This is my own personal retreat in Flagstaff. Many of my guests return year after year. They call the condo "the treehouse". It is unique in that it sits on the side of a hill and balconies are up to 14feet off the ground surrounded by beautiful blue spruce and pine trees. There are no steps to bother with in winter time to enter the condo. It's just minutes to everything. GREAT LOCATION in upscale neighborhood. Just a little over an hour to the Grand Canyon and 45 minutes to Sedona. Walnut ponds across the street.
Betty Fore purchased this condo in 2005
I always look forward to my retreats at the condo. It's a great place to relax and unwind. And scenic Flagstaff has so much to offer in the outdoors, surrounding towns, canyons ruins, museums etc . The Arizona -Mexico trail starts just minutes from the condo and ruins are nearby to explore. You can see scenic Mt. Elden from the balcony and it offers great trails for hiking and biking. It's just 8 minutes to the trails(across from the Marketplace mall). 45 minute drive to Sedona for a day trip to shop and take in its beauty - travel there by the old route (not the freeway) so you can enter by Oak Creek Canyon which is in the top 10 most scenic drives in America. Grand Canyon is about an hour and a half easy drive.. A must do! Or drive to the top of Snow Bowl ski resort in the summer and take the lift for 300 mile views! You will find lots of literature and information on the sites in the condo. Downtown offers the Pub Crawl for visits to the various breweries around town. And there are lots of fun interesting shops restaurants, and nightclubs downtown.
Location, Location, Location! Backs up to the National forest with lots of wildlife and quiet scenic area of Flagstaff. Just minutes to restaurants, shopping and activities.Walk to the Country Club to the fitness center, Oakmont Restaurant, driving range, and tennis. Now offering pickle ball too. Don't be surprised to spot an elk, eagle, or deer in the area while enjoying a cool drink on the balcony in the evening.
Condo was accurately described by owner and we enjoyed the location and accommodations! It was our first time to Flag for an extended stay, we live in Phoenix. The location was very good, easy walk to several hikes in the woods and 10 minutes to downtown Flagstaff. Condo was well equipped and comfortable. We are considering going back for another month next summer. Owner was helpful in answering my questions prior to our stay.
The good: Owner was willing to rent to a pet owner. Communications and calls were fast and friendly. Location is wonderful. 1.25-1.5 hours from Grand Canyon, 45 mins to Sedona, 2 hours to Page, AZ. Many many outdoor activity options nearby, including the Campbell Mesa trailhead which is within walking distance. The property is spacious and non-smoking. Two balconies (although we only ever used the main one). Beds are comfortable. Good wifi. There's a grill with fuel on the patio for your use.
The not as good: While generally clean, there were some issues with bathrooms and linens upon arrival. Some things are in good condition; others are not. In one bath, the fan is non-functional and the hot/cold is hooked up backwards. Be aware that if you take a shower in that bath with the door open, you are likely to set off the smoke alarm in the hall. The hot water is plentiful but can take some time to arrive. The ignitor on the grill is broken. We replaced missing lightbulbs in both bathrooms ourselves. Knives are dull, and there is an over-abundance of stuff in the kitchen (could use some "less is more" attention/organizing). The refrigerator filter was signaling the need for replacement when we arrived. Be ready for a workout when you vacuum; it's very heavy and bulky. There is no DVD player. It would have been nice to be able to use the fireplace on colder days.
If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. All-in-all, it was a good month-long stay.
Grand Canyon (1 hour 20 minutes away), Antelope Canyon, Canyon De Chelly National Monument, Ride the Rapids in the Grand Canyon, beautiful Lake Powell, Sedona, Walnut Canyon Monument (1 mile behind condo) with remarkable formations and ancient cliff dwellings, breathtaking views of the cliffs. You can ride bike, horse, and hike the trail. It goes all the way to Mexico! Heard Museum is a must also.
