We had a wonderful stay in this studio on Grace Bay! Linda had a taxi meet us at the airport and she was at the Resort for a meet and greet. The studio is in a great location on Grace Bay. We cooked many meals on the induction stove, which honestly surprised us at how well it worked. The deck was nice for morning coffee and evening drinks. The fridge in the unit did have a hard time making ice quick enough for us, however we just got as much ice as we wanted at the bar/restaurant and put into large baggies and placed in the freezer. The VIP chairs and umbrellas on the beach were great and we enjoyed the free bottled water. The 2 attendants were nice and had a cooler for us if we needed it. I would recommend renting a car for a couple of days. We really enjoyed the Island and other beaches. Our favorite restaurant was within walking distance of the Resort...Mr Grouper. We brought an entire suitcase full of food with us since grocery prices are high. We did eat at the Resort Restaurant only once and found it mediocre at best. Overall the unit was perfect for us. Linda even helped us with our departure to the Airport on our last day. Hope to be back!!
The Alexandra is in a great location. Very centrally located. We took the shuttle to both the Blue Haven and Beach House (which is in walking distance to the Fish Fry hint), amd took a cab or walked everywhere else. We did rent a car for about a day and a half. Which is worth it. The property in general is well maintained and Linda's property was as well. Like other guests noted, there are extremely strict about their policies regard hotel guests vs VIP (which would be private owners). As long as you are ok with that, you will not have a problem. They would not let us use the bikes which was a bummer, and we heard some scary stories from other renters about what happen when they tried to use the pool chairs. But the owners have their own private area on the beach, with their own chairs/umbrellas, a guy that brings water, and their own non-motorized water equipment. All for free. The money we saved by renting from Linda instead of making a hotel reservation was large enough that I don't mind not being able to use the bikes. Overall a great time in Turks
My wife and I have stayed that this property multiple times and have never been disappointed. The unit is well cared for and very clean. The resort is direct ocean front and one one of the nicest parts of Grace Bay.
I very much recommend this unit.
This was our third time visiting Turks and Caicos and the beautiful waters and beaches never disappoint. However this condo was disappointing. Immediately upon arrival we were informed (not in her listing as it should have been) that as a renter from owner and not directly from resort we were not allowed to sit on the lounge chairs by the pool. We could swim in the pool but once out of the pool, we could not lounge by the pool, we would have to go back to the beach chairs or room to sit. When I complained to owner I was told that their association was trying to negotiate this with the resort but at this time that was just the way that it was and I had to accept that. I was told that this was mentioned in the listing but clearly was not). We came to realize after a few embarrassing interactions with the staff that our "VIP" club status (renters from owners not from resort) really signified "Very Insignificant Person" with the white towels. The resort patrons were given blue towels (refreshed on a daily basis which ours were not) to signify their preferred status. So in addition to not being allowed to sit by the pool, this also meant that you were not " welcomed" to the Monday night "welcome" cocktail party, not welcome to use their bicycles, not welcome to use their hobie cat boat, not welcome to use the swim up bounce/lounge device in the ocean. We were also given the "non preferred" time to reserve a spot at the on site restaurant beach BBQ dinner (which by the time our reservation allowed us a table, there was barely any food left and therefore a very poor value). We were given 2 "blue" towels by the manager and told we could "pretend" that we were entitled to sit by the pool and we might not be challenged by the pool attendant. Besides the unwelcoming atmosphere as a VIP renter, the unit itself was ok but the washer and kitchen sink leaked and the freezer in the very small fridge had not been defrosted and was so frosted up we could not get the ice trays out. We had to buy a cooler and go out to the store every day to buy ice for our beverages. The fridge was barely cold enough for our food but not cold enough for our beverages. Managers response to this "Oh really". We were only able to get reception on the television 1 night out of 10. Managers response to this was "we addressed this at our last association meeting and it is a known problem that they are trying to resolve". Bottom line, beautiful beach, unwelcoming resort and disappointing unit.
Our stay at the Alexandra Resort was absolutely as expected, our host Linda provided the very best customer service and made sure the property was clean and amply stocked with utensils and other essentials. I would recommend working with Linda as she proved patient and helpful as we decided over properties. Most of all, however, the amenities were not exaggerated - the location on Grace Bay - everything met our expectations. Thank you Linda!
This was our second time to T&C. We definitely enjoyed our studio at the Alexandra resorts. The studio was as posted in the pictures and described in the listing. It had everything needed. We did have a minor issue with the washer and dryer but Linda was very responsive and had someone out to repair it the next. The lounge chairs and umbrellas at the beach are great. The VIP beach attendant was great. Free bottle water and kayaks, paddle boards, etc... The view from restaurant at the resort, Aku, is just gorgeous and the food there is fine. I did miss the previous restaurant, Mango Reef, that used to be there previously. Mango Reef did move down the street at the harbor. We did go to Mango Reef during our visit for breakfast towards the end of our trip and the food was great and the price was reasonable for the island. Probably the best breakfast we had on the island. Anyways, I would highly recommend the studio and resort! Thanks Linda for the wonderful stay!
This studio is located in the Alexandra Resort.
