About The Owner

My wife and I live in Pine Bluff, AR and it was our life long dream to own a lake home on Lake Hamilton. We have 2 daughters in Texas, one daughter in England and a son in Little Rock and 9 grandchildren. The family reunites regularly at the home.

The Owner purchased this house in 1998

Why The Owner chose Hot Springs

We chose Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, not only because it is so convenient to Pine Bluff, but also because it is so beautiful and has so many attractions.

What makes this house unique

Just getting in a party barge and riding around the lake looking at the beautiful homes. The shopping is magnificent. If you have never been to a horse race, you're missing a lot of fun. And Garvin Woodland Gardens is a must see. So we enjoy the same amenities that our guests come to Hot Springs for.

Great for a family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 12 adults and one toddler ranging in age from 2 to 92 stayed here for one week. We required a home in which the three great-grandparents would not need to go up or down any stairs. They had bedrooms on the main floor with easy access to the kitchen, eating areas, and living rooms. Best of all was the sunroom from which there were beautiful views of the lake. They spent most of their time in there each day in comfortable chairs and a sofa, and I was able to keep an eye on them if I was cooking in the kitchen. They were able to look down at the lake to see some of us swimming. We cooked all but one meal at the house, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more! We also enjoyed grilling outside. We had two cousins staying at a time share on Central Ave. in Hot Springs, and they joined us each night for dinner. We had plenty of room for everyone by using the card table as well as the main dining table. We used all the beds as well as the day bed, and everyone was very comfortable. The water pressure was great in the shower, and we had plenty of hot water. The neighborhood is quiet, and the lake seemed very quiet and calm as well. It was a easy drive into Hot Springs and to grocery stores. This was our first time renting through Homeaway, and Tom was very easy to work with and responsive to all my questions. It was nice to meet him upon our arrival, and it was good to know that he was available if we needed him, but we did not have any issues during the week which required any assistance. We all felt that staying at the house worked out quite well for all our needs and was a good value. If we were to do this trip again, we would definitely return to this house.

Perfect home for our family reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for one week at the house - we were twelve adults and one toddler ranging in age from 2 to 92. We had looked at every possible listing on the website to find the best match for our needs, and we were extremely satisfied with this house. We have three elderly who can not go up and down stairs nor did they want to be sitting outside in the heat. Everything they needed was on the main floor of the house. The enclosed sun room was ideal for them, and they spent endless hours there looking out at the wonderful lake views and relaxing in the comfortable chairs and sofa. It was also nice that they could look down and see their grandchildren enjoying the lake, and I could keep an eye on them if I was cooking in the kitchen. We cooked all but one meal at the house, and the kitchen had everything we needed...and more. We had two cousins staying at their time share on Central Ave. for the week, and they came for dinner each night. It was nice to fit everyone around the large table and the nearby card table. We used each bed and the day bed, and everyone was very comfortable. The water pressure was great and there was plenty of hot water for everyone. We were happy to see a baby gate in place for the stairs leading down. The neighborhood is quiet, and this part of the lake seemed very quiet and peaceful as well. It was an easy trip into Hot Springs and to the nearby grocery stores. This was my first booking through HomeAway and I found Tom to be very helpful and responsive to my questions. It was nice meeting him upon our arrival, and it was nice to know that he was next door, although we did not have any issues or need to contact him during our stay. We had plenty of space in the house for 13 of us, and we all felt that this was a great value for the rental rate.

Satisfied family

  • 4 of 5

We recently rented a hous on Lake Hamilton, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Our family of 12, ranging in age from 7 to 71 had a wonderful time. The house was comfortable, well stocked, except we did have to buy some toilet tissue and paper towels while we were there. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a lakefront property to spend a few or several days.

Summer Meeting Place

  • 4 of 5

This was our summer meeting place between Mississippi and Kansas! Great place for the older kids and us adults. Tom was extremely helpful, accommodating and knowledgeable! Woke up to awesome views every morning. May need to treat for wasps, but not too much of a nuisance. Kitchen was just right and stores not more than 5 minutes away! My family would stay here again.

Perfect weekend!

  • 5 of 5

My siblings and I had not gotten together for many years and were in search or a property that fit us. We had people traveling from Austin, TX, Waco, TX, Nashville, TN, and even Los Angeles. Arkansas seemed like good middle ground and after searching over the available properties we settled on this one. The combination if price/size/amenities was great and we are very glad we chose this property.

The financials were straight forward and I promptly received the security deposit once things were clears by Tom (the property manager).

There were plenty of rooms and places to sleep to where all of our siblings and their little ones had their own space to themselves. Even with our large group the three bathrooms worked great. Also, the AC was awesome and we were always cool in the house.

Check in was painless and Tom met me to show me around and give me the basic run down.

Since we were such a big group we cooked all our meals at the house which worked out perfect. They have pretty much everything we needed from pot/pans/flatware/cups/blender etc. they even had some spices that came in handy (they just ask you replace something if you use it all). The large dinner table was great and accommodated our whole group so we could enjoy each other company during meals.

The home is directly on lake Hamilton which was great swimming for the kiddos and for relaxing with some cold beer for the adults. I will say the lake is very deep even just off the bank. That being said, we brought floats so it worked perfect. There is a fence with a gate up closer to the home to keep the kiddos away from the water so that calmed the parents worries.

We were a short 10 min drive from downtown Hot Springs were we went to some shops and saw the bath houses. We also went to the Nat'l park where we hiked up the big hill.

The family that came in from LA had about an hour drive from the Little Rock airport since no flights came into the small airport in Hot Springs.

I accidentally left an expensive watch in the room where I stayed and I promptly notified Tom. Tom found it and mailed it back to me without hesitation and paid for the shipping even after I offered to pay.

All in all the stay was ideal and all parties that joined us felt the same. We had a great time and look forward to possibly making this a annual or biannual tradition.

Thanks Tom!
