italian and tapas dining right on the waterfront. Little John restaurant (right on Juanillo beach) was fun and delicious. Punta Cana Village is a short drive away - Mama Luisa's is good Italian. Lunch overlooking the golf course at Punta Espada is worth it too, but we also enjoyed lots of meals at home outside on the condo veranda, where the view of the water is stunning. A nice perk included Tony providing for discount tickets to Scape Park, which was amazing.
This trip was our first to the Dominican Republic, and while we were sad to leave, we hope to be back! If you are looking for an alternative to an all-inclusive hotel, away from the crowds and with more autonomy and privacy in the Dominican Republic sun and sand, I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Tony! I hope we return soon!
Maureeeeeeeen....thanks thanks thanks so much, and I'm so glad you had a wonderful vacation with your beautiful family at my place in Capcana.
I'm aware that Santo Domingo, and particularly Punta Cana, almost for all of my visitors is a non-familiar destination with many uncertainties, and therefore my involvement getting my visitors feel at ease when visiting and renting my place....I know that, once in Capcana, my visitors will fall in love ...
Your review is awesome.....lots of good hints to new visitors (I myself took some notes since some of the places mentioned are new to me).
Certainly looking forward to having you back in Capcana.
Again, thanks so much.
Another amazing trip to Cap Cana!!!
I am a frequent traveler and this was my sixth trip to Cap Cana. I always stay in Aquamarina as the grounds are always beautifully maintained as well as the pools and most importantly the beach’s (water shoes recommended). Love that when I am on the beach I usually am there by myself. The area is extremely safe and all staff are so friendly and helpful. If you are looking for beauty and serenity this is the place (no crowds). There is a restaurant on the beach within walking distance called API’s. They have fantastic fresh snapper, great drinks and staff always so friendly. This unit was perfect location, view was amazing!!! The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were very comfortable (very important). Tony was extremely accommodating and I will definitely stay here again next year! He can arrange service from airport and Anna his representative was there to meet us even though out flight was delayed and we arrived late. I do recommend you stop at the grocery store by the airport on the way. There is a smaller grocery store in Cap Cana called Las Canas that is a short $3 cab ride if you run out of supplies. It is $3 cab ride to anywhere in Cap Cana (Juanillo, Scapepark, Caleton Beach etc) so I never rent a car. The bait shop is within walking distance for water, ice, coffee etc. Thanks Tony, will be in touch soon!!!
Deniece, it was such a great pleasure having you spent this year's vacations in my vacation condo. As you stated, Capcana is an amazing place to vacation, to relax and enjoy the surrounding turquoise ocean waters. I'll be delighted to have you back next year. Take good care, Tony
Most incredible vacation ever!
From beginning to end, this has been the most incredible vacation. Tony is wonderful to work with, he answered all our questions quickly and thoroughly. He had a taxi waiting at the airport for us, and we made our first stop at the market on our way in. Try to plan out everything you want to get in advance, because extra trips to the market get expensive at $40 each way in a taxi. Food and alcohol add up very quickly here, so the more you can consume in, the cheaper you will make your stay. The property itself is absolutely stunning, and the condo is beautiful and well stocked with almost everything you need including thick beautiful towels. I don’t think you will find a better property anywhere on the island with a direct path to pool and beach, literally right out the patio door. This place is EXTREMEMLY secure. Absolutely NO vendors on the beach, and no one but guests and property owners allowed! We walked on the beach late into the night and every morning at dawn, and rarely saw a soul. This is an extremely private and quiet property. Do not look for any nightlife here. If you want safety, privacy and quiet, you can not beat this. We brought our two adult children and their significant others with us, and had an incredible time. My daughter got engaged on this trip and it was absolutely perfect. We did venture out to Punta Cana a couple times and Bavaro beach just because we have never been here, but after seeing the beaches of the all inclusive resorts, we were extrememly grateful for our choice! We had the pools and beaches all to ourselves. A few other couples and families, but very quiet! Word of advice, bring water shoes!!! Beaches are a beautiful soft white sand, but there is a ton of shells, and coral in it so it’s very painful to walk into the water without them. Shell hunting is a lot of fun, because there is an unlimited supply. The beach workers were wonderful and helped us find incredible shells! There is definitely a language barrier, but our iTranslate app and Dawin at the front desk were very helpful! The coffee shop and Lazy Lizard in Los Casas were wonderful, as well as Api and El Portico. Bring smaller bills with you because it’s hard to change large bills most places, and you’ll need it for cabs and tipping. Catalina Island snorkeling is a must do!!! Breathtaking! I can not wait to repeat this trip many many more times. Definitely the highlight of my life! Thank you Tony, we couldn’t have had a better time!
Thanks so much, Michelle. I'm so glad you had a great time with family in my beatiful vacation home. I always strive to be very accommodating so the families who choose to vacation in my property at Capcana feel comfortable at all times and enjoy every minute of their vacations . Thanks so much, Michelle, for the tips on your review. They are certainly very helpful for new renters. Regarding the grocery store by the airport (called "Supermercado Nacional") it's trully very expensive to get there by taxi. Once inside Capcana I recommend the smaller supermarket located in Las Canas near entrance to Capcana. A taxi ride there, an to any point inside Capcana, is only US$3/one way.
Again thanks so much, MIchelle; I'll be delighted to have you in the future as a repeated customer.
Beautiful place, attentive host, quiet paradise.
We had a fabulous time at this property! Another reviewer mentioned that if you are looking for a bunch of nightlife, look elsewhere. This is true; there were few people at the beach and the pool, so if you want to be in a quiet, beautiful paradise, don't hesitate to book this amazing property. We felt like we were in the most beautiful place we could possibly be, and it was so peaceful! The owner was super helpful and responsive. He arranged airport transportation for us which included a stop at a large grocery store so we mostly ate at home. However, there is a great beach restaurant within this property. It is a $3 cab ride to go anywhere in Cap Cana. We went on 2 snorkeling boat trips, (owner has Skapepark Discount cards so don't book that online.) and my husband and daughter went deep sea fishing through Mike's - located within the property bounds.
I'm so glad, Gretchen, you and your family had a great time. As always, I try very hard to make sure my customers are well oriented and small details taken care of before arrival. Thanks so much. Looking forward to having you back in Capcana.
