About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 6)

BOULDER CREEK RETREATS is a wonderful place to come & spend time with your family, friends or just the '2 of you' :) It has recently been remodeled & furnished, practically everything is NEW!!! Our spacious, comfortable home sleeps 6 people, has three bedrooms, two baths, a very relaxing living room, separate dining area, large kitchen (purposely oversupplied), and an extra Bonus room upstairs - it's great for those who want to watch something different, play games, read a book quietly, work on a puzzle or take a simple nap. PRIVACY ? NOT A PROBLEM, the property reclines on one acre, high up in the mountains, surrounded by an outstanding view of the Cascade Mountain range, full of greenery, trees and wildlife. At times, you can listen to our seasonal creek as it runs by.

This home truly has a 'Welcoming Way' of its own. As you enter through its French doors, it feels like you will want to stay FOREVER. *We always have it ready for you* Day or night, the lighting is perfect, the stereo is on softly or the TV, whichever you prefer and your greeted with the warmth of a fire. Special requests are encouraged & if it's in our power, we will do it!

Before I begin the verbal tour of this awesome home. I must say the wrap around decks add quite the tone for your excursion. They allow you to view a variety of panoramic views, from sun rays peeking through the forest, to open landscaping with decorative trees, lawn and a quaint creek rolling by, to the towering mountains above. The front part of the porch area is covered, so no matter what the weather, guess what, we have you covered. (No pun intended) So go ahead and get that latte, have a little sip and look out and say to yourself 'WOW, this is unbelievable!' The deck includes an 6 man Hot Tub with lounging chairs all around, plus there is a BBQ gas grill just in case :)

Unfortunately, Pets are not allowed

Main Floor:

*Living Room has very substantial viewing windows and the 3 couches accommodate your ease of enjoying the life of the forest. The home fires from the wood stove provide an appealing atmosphere and we aim to provide as much wood as it takes to keep that happening. DSL Internet works day & night, as long as you can keep your eyes open! We also wall mounted the 40' Satellite TV so everyone could see! The 100 channel choices will make it interesting for those TV controllers? if you know what I mean :) But that's OK because we have more than one TV. There is a DVD / VHS player with lots of Free VHS movies to watch and if you want to unplug, wind down and just be still for awhile, turn on the compact CD Stereo player with your favorite music or the AM/FM.

*Kitchen is off of the Living Room for easy access. Get my point :) Those little late night snacks are calling! We know from experience that the kitchen area is large enough for 2 cooks to wheel away at their gourmet meals. It is well supplied with kitchenware and cookware including coffee, tea and customary spices, just in case they were left behind. For your convenience there is a storage shelves for all your non-refrigerated items.

*Laundry Room is next to the kitchen with washer, dryer and hamper. So if you get dirty, don't worry. There are windows viewing the front lawn, foliage and decorative trees with a door leading outside to the side yard and creek.

*Bathroom is off of living & dining room areas next to the master bedroom, very convenient. It is very well lit for those morning make overs and included are toiletries, quality thick towels of various sizes and of course a tub & shower combo.

*Dining Room is perfect for 6 people, lots of elbow room! The dining table is quite unusual, it has a glass table top with marble stands. You will be sure to enjoy each other, as you share in the goodies prepared for you. The window view is of the peaceful forest, with the sun rays glimmering through,as only they can.

*Master Bedroom is a rather substantial suite off with a King size ultra-comfortable bed, the finest linen, heating blanket for those really cold nights and a warm comforter. Also furnished with chests of drawers, night stand with good lighting - just for that novel you've been meaning to finish & an oversized closet, trust me, there will be room. You do have accessibility to a semi-private deck that sits around the corner from the spa. The view is exquisite! The country side 'shows off' with the majestic mountains as its back drop.

*Bonus Room has a double size Futon, pillows and throw blanket to watch the 27' TV placed in cabinet with drawers for clothing. A DVD-VHS player sits above. Come on 'Lets play' There's free VHS movies from a selection of 105, an abundant supply of adult & children's games, plus puzzles galore.

*2nd Bedroom is exactly like the master bedroom, same furnishings, except it has Queen size bed instead.

*Bathroom is set between the bedrooms. Fantastic lighting with a sky light. Plenty of toiletries & towels. It has a nice shower.

