The Vineyard Perch is a tastefully decorated home that is at once both large and cozy. Strategically placed on a stunning perch overlooking the vineyards of the Alexander Valley and the hillsides of Sonoma, the home is reminiscent of a country estate and comes complete with all the amenities to make your vacation getaway special. With the seasonal creek that runs through the property and feeds into the Russian River, the 8-acre parcel and its surrounding area couldn't be more perfect. 90 miles north of San Francisco and just 10 miles from Healdsburg's square, the Perch is located in the best part of Sonoma County in a little town called Geyserville. Surrounded by beautiful, serene mountain views, you are able to enjoy an escape that includes all manner of nature, including bald eagles / hawks / osprey circling overhead, horses in neighboring pastures, and foxes and wild turkeys traversing the property.
There are 2 master suites and 3 other large bedrooms. The kitchen is a chef's dream and may have the best views on the property. The sunken family room is large, cozy and strategically located next to the kitchen for easy entertaining. The living room / dining room area is a beautiful open space that highlights the panoramic views overlooking the Alexander valley and the pool area. And, the entire house is set up for indoor - outdoor living with french doors leading from the dining room, living room, pool and main level master bedroom right out to the back patio and pool area.
And, there is plenty of space to get away.
If you ever decide to leave the comfort of the Perch, there is something for everyone to do.
- For the wine aficionado there are an unbelievable number of great wineries within 10-12 miles that touch on all aspects: great boutique wineries (Robert Young, Hawkes), fun wineries (Meeker, Francis Ford Coppola, Unti), Zin'o'philes (Rafanelli, Ridge, Pasalaqua, Bella), Cab fans (Silver Oak, Hanna, Lancaster), Pinot (Ferrari Carano, Dutcher Crossing, Michel Schlumber), and Chardonnay (Stonestreet, Ferrari Carano, Quivera).
- For the foodies, there are all types in the spectrum from the casual to the fine dining: Dry Creek Kitchen, John Ash on the formal side, to some of our local favorites including Catelli's and Diavola in town (Geyserville), and Rustic on campus at Francis Ford Coppola.
- For the active / outdoor members of your group, we are adjacent to miles of hiking, biking, horseback riding paths, and all types of boating at Lake Sonoma.
This special property is conveniently located off highway 101 and yet feels as though it is a world away.

We are a family that love the outdoors. We love getting away to the Perch and hiking, bike riding or swimming
We love to cook and entertain and to have friends / family join us on our getaways. Also, we enjoy exploring the local restaurants, which has yielded some new favorites like Catelli's (absolutely amazing Italian food) and Diavola (crazy good pizza and salumi).
Lisa purchased this chateau / country house in 2011
Like many kids from San Francisco, from the time I was born, the Russian River has always a special get-away for me, as I grew up visiting my grandparents at a cabin that became the family vacation home. We chose Geyserville as it is an easy drive from San Francisco, has amazing weather, and is surrounded by a ton of things to do for the adults and the family. Long known as a destination for road-bikers, the rest of us are just now catching on to the beauty, serenity, and wealth of active alternatives in the area. And, who wouldn't like all the great wineries in the area?
We met, 9 woman, from all over the US, to regroup, relax and rejuvenate. We were not let down. Beautiful, spacious, clean home. Plenty of room for all to have their own place and for all to gather with ease. Great location, never more than 30 minutes to shopping, restaurants, wine tasting, natural historical beauty.
A kitchen of my dreams, cozy beds, hot showers and views to enjoy morning and night.
I would rent this home again in a minute. Cannot wait for my next visit.
Thank you to the amazing owners for sharing their home with us.
Perfect setting for our retirement party. Spacious, beautiful views and good location.
First of all, Lisa is a delight. My only regrets from this trip is 1) I didn't have a chance to meet her in person and 2) we didn't book The Perch for a longer stay. We will make sure to do both next time - and we are already trying to plan another trip back to this magical place.
We booked The Perch for my mother's 70th birthday with my two brothers' and their families. I have to say that the pictures really sold us on the location from the size/decor of the home to the views and proximity to wine country there seemed to be something for everyone - pool and game rooms for the kids (we hardly saw them they were so entertained) to everything I just mentioned for the adults. The rooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. The kitchen was enormous with every kind of serving dish, applicance and accessory that we needed. We enjoyed a family style meal every night on the patio with views that belonged on postcards.
The home was beautifully decorated and if I could pick any vacation home anywhere, I would choose this one, hands down. The furnishings were gorgeous and comfortable at the same time with rooms that seamlessly blended into each other. The format was open throughout. We felt at home the moment we stepped in through the front door. The only thing stuffy about the home is the cushions that you just want to sink into when you weren't outside admiring the view. The kids are already picking their bedrooms for our next visit. The star-gazing was tremendous and the neighbors that we met very friendly.
I cannot recommend The Perch highly enough!
Thank you to Lisa for making my mother's 70th birthday memorable and special.
We have stayed in the area for years and couldn't have been happier with all that this amazing home has to offer. Not only is it perfect for enjoying the outdoors in the wine country, but the kitchen is so well stocked you can do some real cooking! The views are the best in the area and Lisa personally made the experience exceptional. She took the time to make sure the music was working, the house was ready for us and she walked us through the property to show us how to work everything. In this case, what you see if what you get and yes, it's as magnificent as it looks in the pictures (maybe better!).
We visited with 3 other couples after a conference in San Francisco and I can't speak highly enough about the experience. From the moment you walk in the door you feel the warmth and comfort of the home. The interior decor is impeccable with all the comforts of home. Plenty of space so that if some folks wanted to read or watch TV, there are places to do both. In fact, the home has what I would consider 3 living rooms as well as a pool room - bonus!! On top of it all, the kitchen is a cook's dream. The bedrooms are all extremely comfortable and another bonus is there are two master bedrooms. And did I mention a pool with a view that is to die for - amazing sunsets! It is the perfect place to make your home base when touring Sonoma. Don't miss this gem.
This is one of those places your walk in and say "Wow"! We were five couples celebrating our respective anniversaries, and found exactly what we were looking for. The home was warm, welcoming, and beautifully appointed. I loved there were plenty of private spaces and also plenty of room for gathering as a group. The owner was excellent to work with: All communication was timely, accurate and informative; very helpful in recommending places to go and things to see; and added a lot of personal touches. We made a number of days trips on Segways, zip-lines, horseback riding, wine tasting, and great restaurants. In the end we all agreed, if we had to do it all over we would have spent more time hanging around the house to enjoy the views.
