5 Bedroom, 2 1/2 Bath Home In Beautiful Wooded Setting & Close To Lake Michigan
Why Linda Poore chose Waukazoo Woods
My family has spent MANY happy days on Lake Michigan beaches. It just seemed right to have a place where we could all get together and make more memories.
What makes this House unique
Knew this house was the one as soon as I entered the door. Lots of space for a large family. From the skylights to the loft in the master bedroom to the floor- to- ceiling windows in the kitchen that open out on to the deck, I knew my family would enjoy this home. The stone fireplace in the family room is cozy on chilly nights and during the summer, we can all sit around the fire pit in the back yard.

A great family vacation
Nine of us spent 4 days in this home in Holland. There was plenty of room for us all. We never even used the basement room. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes. flatware, serving bowls, baking and cooking pots and pans. There are plenty of bath towels for a big crowd. The beds are very firm so if you are someone who prefers soft beds you might want to bring a mattress topper. We managed to fit 9 (6 adults and 3 teens) around the table for meals and lots of game playing.
We loved that we could ride bikes around the neighborhood. The neighbors we met were very friendly and chatted with us about living in this beautiful area. Some of us road to the state park and enjoyed watching the activity in the channel. One of us road into and around Holland downtown.
We enjoyed a lovely campfire (we brought our own wood) and made s’mores and told stories. Surprisingly, there were few mosquitoes in spite of being in a heavily wooded area.
We had a very relaxing and fun time and would recommend this house and location to others families who want to get away.
Linda was very prompt in responding to our questions as we prepared to visit and during our visit too.
Comfortable cabin...great location
We were in Holland for a baseball tournament and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very comfortable, like a home away from home. Anything we needed was available. Great location in a great neighborhood.
Big House in the Big Woods
This was our fifth annual “Michigan Summer Adventure” with adult children, and, like us, potential guests with growing families and/or pets will appreciate all this home has to offer. First, it has plenty of room, and you don’t have to put your twenty-something kids in bunk beds. We had lots of space for seven adults and one new grandchild. Second, pets are considered, and we were very grateful to have the opportunity to bring along pets, and enjoy vacation with them. Third, the amenities you would expect in a home of this size are there. We brought along our own beach gear, so didn’t rely on these items being around. But everything else in the way of cooking, grilling, dining, and washing was available, no problem. Fourth, the yard is good sized (but no fence for your pet, so don’t expect that) and the neighborhood is gorgeous with tall trees and lush vegetation. During our years out on the Great Plains, we learned that prairie people may feel a little claustrophobic in woods, and not appreciate moss on the ground or tree pollen on their cars. But Michigan natives that we are, we loved it. For me, Waukazoo Woods has the feel of a forested campground in which everyone traded in their tents for a new house. Thanks, Linda, for letting us stay in your place.
The house was very spacious and offered many extras items for rainy day fun. We had a large family dinner after graduation and this house was a perfect setting. The master bedroom has a small loft which offered a quiet place to reflect. You won't be disappointed if you rent this property.
Spacious, charming home in lovely neighborhood!
This was the perfect home for us for a Thanksgiving family visit. Nine of us came from across Michigan and Georgia to stay in Linda's Waukazoo Woods home, and is was perfect for us. The home is quite spacious and very charming, and the neighborhood really is lovely, even in late autumn. The kitchen is very well stocked and has a wonderful open layout that spills into the dining room; the fireplace is just off the dining room and was a favorite place to "retire to" for relaxing in the evenings; the bedrooms were very comfortable; the bathrooms were well equipped; and the other amenities (TV areas in the living room and basement, lots of board games) really gave the place a fun, comfortable touch. This was one of the best HomeAway stays I have ever had. I highly recommend it!
What I liked about this house was that it was comfortable for a large-ish group of adults. Lots of queen beds (including one on main level for my dad who struggles with stairs), plenty of seats at the dining table, and large couch. It was a nice location near lake macatawa and only 10 min drive to downtown. Kitchen was well stocked. Thanks for the hospitality!
Delightful setting in Waukazoo Woods area. Holland State Park beach is a bike ride away! Tunnel Park is just as close for picnicking, playgrounds, and beach. Discover the restaurants and shops in Downtown Holland, home to New Holland brewery. The Holland Farmers Market is a must Wednesday and Saturdays. Make sure to include the historic Dutch village and windmill. Everything that western Michigan has to offer such as wineries, blueberries, and golf are nearby!
