Newly renovated apartment in the heart of downtown Reykjavík with 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom, sleeps for 4. Balcony with views over Reykjavík.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of the city center close to a variety of restaurants, bars and shops, cafés, restaurants, shopping, galleries and theaters. Companies that offer day trips into the country depart around the corner, a car is not needed.

The apartment is stylishly decorated and furnished. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances you would need for a short trip to Reykjavík. The open space layout of the apartment gives it an unique, artistic look.

There are 2 bedrooms, 1 bedroom with tempur queen size bed, (two persons) and 1 single bed. 1 bedroom with single bed. All the beds are of very good quality. 1 bathroom with a shower. There is one hairdryer in the bathroom. There is a window in the bathroom allowing fresh air to enter at all times.

The apartment is well organized and is located on the 1st floor.

Wireless Internet and radio.

Towels and linens are provided upon arrival.

100 meters away to a supermarkets open 11-23, only 500 meters Bonus low price food market.

The apartment is right by all major tourist sights, cafés, restaurants, hotels, theaters, Reykjavík harbor,museums, whale watching boats, nightlife, library, parliament, the Music Hall „Harpa“ steps away from playgrounds and gift shops and all the clean geothermal pools etc.

Transportation of all sorts is very close, as this is in the heart of downtown Reykjavík area. Taxis, buses or all the sightseeing tours. A tourist information center is located 100 meters away.


There is street parking outside the house, easy to find parking there at all times.

The apartment has all the comforts of home combined with a great location.

What makes this apartment unique

Car not necessary.

The newly renovated apartment is located in the centre of Reykjavik, 300 meters from the Althingi (the parliament). Our next door neighbours are the Russian, Canadian, Indian, and French embassies.

The airport bus will drop you off and pick you up, just 50 steps from here. Although the apartment is in down town Reykjavik, it is a quiet place and peaceful.

All of the main Reykjavik attractions are in a short walking distance, as well as the great restaurants.

The owners were generous, helpful and friendly. The apartment was perfect. Beautifully decorated, lots of windows and a balcony to see the northern lights, comfortable and clean. No complaints from us. I will recommend this property to friends.

Great location but areas for improvement

We have travelled for many years staying in apartments/villas and as many people have mentioned it seems the high rental costs in Iceland do not garner the same high standards you get for the same money in other countries.

Excellent location. There is on street parking. Next to the apartment block it is pay and display with the evenings/Sundays free of charge but a little distance away there is free parking. Good beds and linen and thoughtfully supplied with hand soap, washing up liquid, olive oil, loo rolls, basic toiletries etc.

I'd say the photographs are a bit misleading in that although the apartment is surrounded by some quaint houses the apartment block itself looks utilitarian from the outside but your neighbours are quiet and there was only a little noise in the streets on Saturday night. The outside was being painted whilst we stayed ( a bit noisy) and a neighbour was doing renovation work involving lots of hammering. This only mattered whilst we were in the apartment which wasn't much as there is so much to see and do.

Kitchen only big enough to make small meals. There were no tea spoons and just 2 tin mugs and as there were 3 of us it would have been nice to have at least 4 china mugs. There are small coffee cups and a coffee machine if you are a coffee drinker. The kettle didn't work.

Despite confirming our arrival time at 2pm on the day of arrival the owners showed up at 1.55pm with no explanation as to why the apartment wasn't ready as the previous guests had clearly departed. They were very pleasant and helpful with recommendations but the half hour clean did make us wonder how thorough the clean was.

The major drawback of the apartment is the bathroom. A previous guest describes it as large by Icelandic standards. Maybe but the sink was tiny and difficult to access due to the shelf over. The water temperature was hard to regulate and the standing area when you stepped out of the shower was right next to the loo with no bath mat provided. When you had your shower the tray filled up with water suggesting the drain was blocked perhaps with hair. Not very inviting. If you like convenience go for it but if you appreciate a nice bathroom this is not for you. My husband wanted to give a 3 star review but as some of the issues are resolvable I think 4 is fair.

Great location on a quiet street

This was an amazing find - the apartment is clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. We stayed in a number of Airbnb's around the city during our stay and this was by far the best. It was steps from the main street in Reykjavik but located in a very quiet location, which was perfect given that we were there in July during the midnight sun, when the city is lively all night. The apartment had a good sized bathroom (for Iceland) and very comfortable beds. Highly recommend!

rental property was clean, very well located

we arrived on a sat. and proceeded to the rental property in reykjavik. The property was quite easy to find and in a quiet residential area. The location was quite excellent as there were quite a few dining choices, pubs/bars and shopping within 3-5 mins walking distance. The property is also within 5 min of the popular harbor front area. The apartment itself is in a safe and secure building and is on the second floor ( a little safer as well). The apartment is well lit and everything was in working order. We were impressed with how bright and cheery the apartment was on arrival. During our stay , we had no issues with the neighbors or neighborhood. There was ample street parking . All things said , we would be quite happy to stay at the Einarsson residence again. The owners were also quite accommodating and helpful in our interactions. We were 3 total in our party. 14 yr old son, myself and my wife. At week's end , we simply left the key in the apartment and headed to the airport some 40-50 kms away . We would highly recommend this rental and the property owners for your stay in reykjavik. It was nice to tour throughout the day , come home to a comfy apartment, park the car and just stroll down to the harbor front or the entertainment/dining just around the corner from our location. The folks in Iceland are all very warm and friendly and have a very good command of the English language for the most part. When in Iceland , do give this rental consideration and I'm sure you'll be quite happy with the value, location and experience.

Great location, welcoming owners

Great location. Just around the corner from the downtown and harbour areas and a short walk to the main shopping area. The owners were very helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants etc..

great appartement downtown

very nice and comfortable appartement with fast internet connection and Reykjavik's center and harbour in walking distance. Even our late arrival (01.30 am) to handover the keys was no problem at all.
