2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom Sleeps Up To 5, Close Access To Canal St Martin & Marais

The apartment is situated on the 5th floor and the building has an elevator. It has a large dining room and living room with a sofa bed for one person. There are two cosy bedrooms, one with queen size bed and the second bedroom has twin beds plus a sofa, this allows sleeping for up to five guests. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. The first bathroom has a full bath tub with shower allowing you to relax in a hot bath after a day of exploring the sights of Paris. The second bathroom has a newly renovated shower. The apartment has a large fully equipped kitchen with a washing machine.

The apartment is situated in rue de Lancry, just next door to one of Paris' most well-known area Canal St Martin, famous for its trendy restaurants and shops not to mention the beautiful canal it self.

It is within easy walking distance of Marais, Notre Dame, place de La Repulique and Bastille. Easy transport access to the famous Champs Elysées, Louvre, St Germain and Montmartre. The closest metro station is only 20 meters from the apartment. Surrounded by local restaurants, cafés and bars, a true Parisian 'quartier' yet far from tourist hordes - and tourist prices!

This area is ideal for those who want to experience the 'real' Paris away from the usual tourist traps but still be nearby all the famous tourist destinations.

There is a public parking station (paying) nearby for those with cars which can be booked in advance.

"Gare du Nord" which is the Eurostar station is (20-minute walk or 5 minute by train)

1)There are no guests leaving that day and you need an early check in :

-Before 10 am : 50€

-Between 10am and 2pm : 25€.

2)There are guests leaving at 11am :

- 12pm / noon check in : 25€.


Check ins between 6pm and 9pm will be charged 25€ on arrival.


If there is nobody coming in on the day of your departure, we are happy to let you use the apartment until your departure time without enforcing the 11am check out. No extra fees.

On arrival, we expect guests to be respectful of neighbours and keep noise to a minimum in the stairwell while they get into the apartment.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. Our stay was absolutely wonderful.

The flat is just as charming as shown in the photos. My group was comprised of 3-- my sister, adult daughter and I—and we had more than enough room. The flat is well laid out with large, bright, airy rooms and the kitchen is quite well-equipped. We stayed for a week at the end of May, beginning of June and we hated to leave.

I had had some concern prior to arriving, about not having air conditioning, as the weather was unseasonable hot, but my worries were unfounded. The flat is on the top floor, and the cross breeze from the windows kept the flat cool.

Michelle was awesome and responded quickly whenever I reached out.

Beyond loving the apartment, we also enjoyed the neighborhood. The location is the other part of the equation. It is quite lively but not overrun with people like the more touristy areas. There are restaurants, shops and markets all around and metro stations are close. It is also felt very safe.

I highly recommend.

Wonderful Paris Apartment near Canal St Martin

We had a great stay in our apartment. It was beautifully furnished in the French style with comfortable beds and all items you could want. Very quiet location on the 5th floor overlooking a peaceful courtyard. No city or traffic noise. Very clean and comfortable place to return to to charge your batteries after exploring the city, Great neighborhood as well. Michelle was there to meet us and was very helpful. I would highly recommend this apartment!

Authentic and Charming!

This lovely apartment was just as inviting in person as the photos appear, maybe even more, as the photos do not show how the windows open onto an open courtyard with a cobblestone patio and trees below. Fresh air and sunshine abound! The colorful painting on the living room wall was just delightful and the pretty wood trim and old brass knob handled on the windows throughout had just the old- world feel I desired! However, everything was functional and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped and had all modern appliances. Being on the 5th floor ( don't worry-- there is an elevator) it was incredibly quiet, especially at night when you didn't hear a sound despite being very near stores and restaurants. There are two subway stations a short walk away. The Republique square was a wonderful landmark to identify for reference, and just up the street. You could easily walk to shops and restaurants, and the Marais shopping area. Also the canals nearby made a lovely stroll. Michelle and Caroline and were great hosts, and we used their driver to get us from the airport-- made the transfer SO easy! Highly recommend this place!!

