Our family had a little pre Christmas getaway and this was the perfect place. The property was amazing
We had such an amazing time from the moment we walked in the door! This home had everything! We wish we could have stayed longer! :) We will definitely be coming back again and also referring all of our Colorado Springs friends! Thank you!
We loved it, what a beautiful space! Everything worked out well. The Master shower was clogged when we got there but we worked around it. Thanks!
This is a beautiful, well built custom home. I loved the beam work, 8' doors and walls of windows everywhere, though we would love to see some blackout drapes added so we could have slept in!
We comfortably slept, entertained & fed 9 adults and 5 kids in this home. It was well kept and clean, everyone said their beds were comfy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the master sheets were such good quality! I always bring my own, because wether it's a 5 star hotel or similar Vacation rental, in all my years of traveling I have never stayed anywhere with sheets I could tolerate, so I had to include that in my review! If you are a sheet snob staying in the master bedroom, you won't be disappointed!
One thing to consider, the main area is very echo-y so all the bedrooms except the ones in the basement can hear any conversation happening in the main area. This wasn't an issue for us, but if you have kids that are light sleepers, you may want to keep them downstairs!
The guest bedroom on the main level doesn't have a closet or bathroom access, they have to use the master or a bath on another level, so it's technically a study fitted with a bed. That would have been helpful to know, but again, wasn't an issue.
A note for the chef: the kitchen was great to work in, even cooking for a large group, the cookware however needs updating and the fridge was small; we ended up having to use coolers and were only there 2 nights! As for the cookware, there is only one large pot, 2 medium ones, and no large skillet, so I didn't have enough cookware to cook dinner, so that was disappointing. I ended up precooking in shifts then keeping warm in one of the glass bowls. Not ideal.
Last but not least, the puzzle in the rec room will drive you insane. It is easily the most difficult puzzle I have ever attempted. Bring your own unless you are OK leaving it unfinished.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this place, and would love to return. I'll just bring my own cookware & puzzle. : )
Cleanliness not up to par. One of pillows was stained horribly. Not sure the bed covers and pillow cases get cleaned after every stay. Owner/Manager very responsive to a few issues we had. We learned upon arrival that leaving food and condiments behind after trip was permissible. We don't believe in this policy. The refrigerator door was completely full of food and items we did not want or need and left no room for our own food so we cleaned out what was there and threw away. Strange policy. House was advertised to have air conditioning but did not, but was not needed anyway do to cool temperatures. It would have been nice to have ceiling fans to get some air flow. Being from Florida and Texas our group is accustomed to air flow and even though A/C is not needed, some movement would have been helpful on the days and nights there wasn't a breeze to bring the cool air in. Noisy neighbors across the street with dogs and partying in the middle of the night. Not sure they were renters or permanent residents. The kitchen was well-stocked with cooking utensils and pots, pans, plates and silverware. No complaints there. Would have liked to see a coffee table in living room upstairs and downstairs and a bit more seating in those areas. Good property, not great, but certainly serviceable for our needs.
Our whole group was impressed with the property. Everything inside and outside the house was maintained and in excellent condition. Everyone wanted to immediately book the house again for next year.
