The House is located inside the Arelauquen Golf & Country Club which boasts the best golf course in Patagonia and the region's most well-appointed polo club. The House sits at the base of Mount Otto, on the shores of the picturesque Lake Gutierrez, just 15 minutes outside the town of San Carlos de Bariloche in the Rio Negro province, the heart of Patagonia. This alpine gem is only 15 minutes from an international airport and only 10 minutes from the Cerro Catedral, South America's largest and most renowned ski resort.
Patagonia is quickly becoming recognized as a top international ski destination. Its May to October ski season complements the winter ski seasons of North America and Europe. Cerro Catedral means Mount Cathedral and is justified by its dramatic summits that resemble the spires of a gothic church.

I believe the energy in Patagonia is one of the best in the world, with blue skies and pristine weather most of the year. I am an architect and have designed the house myself with much attention to detail, views, comfort, light, harmony with the beauty of nature in Bariloche. Less than a year old, it is inserted within natural woods, with a stream crossing the garden, it can be enjoyed in summer as much as in winter as it is a short 15 min drive to the skiing slopes. It has a wonderful heated outdoor gallery with a large barbecue (which can be use as outdoor fireplace) and sitting area, large dinning table, outdoor hot tub with stunning views.
inside, there are 3 big and comfortable bedrooms, with brand new sommiers and comfortable bedding, living areas are very large with high ceilings and huge windows to appreciate the amazing views. people can enjoy doing everything in the company of friends and family due to the open plan architecture of the kitchen, dining room, sitting room and bar areas.

The 6,700-yard Arelauquen Golf Course winds 18 challenging holes through natural surroundings and stunning views of Cerro Catedral, Cerro Otto and the crystal blue waters of Lake Gutiérrez. Designed by golf pro Vicente "Chino" Fernandez, the course is recognized as the best in Patagonia. Chino is the holder of 93 tournament victories around the world and operator of the "Chino Golf" Academy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Arelauquen Polo Grounds feature everything the novice or expert needs to play, including three polo fields, built and maintained by Alejandro Bratto. Also for your enjoyment are a clubhouse, and an international polo school for children and adults.
SKIING AND SNOW SPORTS
Arelauquen Lodge is just 15 minutes from Cerro Catedral, the region's most renowned ski resort. With 39 modern lifts and abundant skiable terrain, this internationally recognized ski resort continuously updates its facilities to provide visitors a modern ski experience. Skiers can explore more than 600 hectares of skiable terrain, divided into 53 marked runs of varying difficulty, with outstanding off-trail skiing also available.
For those more interested in après-ski, the mountain boasts an authentic ski village, replete with rental facilities, bars and restaurants, shops, and all the necessary amenities to enhance your skiing experience.
A nice complement to Cerro Catedral is La Hoya Ski Resort in Esquel. It is located a mere 190 km (85 miles) south of San Carlos de Bariloche; skiers have access to even more skiable terrain.
In addition to traditional downhill skiing, heli-skiing, snowmobiling and snow trekking are also options within the area.
When not skiing or taking advantage of the hotel amenities, guests can enjoy world-class fishing, hunting, kayaking, white-water rafting, horseback riding, mountain biking, and hiking. With its close proximity to the Limay, Manso and Traful rivers, the area is a top destination for fly fisherman. Heli fishing to the Las Bayas, Chico, Chanqueniyén, Pichileufú and Chubut rivers is also popular.
