Ideal location in the city
This is a spacious, clean, comfortable apartment in a perfect location on the edge of the La Petite France neighborhood. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. There were top restaurants on our street, but it was very quiet. The sitting room was spacious and comfortable with ample seating for 2 or more, which can be rare. Having an extra bed and couch was a plus for me because of a back injury. We wished we had more than the 2 nights we arranged. This apartment would have been comfortable enough for a longer stay. Our host was responsive and accommodating. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. We appreciated a late check-out since our train departure was not until afternoon.
This apartment was wonderful for us. We enjoyed the fact that it seems to be so close to everything we needed. And we loved being able to walk around Petite France and see the reflections of so many interesting buildings in the waterways. Communication with Delphine was quick and efficient and, although we did not meet her, the instructions for entering the apartment were accurate and easy to follow. The wi-fi and free telephone calls back home to Australia were particularly welcome. We would certainly come back if we were able to visit Strasbourg again.
Perfect location for exploring Strasbourg! The apartment is very comfortable, clean and it abounds with nice touches that make you feel welcome and right at home. The kitchen is very spacious and has everything you need, although you might not be having a lot of meals here since there are plenty of wonderful restaurants just steps from the front door.
Communication with Delphine was fast, easy, and the check in process was very smooth and well thought out. My only suggestion would be to park in the Petite France park house for 12 Euro/24 hrs instead of Gallery Lafayette for 44 Euro/24 hours. We will know for next time, for I certainly want to go back!
Eight nights here were too few! So, would we stay here again? Definitely! Would we recommend this apartment to our friends? YES. As other reviewers have pointed out, this apartment is within a very few minutes (and easy walking) of everything in Petite France. And, as promised in the manager's write-up, this was an ideal base from which to explore Strasbourg's fantastic Christmas Markets. The apartment itself is quite well maintained and up-to-date with a comfortable, homey feel... not the usual sparse, cool to cold rental so often available. The owners have gone out of their way to make a stay here a pleasant and easy experience... even providing the basics for your first breakfast - including milk waiting in the refrigerator for your morning coffee or cocoa (both are provided). Communications about the booking and how to get to the apartment were timely and clear. The manager was extra helpful (given our limited French) in arranging a taxi for us on our departure. If you choose to visit Strasbourg, you would not be disappointed in this neighbourhood nor, especially, in choosing this apartment for your stay.
We had the pleasure of staying here for over a month, from June into August this year. It was the best location—in the heart of Petite France. Everything was just steps away, making it easy to drop things off from one of the many upscale boutiques or a quaint farmer’s markets and then head out again. Many days we enjoyed entertainment coming to us as we flung the windows open to hear a strolling minstrel.
The flat itself was very stylish and seemed larger than the photos depicted. Many rentals offer a good location, but are Spartan; reminiscent of student dorm décor. For us, part of the vacation is about staying in a place that is charming as well as comfortable. The half-timbered walls and beautiful old building made us feel like we were immersed in the culture and history of Strasbourg, yet the amenities were modern and appreciated. The shower was very modern and to American standards, and the strong Wi-Fi signal permitted us to easily Skype family back home.
There is a small cobblestone street below with a creperie/gelato café and some great little restaurants. We enjoyed watching them set up their café tables, arrange fresh flowers, and write the day’s menu on blackboards every morning. There was so much to see and do—the different market days, street festivals, museums and events showcasing the 1000 year-old cathedral kept us entertained. The train station is an easy walk and connected us with many wonderful little side trips as well. The town and surrounding area truly felt like a fairytale lifted off the pages and came to life!
This apartment was such a good value on so many levels. We send a warm thank you to Delphine and her associates for making it a most wonderful stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the time of booking we were given clear information with arrival details. The apartment is very spacious and full of character yet with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The central location is ideal for exploring Strasbourg and as a base for Alsace tours.
