The property was beautiful, very fun to explore and hike. Our son loved playing at the pond and the creek, and going up to check out the old camp site was very cool. The home was very cozy with plenty of room for large families. The hosts were very helpful and went above and beyond for us when we accidentally left a few items. I can't wait to go back in the future if we find the time!
Perfect relaxation ......great for gathering and still has niches for quiet time and meditation. Linda, the owner, could not have been more accommodating, all amenities in perfect order and super clean. I will recommend friends and family to enjoy this perfect spot far enough, yet close enough to restaurants, farms, charming towns and antique hunting. I will be back for a weekend with my family and friends. Great for mini-retreats and fabulous for "girl's weekend out" to have a glass of wine by the beautiful fireplaces....nothing could be better. If you are looking to have some relaxing family time, this is the place for you! We stayed here for my son's West Point graduation. Even though it was about a 45 minute drive, it was well worth it. After all the activities during the day it was so nice to come home to the peace and quiet. This property is so unique and full of warmth and charm. The views are breathtaking and every morning we had a visit from the deer while we had our coffee by the seating area in front of the window that faces the wooded area in the back. This was of course my favorite spot in the house! All of our family stayed here and there was plenty of room for everyone. Beds were super comfy and the linen was so soft. The owner, Linda, was amazing and made sure that we had all the little extras that we needed for our stay. Thanks for sharing your home with us!
We immensely enjoyed our stay at this beautiful remote getaway. Only an hour and half away from Manhattan but so tranquil and peaceful. The grounds are beautiful and expansive. The home itself is very large and maintained so well. Linda was very accommodating and helpful throughout the entire process of booking our stay and very responsive to last minute questions. We highly recommend this listing.
I had an incredible weekend at this house. Not only is the property huge, but it is nicely kept and super cozy. All of the bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and 4 extra mattresses were left in the master bedroom (which was huge) to accommodate everyone staying in the house. The bathrooms were stocked with toiletries and towels, and there were even little shampoo and body wash bottles that you would find at a hotel!
We cooked every day and night; the kitchen and dining room had mostly all of the supplies we needed to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The owners provided us with everything we could have needed--they even left us bug spray! (which I thought was very sweet) There was a cable TV and wifi in the living room. While we were spent most of our time outdoors on the deck, it was nice to have this luxury.
There are maple trees right in the backyard, which are used to make fresh maple syrup that the owners sell. They gave us a pint bottle as a free sample--we had it on pancakes the second morning and it was absolutely delicious.
Linda, one of the owners, left her phone number in case we needed anything. She was so helpful and welcoming to all of us.
I highly recommend staying in this home. It's perfect for large groups looking for a relaxing get-away vacation. I throughly enjoyed my time here, and plan to return!
We were absolutely blown away the moment we walked into the house. I arrived with my younger brother and his girlfriend and the first thing we did was walk from one end of the house to another, seriously.
The house was in pristine condition, photo ready, and the bathrooms had pretty much everything we needed. They even left us some pretty nice shampoo and towels!
There was plenty of space to prepare food, and we made great use of the deck the entire stay we were there.
Behind the house is a stream, a pond where we went fishing, and some great areas for some light hiking. If you're into some thrills you can go check out the cabins at night, although not recommended...
All in all, we are definitely looking to come back and can't thank our thoughtful hosts enough.
