DO NOT STAY HERE/ THE PHOTOS ARE LOVELY BUT THE HOUSE NEEDS UPGRADING,BEWARE OF HIDDEN FEES

WE SPENT ALMOST 4 MONTHS IN THIS HOUSE/ WHILE THERE WE HAD 2 GAS LEAKS OUSIDE THE MASTER BEDROOM WHERE THE MOTORS WHICH RUN THE EQUIPMENT FOR THE POOL WORK 7 HOURS DAILY[AND ARE VERY NOISY]TOWELS ARE MADE IN INDIA, DISHES ARE CORIAN[PLASTIC],NO DIMMERS ON LIGHTS, 20%OF LIGHTS NEEDED CHANGING AND THERE WERE NONE PROVIDED, NOTES ON HOT WATER TANK AND WASHING MACHINE TO BE CAREFUL, BROKEN THERMOSTAT IN MASTERBATHROOM SHOWER TOOK 6 WEEKS TO REPLACE, TOASTERS BURN BREAD EASILY,BBQ OUTSIDE FILTHY, HOUSE VERY COOL AND DAMP AND NOT SUNNY AT ALL[GOOD TO RENT IN SUMMER NOT WINTER] YOU WILL USE MUCH GAS AND ELECTRICITY TO STAY WARM.....ELECTRICAL WIRING FAULTY - NEEDS TO BE REDONE, FAUX TREES EVERYWHERE LOOK GREAT BUT FULL OF DUST, IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN WINDOWS MOST EVENINGS AS OUTDOOR AROMAS UNBEARABLE[COMPOST HEAP NEARBY] AND CAMPGROUNDS ABOUT 1/2 MILE AWAY WITH COOKING SMELLS, OWNERS WILL RESPOND QUICKLY TO COMPLAINTS AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED ELECTRICAL BILLS FOR THE WATER WHICH IS USED TO CIRCULATE THE POOL AND KEEP THE GRASS GREEN, PLUS ALL GAS AND SOCAL BILLS TOO, WE STATED THAT ONE OF THE TV'S WAS DARKENING AFTER RUNNING A FEW HOURS AND NEVER ASKED FOR A NEW ONE AND 400DOLLARS WAS DEDUCTED FROM OUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. DEFININTELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE AS NOT ONLY IS THE HOUSE POORLY LOCATED AND NOTWITSHTANDING THE NEED TO UPGRADE THESE OWNERS ARE ONLY OUT TO GRAB AS MUCH OF YOUR HUGE SECURITY DEPSOIT AS POSSIBLE. DO NOT DEAL DIRECTLY WITH THE OWNERS - ONLY THROUGH VRBO OR HOME AWAY AS THEY WOULD PROTECT YOU.

Owner's Response: This is our special desert home and we are very selective about who we rent to, if at all – but we made a grave mistake with this person. I hesitate to say how crazy all these comments are as we have never had to deal with someone who enjoys being very negative, miserable, and deceitful, and may have mental health issues like dementia. (She called 911 to report an unpleasant smell in the air from bond fires and campground cooking nearby a few nights, and cursed our Dacor oven because it hurt her fingers to push the up arrow to increase heat), I could go on and on, but not worth the negative energy! The husband is a true gentleman and tries to tone down his wife - although almost impossible. I can only offer my prayer to her. And, if you want to get a true idea of the type of owners we are, you should check out our 83 five-star reviews at www.homeaway.com/179630 please read them, and we have been a member with VRBO/Homeaway/vacation rentals since 2003!