Delightful Paris Apartment

The apartment was perfect for the four of us, with a private bath for each couple. Everything was there that we needed. I was very clean. We had a little trouble with the washing machine, but our call for help was responded to very quickly. We loved the antiques! It was a lovely, quiet spot to enjoy a glass of wine after a long day of sightseeing in Paris.

An oasis in the middle of Paris

The apartment was lovely! ...just like the pictures...charming, comfortable, clean and well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed "coming home" after a day out and about. Plus there are wonderful restaurants and shops very close by (Can't stop dreaming about the baked goods at Du Pain et Des Idees!!!) Thank you Mats for being such a gracious host and providing your suggestions.

Beautiful flat in a very convenient location

We went to Paris to spend new year´s eve with my family of five adults. From the beginning Mats, the owner, was very helpful and even organized our pick up at the airport! That was a kind detail, we has to make a long travel from Santiago, Chile to get to Paris! Once we got to the apartment we noticed that this was exactly as it was described: beautiful and very spacious. Since we where 5v adults, with 2 daughters , one son and me & husband, having two bedrooms and two baths was so perfect!. Everything was neat and clean. The apartment had everything you need to make a comfortable living while in Paris. I would say that the space was a luxury, we stayed before in another apartment and space was an issue. This one was perfect for a nice living and even to get friends to come along for dinner as we had! Mats was so kind to leave a booklet with info&tips and about the neighborhood, the metro, restaurants, etc, perfect to get around. We would definitely go back to this lovely apartment next time we are in Paris, it´s perfect!

The Canal St. Martin is a calm and peaceful, attracting more Parisians than tourists. Romantic iron footbridges and tree-lined streets the perfect and truly authentic Parisian atmosphere this district has to offer.

A walk around the neighborhood you will find independent shops and high-end boutiques. Like for example Antoine et Lili shops (95 quai de Valmy), a trio of colorful stores selling endearing pieces of home decor and furniture, children's and women's clothing. You love high-end vintage clothing? Then you must go to Thanx God I'm a V.I.P. (12 rue de Lancry), a two-level, 200m2 vintage store selling Hermes, YSL, Burberry, and Lanvin. Open 7 days a week, Artazart (83 quai de Valmy) is filled with art and design books, Lomo cameras and other hip arty gadgets. Centre Commercial (2 rue de Marseille), is a loft-style boutique featuring brands chosen for their impact on social and environmental issues. Further down the street is the boutique A.P.C. (5 rue de Marseille).

With all the restaurants in the neighborhood you will never go hungry here! Grab a drink and a meal with friends at the legendary Hotel du Nord (102 quai de Jemmapes), around since 1885 and famous for being in the 1938 Marcel Carné movie. Du Pain et des Idées (34 rue Yves Toudic) THE bakery in the area, frequented by Parisians and tourists for its traditional pastries with twists like for example matcha green tea croissants. Mingle your way through the crowds for a seat at the terrace of bistro Chez Prune (71 quai de Valmy), or have a gluten-free meal at Helmut Newcake (36 rue Bichat). If you're on a budget do like the locals and go to Le Cambodge (20 rue Alibert), which serves delicious Cambodian cuisine in a canteen-like setting.

If you choose to picnic instead of sitting in a restaurant, be sure to get some delicious authentic and modern cakes from the House of 3 Brothers (25 rue de Lancry). You can also head over to the renovated 18th century convent Maison de l'architecture en Ile-de-France (148 rue du Faubourg Saint-Martin) to marvel at the architecture-related expositions held in this old chapel. Once you're there, make sure to drop by Café A, it's terrace is a popular hangout in the summer.

If you're too lazy to walk along the quai by foot, book a Canauxrama boat cruise (2 hours and 30 minutes), which takes you through four double locks and two swing bridges before ending at the Bassin de la Villette area.

But that is just a few things the Canal St Martin area has to offer. Much more is to be seen when you visit and the best thing is simply "put on your sunglasses and stroll around to discover".
