Your Own Oasis in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This house is as advertised and more. It is actually bigger than it appears in the pictures. It is immaculate and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, glassware, pots and pans. The bakery really is across the street and we visited it frequently during our visit. The five of us (all adults) had plenty of room. The house is also in a great location to easily get back down to Honolulu and quickly to all the surrounding beautiful beaches and the Dole Plantation. You have plenty of privacy at the house both inside and outside. Every morning and evening during our visit we were outside enjoying the patio. The landlord was great about communicating with me during the booking, before our arrival and upon our departure. We highly recommend staying at this house.

Clean, well-managed, great location

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience with a "private rental" and I will say it was a great experience. The managers were tremendously responsive to our needs, and a personal visit to remedy a chirping smoke detector was extremely appreciated. We knew if we had any issue, they were only a text or call away.

The house itself is a relatively new renovation. The mini-split AC in each bedroom was great since we all like to sleep at different temperatures. The outside seating was great for quiet times. The wifi worked well. Definitely heed the warning about the gate and toes. For our family of 7, it was perfect.

The location of the house is convenient and secure. We were there during New Year's, so we had a lot of local fireworks. Other than that, it is relatively quiet. The bakery and store next door are convenient and a bonus. The town of Haleiwa is just down the street and provides the right balance of small town and conveniences. We used Surf-n-Sea for our watersport rental needs. They were awesome! Travel to the other side of the island was not difficult, so having the quiet base of operations was better than staying in the more populated areas of the island.

We can definitely recommend staying here, and if we return to Oahu, we would stay there again. Many thanks to Shawn and Jessica!

New, spacious and comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

The property is new, modern, spacious and very comfortable with three bathrooms. Two bedrooms have double beds and two bedrooms can be configured with single or double beds. Parking for two inside the gate and parking for one on the street if necessary. The gazebo is a nice touch to sit outside when it rains and to watch the chickens that roam the yard. Everything was about thirty minutes away - skydiving, snorkeling, hikes, waterfalls, different beaches, and the airport. There is a neighborhood convenience store, a great local bakery and a unique thrift store two minutes away on the corner. Very good location with friendly neighbors. Be sure to look for Sam the parrot around dinnertime on his daily walk. Easy check in and out and had no problems during the stay.

I would recommend the property without hesitation.

Amazing family time

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 8, including Grandparents came together here and loved staying at this home. It gave us all the space we needed. The patio outside was a gathering place for us day and night. We were able to be outside and be shaded and those of us that wanted to lay in the sun were able to so on the lounge chaise out on the lawn. The kitchen was spacious and we also grilled outside a few times. I just can't say enough how pleased we are about our stay. Memories for life!

A home away from home in classic old Hawaii!

  • 5 of 5

This is not Waikiki! Most people think of Oahu as a touristy busy place that is just one step below the busiest of cities. For that reason, many tourist end up going to Kauai or Maui to get the old fashioned Hawaiian experience. Well, I am here to tell everyone, that the best way to experience Hawaii is to come to Oahu and stay on the north shore in Haleiwa. Cutest old Hawaiian town with restaurants, gourmet food trucks shopping and so much local personality! We went to both state park beaches and local hidden beaches. Many of the beaches we went to, had only a few people on them and we had the pleasure of being joined by green turtles. One of the best parts of our local experience, was staying at the Swell House. We felt like we were not tourists, but temporary locals. The house is right across the street from a local bakery and store that we bought fresh Malasadas from every morning. The Swell House has a very large fenced yard with a gate that makes the property feel like your own private paradise. The large gazebo/deck in the yard was our evening activity. We would listen to music and drink our drinks. My kids found catching geckos a popular past time and we also enjoyed picking the various fruit growing in the yard. The house felt large and like-new with 4 large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large living room and kitchen. Each room had it own controllable a/c as well as the main living area, which allowed for everyone to have their preferred climate in their private spaces. All necessities were provided and the laundry facilities allowed us to enjoy our lightly packed bags! I highly recommend staying at the Swell house for your vacation and it will be the only house we book when we come back! Aloha!
