Guestbook comments from the owner

I recently stayed at this charming Cabin, and found it to be so refreshing and unique. Private, but not far from town. I had concerns about a mention of water pressure, but had no problem with the water at all. We could not have been happier with our stay.

Peaceful charming cottage

  • 5 of 5

Just as it looks in pictures. Quiet and secluded but yet close to everything. Were able to easily travel to downtown, Hot Springs National Park, Garvan Woodland Gardens, and Lake Catherine. Loved the charm, perfect combination of old and new. Enjoyed looking at all of the unique decor in the home. Also was very clean! Definitely hope to be back.

Loved the simplicity and eclecticism.

Great little cabin very close to all attractions that you may want to see. We really enjoyed our stay despite some weather related issues.

A rough start, but it got better

  • 3 of 5

Overall, I would recommend the Naughty Pine, but we did face a few things that were frustrating. We arrived right at check in time, and the temperature inside the cabin was 85 degrees. We were very concerned that it would not be comfortable to sleep in. We contacted the owner, and she did reply immediately with instructions on how to cool the place down and assured us that it would. She was right, it did finally cool down by around 8 pm. The bummer is that my husband and I were planning on just hanging around the cabin and relaxing until we were ready to leave for dinner. Unfortunately, the cabin was so warm we left immediately to give it time to cool down. In hindsight, it would have been nice to have the place cooled down before we got there.

The other frustration was that while both beds were listed as queen beds, one was definitely smaller than the other. The one in the living room felt like a queen, just like we sleep in at home. The bed in the bedroom definitely felt smaller and would have been tough to sleep in together. Thankfully it was just the two of us, so we obviously just slept in the bigger bed. Had we rented the cabin with another couple and been forced to sleep in the smaller bed, we would have been uncomfortable.

Here are the pros:

The owner was clearly available as needed.

The cabin was quaint, quiet, clean, and rustic, just as I expected.

Once the cabin cooled down, it stayed cool.

It was about 15 minutes from everything we wanted to do.

One other thing that would have made it better is a makeup mirror. As someone else posted, the lighting in the cabin is poor. Mostly not a big deal, but we were going out for a nice dinner and it was very hard to see for doing hair & makeup. A lamp in the bathroom and a makeup mirror in the bedroom would be a nice touch!

I think the heat gave me a really bad first impression of the place, but our stay did get better once it cooled down. I think it is ideal for one couple and it would be tight (and potentially awkward) for more than that.

Rustic/shabby chic cabin! So cute! Perfect for a quiet getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was so adorable! The screened in porch is so cute and so large! The inside is decorated perfectly. I will say the little loft would be perfect for a couple of kids or maybe 1 adult, there is a little pallet up there. The two beds were super comfy and there was an additional twin sized roll away bed in the closet. There is central air and heat plus a window unit in the front room. Also has a little garage type area with a concrete walkway that wraps the property, even has a little grilling area in the back. Overall we would definitely stay here again! It was perfect for our 10 year reunion girls getaway! There were 4 of us and we had plenty of room and hot water!

Simply great quiet and unique play to stay

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. It's away from the city, but close enough to get in when you want. It's very quaint but plenty spacious for a couple and a couple kids that can sleep in the 2nd bed. The vintage pieces that make up this place are very interesting. It's quiet, the AC is very good. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate staying here again if we ever get back to Hot Springs!
