Overall experience was excellent.
Perfect location for exploring and privacy.
We stayed four nights at the Drift In. It is peaceful, private, and right in the middle of all we wanted to see. The cottage has all the amenities needed and when we spontaneously purchased lobster to cook at home, Debbie provided us with a huge lobster pot and propane burner to cook it outside. My husband walked down to the bay and filled the pot with sea water. It's a bit of a hike up the hill with the water but it made our lobster some of the best we experienced. Debbie and Derrick are just a phone call away and were quick to respond to our questions.
Although private, the cottage is close to the grocery store, pharmacy, bank, gas, and eating establishments. It was an easy day trip to Mahone Bay, Peggy's Cove, Halifax, Lunenburg, and the airport (45 min.) We spent our time as tourists leaving each day and coming back for the evening and were not able to just stay and enjoy the view and peace of the location. It would be the perfect place to read a book and relax but we were too eager to explore Nova Scotia, however, if you your vacation goal was to just disappear and rest this would be the perfect respite.
Great vacation get-away spot. The cottage is lovely and the location is perfect!
The bonfire is a great way to enjoy an evening. We loved visiting the sites & relaxing in the evening at the cottage. Loved it!
Awesome Cottage on the Ocean
The cottage and property it sits on was more than I expected. Our host Debbie was very welcoming and made us feel right at home making herself available for any questions or concerns we might have. The view from the cottage was incredible and the surrounding area is beautiful up and down the coastline. Would highly recommend this rental to anyone who is looking for a great place to relax and enjoy. The amenities are top notch also.
Drift in Cottage
We found our place spotless and well supplied. It was very comfortable and very private. We appreciated being close to a grocery store, liquor store and bank. We enjoyed eating at the Trellis restaurant when we did not feel like cooking. Sitting on the deck or on the chairs by the ocean hearing the waves was awesome. A great holiday spot!!!!
Lovely cottage, wonderful views!
We just got back from a 5 night stay at the Drift In cottage. What a wonderfully magical location. The cottage was clean, well stocked and Debbie and Derrick were very accommodating to any requests that we might have had and just a couple of minutes away.
It was actually unusually hot, but the breezes off of the Bay were lovely and by the time evening came, the cottage was cool and comfortable.
We were disappointed that we could not have a fire as their was a fire ban for the region, but other than that, just an awesome time spent with our family and grand kids.
Hubbards was a cute little village with a couple of nice restaurants and a few shops (ladies there is a "gals only" shop that is well worth a couple of trips). Only about 45 minutes from Halifax and the airport.
We would highly recommend this cottage for couples, families, friends etc. It was awesome.
Thanks again Debbie and Derrick!
