Equally perfect for a romantic rendezvous, or family adventure this delightful home is nestled on the tranquil cove where Lake Tashmoo meets the sea. Deeded Ocean Beach, Magenta Sunsets, Canoes & Memories included! No wonder we are on the 'Kayak Tour'.
Surrounded by the estate homes of 'Tashmoo West' (an area of celebrities and multi-million dollar homes which can rent bi-weekly for $30,000 and up), this listing is an exceptional value! More petite than the Mega-mansions, this listing enjoys all the amenities along with a spectacular, one-of-a-kind setting with gorgeous water views from almost every room. Walk to the PRIVATE, SANDY, OCEAN BEACH. Next door, beyond historic field-stone walls lies a 70-acre wildlife preserve to explore -- hike or (mountain) bike the trails, swim in the lake directly in front, or swim at 'Chappaquonsett' (deeded private beach on Vineyard Sound bordering celebrities' private beaches). Paddle the boats, peddle the trails, enjoy the variety of fishing holes (or island golf courses), relax on the decks, rejuvenate. . . . . Feel yourself completely at peace . . . . Yet drive only 5 minutes to town for exciting shopping, restaurants, entertainment and nightlife! (For example, a house rented 'up-island' on Martha's Vineyard can take up to an hour to drive to town or the grocery store.) Here -- town is only 5 minutes away.
Walk the gentle wooded path or paddle across the inlet to the ocean (2 canoes included). The children (or you) will have fun exploring for clams, quahogs, and mussels. Create your own Vineyard Clam Chowder or glistening steamers as you take in the amazing view from the kitchen. (See photo of shore dinner harvested by guests, Steve & Fumi) Dine by the cozy fire, or 'al fresco' on the deck. At days end relax by candlelight on the screened porch with a drink and your loved ones while you watch the sun set gently over the water.
. . . . . . .Next day set off on a (moderate) island adventure and paddle your canoes to the village for lunch at the 'Black Dog' Cafe. Or discover the lovely network of bicycle paths to explore around the island.
This home includes two master suites each with queen-sized beds, flat-screen TVs, and private balconies that overlook breathtaking views. Each master suite comes complete with cathedral ceiling and private bath with heated towel warmers. One master suite enjoys a private sun roof. There is also a small double bedroom and 3rd full bathroom on the main floor.
The large, bright kitchen has skylights, water views out to the sea and overlooks the dining room with cozy fireplace. See the ships sail by while you relax in the living room with new flat-screen T.V., DVD, digital cable and wireless internet. French doors open from the living room onto a spacious screened porch with comfortable wicker seating along with a broad outside deck. Hear the call of the osprey by day, bask in magnificent magenta sunsets at dusk, snuggle up by the fireside in the evening, and delight to the twinkling lights of Cape Cod and ocean sounds by night.

Owner: How was your stay? .
Guests: Our stay was fantastic!!! We had 3 days of great weather, explored a new part of the island each day on bikes, and came back to the peaceful serenity of your home.
We were very successful clamers, taking advantage of your perfect location! Photo of clam dinner attached! (See photos). Thank you!!! We really enjoyed a perfect mini-getaway! It was just what we needed.
Owner: May we use some of your nice words in our ad? For our guest book?
Guests: Yes -- It's a Magical Place!
Abby, we had the most spectacular time at your home. What a gem of a spot and wow those views! We felt like we'd found our own slice of heaven. Private, water views, comfy beds, very nicely appointed home, all the kitchen supplies we needed, a lovely deck for lounging, and we could watch the masts of sailboats coming in and out in the distance. A perfect spot for my family. Can't wait to come back!
We truly loved staying at Kuffie's Point Way. We thought it was a well-designed, beautifully situated house. My uncle was an architect and my mother, who visited with us, used to write occasionally about architecture so we were very aware of the design elements. It had everything we needed without being fussy. We loved the location: my husband got up almost every morning to paddle out to the cut and fish from there. I biked from the house to do the Lamberts Cove Road loop. We swam in Rhoda’s Pond every day. The kids went out to the beach where there was no competition for parking. And we hated to go out for dinner because no place on the island has a better sunset view. It was a magical vacation for our family.
We are sad to be home and not on Rhoda’s Pond in your lovely house. We do, however, count ourselves lucky to have had the chance to stay there. So thank you for providing us with the perfect place to stay on the island.
I can't even begin to tell you how nice of a weekend we had at your beautiful house! Every morning I woke up and had to pinch myself because I could just not get over how majestic the view was from my bed. We brought with us a bunch of blow up swans and floated around in the lagoon during the day and in the evening enjoyed grilling with the amazing sunset behind us. Three of us took you up on your suggestion to paddle into town to get groceries, which was an absolute RIOT. You have such an amazing house and we loved every minute of it, so if there is ever a random weekend this summer or fall that it isn't being rented, please let me know! Once again thank you for renting your family home to us, we are forever grateful and had one of the best weekends I think we will have all summer long.

70-acre wildlife preserve adjoins property beyond quaint, field-stone walls. Hike or bike these nature trails. Also explore the lovely network of bicycle paths through the State Forest. Fish the lake or ocean. Witness a broad spectrum of wildlife, from sea hawks and diving cormorants to native deer, otter, swans and wild turkeys. Along the private drive down to Kuffie's Point enjoy several working farms with goats, chicks, cattle, and horses. Paddle the canoes around the bend to see the ships moored in Lake Tashmoo. Spy the steamships as they cross every hour from Wood's Hole. Dig for clams and quahogs at low tide. Swim in the lake or ocean. Enjoy great shell-seeking on the beautiful PRIVATE BEACH. Visit an evening performance (seasonal) at the Outdoor Shakespeare Theater (a 5-minute drive or paddle away). Adventure around the bend at the beach to discover the colorful cliffs of Makonikey or paddle the canoes a gentle distance into town for lunch at the 'Black Dog' Cafe.
