We stayed in John's apartment for 10 days during our trip in NYC. The apartment could seem a bit small at first sight, but it is large enough for all the guests: we were a group of 5 people, and we didn't have any problem. The unit was recently restructured: the appliances and the furniture seemed brand new. The apartment was clean, and we found a set of towels for each of us. Only the interior corridor of the building and the stairs to the apartment (which is on the first floor) were not the best, but this not depend from the owner. Mike, the property manager, met us on arrival, and was very very nice and helpful, and we had the opportunity to also keep the apartment for an additional half-day for a modest additional sum, because our return flight was in the evening, and we did not want to walk around the city with all the suitcases. The apartment is placed in Chinatown, but there are no worries. It is just a few steps far from the subway, Little Italy, WTC, and everything else in the Lower East Side. Our experience was good, and if your are going to visit NYC we suggest this accomodation.
We were the first to rent this refurbished unit. Had new everything; appliances, a/c in all bedrooms, floors, paint, etc. Neighborhood a bit sketchy at first, but never felt unsafe. It IS in Chinatown, if that makes a difference. Very close to downtown, Wall St., 911 Museum/ World Trade Center, Little Italy, Soho, Lower East Side. 10 minute walk to the F train subway station. Mike, the property manager met us on arrival. Overall, I have to give a 'thumbs up.' It was a nice, cool, comfortable place to sleep, which, if you're visiting NYC, is all you really should need it for.