*3rd Bedroom has day bed with trundle and a night stand.

'All in All' it's a short drive to ski resorts, adventure park, hiking trails, the rivers, restaurants, shopping and evening entertainment.

About Carol Davies

My husband & I have lived here for over 24 years and have enjoyed the seasonal changing views, the peace and quiet, the company of our furry friends and the small, quaint Mt. Hood community with all of its unending activities. We love spending time with our children and especially those cute grandkids!

Our friends are very important to us, so we have a lot going on. Our favorite things to do are read, keep physically fit, go for hikes, do some fishing & boating along with swimming.

Carol Davies purchased this house in 1993

Why Carol Davies chose Brightwood

We choose to move here because of the beauty that captivates us when we are up in the Cascade Mountains. The small local communities and all of its variety is definitely a plus and everything is easily accessible. There is never a dull moment and so many fun things to do. When we want some 'R & R' its right here too!

What makes this house unique

The warm, cozy feeling and the lay out of the home which allows for easy access and communicating. We enjoy the grounds, there are lots of places for outdoor funnin' and a place for the kids to romp. The area where the Hot Tub sits gives you privacy even when others are around. The best part is the occasional Elk or Deer that roam by

Guestbook comments from the owner

I rate it 5/5 in any category - great communication with host, great warm cozy house, comfortable beds, spectacular views and total isolation from the busy city life. You will want to come back... We will!

Relaxing, tranquil getaway

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this Brightwood home. The host supplied us with everything we needed and we were able to make ourselves very at home and comfortable. The "cabin" was very spacious, especially for two. She was also readily available via text and email before and during our stay. The property itself was beautiful, we even had a deer sighting. We were able to cook almost all of our meals on the grill (except for some delicious grilled cheese sandwiches, which we made on the stove). My boyfriend and I had a great time and were very relaxed and rejuvenated. My only complaint is that I wish we were able to stay longer!

Fun getaway

  • 5 of 5

My six year old kept calling this “the awesome house” and didn’t want to leave. Lots of entertainment, games (with all the pieces!! When does that happen with a rental?) , fireplace, hot tub, wi-if, heated blanket, and kitchen had everything we needed to cook including spices and coffee! We thoroughly enjoyed our long days on the mountain then winding down with hot tub soaks and family time. Thank you so much Carol!

Amazing Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our group had a great time staying at Carol's home! Everything was set up for us when we arrived, including the fireplace! The home was in close proximity to shops and restaurants, as well as a short drive to the mountain. We recommend this home to anyone looking fora nice time near Mount Hood.

Wonderful Place - absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

When we entered the property we were immediately amazed at how beautiful the grounds and surrounding area is, the place is well cared for. This definitely carried over into the house which was furnished very comfortably and had everything we needed and more! Carol is a great hostess, we arrived early (with her permission) and was able to meet her as she was at the house to turn on lights so she gave us a quick tour to show us around. She also provided a very helpful folder with information on the house and nearby areas to eat, shop or book activities. We found this location a perfect place to base our day adventures up the hill to Mt Hood Ski Bowl, Timberline Lodge and Mt Hood Meadows. The house is spacious enough that we could choose different indoor activities and not get in each other's way; read a book in the upstairs loft, watch tv downstairs, prepare a snack or meal in the kitchen catch up on sleep in the bedrooms or chill in the hot tub with enough room in the common areas for everyone to gather and spend time together. This is a truly special place and we hope to be able to return.

Fabulous home to retreat to with family!

  • 5 of 5

We needed a family escape vacation after a tough spring. This home was PERFECT. The home was clean, stocked with the basics and comfy and cozy. The surrounding property was quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the birds & spotting bunnies and deer. We cooked breakfast & dinner often at home & then went out adventuring for the day with our two year old. The house was a perfect central location to so many things! We explored the Mt Hood area & enjoyed discovering some great restaurants and coffee shops. Mt Hood Coffee was delish! Wrapitutde was super yummy & such a cool spot to eat outside & let our kiddo run around. Lake Trillium was AWESOME - went swimming & picnicked here three afternoons in a row. Went up to Timberline for an afternoon hike. We even went back into Portland for a day to explore the awesome zoo. We LOVED this area & look forward to returning soon!
