Beautiful Ocean and Mountain views.
This modern, 5500 square foot villa, has everything you need to have a truely relaxing and memorial 'real' Costa Rican vacation away from the crowds. Secure, private, and relaxing. Located on 60 acres of your own lush jungle paradise.
Perfect for families, friends, or couples that just want to 'get away from it all' and enjoy.
The two story house has an oversized master bedroom on the upper floor with an oversized California King bed. The master bath, with tub and shower, is stunning. 3 sets of beautiful teak double doors open onto a complete wrap around balcony, perfect for stargazing and viewing the lights of the valley below. AIr conditioning is included for those who wish, but with the doors open and the fans on you'll sleep like a baby. There is an office desk and wifi for those who feel the need to keep up with the outside world.
The second and third bedrooms, though smaller, are equally as comfortable, with queen sized beds, air conditioners, and access to the balcony.
The second bathroom which has a huge walk in shower, is located here.
The fourth bedroom is located downstairs, and also has a queen sized bed and air conditioning. A full sized handicap accesible bathroom is attached.
A half bath is located adjacent to the kitchen.
We are 100 % solar hot water heated! And unlike properties located on the beaches we actually have very good water pressure.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with marble countertops, and a gas stovetop and electric range. All necessary appliances, plates, silverware, etc. are included. The stainless steel dishwasher and refrigerator/freezer will keep you going.
The dining area is quite comfortable with two tables that sit four each, and a bar with two stools.
The living area is also quite comfortable with two couches, a chair and a 42 inch flat screen TV with cable, stereo and DVD player for your viewing pleasure. That's if you can drag yourself inside long enough to watch something, as most guests just want to be outside at the pool area.
The bottom floor double doors open onto a complete wrap around deck and the beautiful infinity edge pool. The pool has a built in waterfall, swim jet package, and sun shades installed for swimming rain or shine. It is the perfect place to watch the sun rise and set while enjoying the views with a cup of coffee or a toddy in your hand. There is ample seating on the deck for intimate conversation or partying with your friends. Jump in the pool or catch some rays on our comfortable reclining lounge chairs.
If your party is extra large there is an adjacent managers apartment that we sometimes rent out for an extra fee. Though not as extravagent as the main house, it is quite comfortable with it's own kitchen, bedroom and bathroom and huge deck.
We can also arrange transfers to and from the airport in San Jose.
Attractions: Being midway between the two largest beach towns on the Pacific offers many advantages.
Jaco and Quepos offer the best restaurants and nightlife on the coast. Manuel Antonio the best beaches and coves. Los Suenos Resort and Marina, the best in all Central America, includes a world-class marina and championship golf course. The brand new marina in Quepos, Marina Pez Zela, along with Los Suenos, make this area one of the most wonderful bases of operation for sports fishing and snorkeling in all the world.
Adjacent to the estate is Sky Mountain Canopy, which boasts the highest, longest, and best zip line in all of Costa Rica. Paid admission to the canopy tour includes beautiful hiking trails and a real nice waterfall. We can walk, drive, or ride the horses to the waterfall. There is also a wonderful waterfall with 3 different pools (Tres Pilas) at the base of the hill. It is an easy drive and easy hike to these falls.
For those wanting to experience the real Costa Rica without the crowds there are six different beaches just a short half hour drive from the estate.
Some are perfect for swimming and some are world class surf beaches. All are great for picnics, walking, and watching the sun set. Playa Palo Seco, just outside Parrita, and Esterillos to our west, both have several little resorts with wonderful restaurants for memorial sunset dining. Parrita and Playon closer to the hill have many very good Tico restaurants for those who prefer the local cusine and culture.
We offer the use of our Toyota Prado Landcruiser (7 passenger) including driver, for only $150 per day (compare that to Budget or Alamo $150 per day w/no driver). You pay only for the days you need the car. You also pay for the gas. We will take you anywhere you wish to go. If you are comfortable driving yourself we rent the vehicle for $75 per day and show you how to get to where you are going. We have maps and a GPS available. If you have a larger group, we can arrange transfers with a very reliable local driver in a very nice 10 to 12 passenger air conditioned van.
