Nestled in the tree tops of a secluded wooded dune, the house (2001) is a user-friendly 3,000 square ft., two story tree fort-designed family home. Or don't stay home, go exploring and take advantage of the many recreational and cultural opportunities within a 25 mile radius.
Quiet and Private Setting: Beauty at its best - take your pick -- the private sand beach on Lake Michigan that can be explored for miles, or Stony Creek for swimming, fishing and tubing, or wooded sand dune trails for quiet morning or evening walks.
A short downhill walk to the beach and you're ready for a variety of activities -- sunning, running, jogging, sea kayaking, walking, wind surfing, reading, relaxing or watching the children swim in warm Stony Creek -- all pleasant past times.
At the end of the day you can relax on the deck with drinks, cook your dinner on the grill and watch the spectacular sunsets over the lake from your tree fort.
Spacious and Utilitarian Accomodations: The first floor has fully equipped kitchen, counter eating area, wine rack, dining room overlooking lake, living room with stone see through wood burning fireplace, bedroom, reading area, half bath and two sets of sliding glass doors that open to the secluded deck with spacious views reserved for relaxing, grilling, eating and enjoying outdoor fires.

The walk out level, spacious family room has curl around ensemble with pull out sofa designed for gatherings to take advantage of watching Direct TV and movies.
And Much Much More: If you're the fishing type, choose from trout, panfish or salmon fishing in creeks, streams, rivers or Lake Michigan. You can enjoy the commercialized Silver Lake dune scooter scene, or the lazy Stony Lake ambience, visit and explore the coastal towns of Whitehall/Montague, Ludington or Pentwater. Or, you can wander farther afield and explore national forests, enjoy local Casinos or eat at a fine restaurant.
Enjoy your time at 'Dune It Again.'
Thank you for the wonderful lodging that we could rest and relax in! We had a very nice time enjoying the lake, creek, sun and the wonderful fun of staying here!
We just loved the porch swings ... such a great place to enjoy a good book and the out of doors.
Wow, we couldn't have asked for more! We love sand, water, and nature and we were exceedingly pleased to have ALL of that and more.
The "cottage" and deck are so comfortable that we really didn't have to leave to do much of anything -- we just loved relaxing and kicking back.
However, we did explore and found way too many activities and resources for jsut one week ... we'll have to come back!
We had a great experience at the 'Tree House.' The house is secluded, the views are beautiful and the experience is fantatstic. The house was perfect! Clean, and ready to accomodate. When we weren't at the house, we were playing golf or enjoying the beach. Truly a gem in the sand! Definitely will stay again.
Secluded, private setting in a quiet Lake Michigan beach community that is far away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Getting away from it all is no mere boast, it's a reality here. The 'tree house' will appeal to water lovers, sand worshippers, loafers, spiritualists and nature explorers.
The place and surroundings are quite unique and ideal for people and families who want to make their own adventures using all the available local and regional resources from water sports, fishing, golfing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, etc. to cultural events such as arts and craft fairs, garage sales, museums, to fine dining. There are few settings that have a small lake, a creek and private Lake Michigan beach that can be enjoyed and that are all within walking distance.
However, the ambience is also 'laid back' and for those who need the time, place and space to do so, the house is especially designed for resting, refreshing and re-creating personal energy.
Other Activities: dune scooters, charter fishing for salmon
