Born and raised in Ligonier, I love the town and living here.
Ginny Fitzner purchased this house in 2014
We purchased the home with the intention to open Alice's Spring Cottage and to ensure the preservation of the natural spring.
Ligonier and its residents are friendly and warm. Don't be surprised when folks make eye contact and say "hello!"
Peaceful, quiet and clean rental home in a quiet neighborhood. Home is well maintained, roomy and within walking distance of both downtown Ligonier shops and restaurants, as well as, the Giant Eagle and major landmarks. Loved the owners, very responsive, sincere and helpful! Mom and I enjoyed our week long stay!
My parents and my husband and I stayed for a 3-day weekend in Ginny's home to attend a family wedding. We first looked at hotels in the area when we came upon this charming home in Ligonier. We loved it. The home is clean, comfortable and beautiful. Ginny is a very sweet person and very accommodating to our needs. It was a pleasure to be able to meet her and hear about the natural spring and about the home itself. There are two bedrooms and a full bath upstairs. Downstairs was very spacious and nicely decorated. I would recommend staying in the Alice Springs Cottage if you are in the area to anyone. Ligonier is such a charming and interesting town. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming and there are so many great places to see and visit nearby. Thank you Ginny for allowing us to stay and making our visit so comfortable.
This time we invited friends to join us -- there was still plenty of room and they loved the cottage as much as we do. Ginny, as usual, was very accommodating. Everything was clean and comfortable. We made some nice meals (and memories) in the kitchen and on the grill; played soccer in the back yard; and walked to town a few times, too. Perfect for our family of three plus our two friends. (And bonus -- they were installing a dishwasher on the day of our departure! That will be a plus next time.)
This home perfectly met our family's needs and expectations. It was what was promised. Clean, a pretty in-town setting, convenient to all that we wanted to do, a comfortable porch on which to visit, and the welcoming owner right next door, quick to assist when asked. I can not recommend this home enough. So much better than a local hotel or B&B, and much more affordable.
Family of 5 enjoyed spending Memorial Day weekend in this immaculate and well-stocked home in the charming town of Ligonier. While it is advertised as a two bedroom house, the sunroom easily converts into a third bedroom. The front and back porches are perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee and the mountain parks and other attractions are nearby. We will definitely be returning.
Our two-night stay was delightful. The house was simply and thoughtfully furnished, and suited our family of 3 perfectly. We could have walked to the main business district in Ligonier, or to the Fort, though the weather and/or the time never seemed to cooperate with us.
We were never able to connect to the Wifi, but we also never asked the owner for assistance either, since it wasn't that important to us.
Ligonier, the diamond of the Laurel Highlands. Beautiful small town with many things to do in the local area.