We know a lot of cool places to go and you just sit back and relax.
Driving in CR can be quite the stress-filled adventure, especially at night.
We offer our SUV and driver as an alternative to you having to rent a car.
A few reasons this works for some people:
(1) We pick you up and drop you off at the airport, no hasseling at the car rental
(2) We usually know where we are going, lol.
(3) Bless their hearts, the ticos are the worlds worst drivers
(4) Many of our guests tend to enjoy the nightlife and CR has just recently enacted very stiff DUI penalties so the guests would prefer to just sit back and enjoy the ride. You also just pay for the car the days you use it.
We can usually get you a more affordable rate on transfers locally then you can get on your own.
When you decide on the exact dates we will send you a rental
agreement. You execute the agreement and send it back to us.
We require a 50% deposit forwarded to us.
When the funds are posted your rental date is confirmed. The balance will be due , and payable in US$ funds upon your arrival in Costa Rica.
Email us back and leave a call back number should you have any further questions.
Talk to you soon.

Keywords: Thank you for your inquiry into our vacation rental house, villa, estate. Our guests tell us they see more wildlife during their stay here at the estate than any of the tours they go on. It is a birders paradise and a wildlife lovers dream. There is usually a plethora of butterflies, birds of all kinds, monkeys, iguana’s, and other wildlife for your viewing pleasure. We have stables with 5 horses here on the estate and the younger people really enjoy hanging out with the herd. The estate is in the mountains a 30 minute drive to several beaches. Much closer to the estate there are several waterfalls and a major river. The estate is 25 minutes to Parrita, which is then 20 minutes to Quepos or 30 minutes to Jaco and 2 hours to the airport in San Jose.
We are Randy and Claudia Dains from Idaho, partners in Casa Brisas de la Montana, along with Vern Eames, also from Idaho.
It is our goal here at Casa Brisas to make sure that you have the greatest experience possible on your vacation to beautiful Costa Rica. When you leave we want you to leave with a smile on your face and a treasure trove full of wonderful memories. We, like Disneyland, want to be known as the 'happiest place on earth'.
Randy and Claudia Dains purchased this villa in 2010
We chose Casa Brisas de la Montana because of the absolutely stunning beauty and tranquility of the area. The local 'Ticos' are absolutely the best, most genuine people you will ever want to meet. Living here on 'the hill' is a dream come true for my wife and I.
Secluded, beautiful estate that is close enough to all the major tourist areas to make them easily accessable for a truly exciting vacation. But best of all, they are also easily escapeable for a truely relaxing vacation. You get the best of both!
Our whole family stayed with Randy during Spring Break this past March (2017) and we had an AMAZING time! I would highly recommend staying at the Casa and working with Randy! Randy worked with me for over a year getting plans aligned and making sure our trip was just perfect! He really went above and beyond and gave us an experience we will never forget. Randy uses a group of trusted individuals that he set us up with for tours, excursions, personal cooking, messages, etc. And ALL of them were fantastic! If it wasn't for Randy and his group we wouldn't have had the experience that we did!We always felt well cared for by each of them and really had a blast! The property was beautiful and was very accommodating for all of us. Even our 18 month old loved it! Especially the horses and the baby chicks...which she had to go out and see at least 8 times a day. The views are amazing and you will love the wild life that you are able to see each day. I HIGHLY recommend this Casa and Randy! He was an amazing help and addition to our trip and really made it a success! Because of Randy, we will be returning back to the Casa for future family trips!
Beautiful tropical setting. Randy the owner/host met us in town to stop and pick up groceries before heading up the hill. Don't be fooled, the road is a bit long and bumpy, but once you arrive it's hard to leave. I also high suggest having a 4X4. Waking up every morning to those views was breathtaking and my favorite part. We had 8 adults and everyone had their own personal room/space. But this place is definitely ALL about the OUTDOORS. The pool was so refreshing after a day full of adventures, kitchen was stocked with everything needed to make dinners, and the patio's both upstairs and by the pool were amazing. We were blessed to have the owner/host Randy there to take great care of us. He would come visit with us in the evening to see how our days adventures went and he even joined us on a day hike to Nauyaca Waterfall and dinner in Dominical. One of our adventures was going ziplining for the first time just down the hill a bit. If you stay here you have to try it. Highly recommend and will be back.
So let's hit on the things that matter:
- The house - did it look like the pictures and the description? Yes! House is very nice and unlike some, was as advertised. Beautiful house on a mountain.
- Amenities - how were the extras in the write up? Were they worth it / as advertised? Yes! The zip lining is very convenient, waterfall was close, horse back riding up the hill...all were great. The care taker Randy did a great job recommending these and helping us. For newbies to the area and folks wanting some level of 'valet' service, this property and Randy's help are great. Randy walks the fine line of being around too much / not enough, and he walks the line pretty well. I don't envy him for that one, he does a good job.
- Location - Here's the beef, the listing on the map and in the title lists Quepos, and it is an hour from Quepos. Reality is, we wouldn't have chosen the location if we knew we'd spend an hour each way getting to Quepos and Manual Antonio. I really think this should be corrected in both the listing description and the map. Should say Parrita, not Quespos. This did give us an opportunity to check out some beaches that we otherwise wouldn't have, so we made some lemonade out of some lemons, but it still didn't feel right.
To summarize, great place run by a nice guy Randy who was very, very helpful. Some extras thrown in that some properties wouldn't have had, but be very aware...it is not in Quepo, it is not between Quepos and the national park, it is 30 minutes north of Parrita in the mountains. As long as you're good with that, then this is your place.
This was one of most relaxing vacations ever! The setting was breathtaking with the upper and lower porches overlooking the infinity pool, gorgeous mountains front and back and a view of the pacific ocean. Each of our 4 couples had our own bedroom, plenty of room to sit and visit inside and out, a housekeeper, Magally, who was also an excellent cook, and a groundskeeper, Oscar, who kept the pool clean, took us horseback riding on the property, and demonstrated cracking a coconut open with his machete which we immediately made fresh pina coladas. We saw toucans, scarlet macaws, iguanas, white-faced monkeys, and geckos right from the casa. Randy(one of the owners) provides Wifi, prepaid cell phones to make calls is needed, a thorough list of emergency numbers and contacts, (who speak English) for places to go eat and play. He was there our week, so he even escorted us to the grocery store, the beach, to a local waterfall for a swim, and a banana plantation giving us his unique and colorful descriptions of Costa Rican life. We could have done much more, but honestly, we were content on the property. Randy was great at balancing our time with him and giving us our privacy, too. Will we go back someday? ABSOLUTELY!
What a great place to get away. Yes- the road was long and bumpy but it only made you appreciate the beauty once you drove into the 60 acre estate perched high on the mountain. The house was as pretty as the pictures. Oscar, the care taker was wonderful at his job and cut down coconuts daily so we could fix our lunch drinks! He then took four of us on a horseback adventure. Have Magelly fix you a wonderful meal as you sip your favorite drink outside listening to the birds, monkeys and other wildlife. But the best has to be Randy- I learned so much from him about the culture of Costa Rica. What a trip!
This house was great. Very clean, plenty of room, and beautiful views. Not to forget the great pool and marathon valley all games. We were a four couple group. Fernan picked us up at the airport in a very clean late model van. He was very knowledgeable and accomdating. Riding the horses, we were really able to experience the real Costa Rica countryside, beautiful! There was Wi-Fi at the house so you could checkout what was going on if you really had to. We highly suggest you have Magolly cook a dinner or two for you, very good. The house is isolated, but Randy was great running us around and sharing him knowledge of the area. This is a great place!
