One enters the house into an impressively large entrance hall with stunning views of Tralee Bay . The breath taking kitchen, dining and living room offer dramatic views from every angle across Tralee Bay and The Maharees and Brandon Mountain.
The master-bedroom comes with its own bathroom en-suite (2 sinks, a stand alone shower, bath and toilet) and walk-in wardrobe. There are three additional bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom(Stand alone shower, sink and toilet). Further, the house has a comprehensive utility/laundry room with granite worktops. For those rainy days Tralee offers bowling, movie theaters, Aquadome (water activity - swimming pool and water slides) and Irish cultural shows at Siamsa Tire.
Pick up some local vegetables and fish from the local farmers and Fishermen and cook yourself an amazing meal in this custom built fully equipped kitchen. Should you want to dine out there are local restaurants and pubs within walking distance or drive to Castlegregory, Tralee or Dingle and eat the catch of the day!
These are only a few suggestions for your Irish holiday, my family live nearby and will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
County Kerry (otherwise known as the Kingdom!) is situated in the south west of Ireland, with 3 peninsulas that stretch out into the Atlantic Ocean. It has one of the largest mountain ranges in Ireland with lakes and streams and mile after mile of sandy beach. There is a huge amount to do in Kerry - The Lakes of Killarney, The Geraldine Center, Muckross House.
Many Americans claim their ancestors to be from Kerry as emigration from this area has historically been high. Cead Mile Failte, and welcome home!

I was born and raised on this very land, moved to America in 1992. This property has been in the family for many generations.
The Owner purchased this house in 2011
I wanted to have my own home to come back to when when visiting Ireland and eventually retire here.
My home in Ireland which gives you all the comforts and more of your home in America!
This home away from home is an incredible place to have a beyond comfortable, relaxing and authentic irish vacation. The house is absolutely gorgeous with incredible views of the bay and countryside of Camp. There is a large, open living area with kitchen/dining room that is perfect for a group of people or family to relax and enjoy eating/drinking, enjoying each others company and gazing at the views of the green countryside and bay. The house is located in the village of Camp where you get an authentic Irish village experience. The local pubs are a short 3 minute walk from the house and the rustic beauty of the beach a 10 minute walk away. This location is perfect for those who are wanting to just relax locally (you could stay in the house all day drinking tea and enjoying the view) or someone who is looking for a jumping off point to explore the peninsula- you could drive the loop of the peninsula in a short day or spend weeks getting to know the many villages... The beach offers a quiet, beautiful place to go for long walks and there are hiking opportunities within walking distance if hills and higher peaks is what you're into...either way, nature in all it's forms is just outside the door and the Irish countryside with its village life is here also, you can't go wrong staying at this peaceful retreat in Camp! We had a truly unforgettable trip- highly recommended to anyone
If you are looking to meet locals and get a sense for what it's really like to live in Ireland then this is the house for you. You can read from the other reviews that the pictures don't do the house justice and that's 100% true - every detail is thought out perfectly and you are treated to a 5-star lodging experience. But the best part for us was the proximity to the center of Camp and being able to immerse ourselves in life in a rural Irish village.
One of the best things about traveling to Ireland is getting to interact with its people - to say that they are incredibly warm and welcoming is an understatement. I've been to Ireland several times and always look to stay somewhere were I can have a true local experience -- don't get me wrong, I love Dingle, Killarney, Galway, etc. but many times when I'm in those towns I hear more American accents than Irish ones. To be able to stay close enough to those places to easily visit but to have completely authentic interactions with the locals is priceless. This house gives you all of that AND truly luxurious accommodations - a combination I have yet to find anywhere else in County Kerry.
By the time we left we were treated like family at Ashe's Pub and the Railway Tavern, were invited to attend a pre-Christmas "thank you" dinner for locals at another rural pub, walked the beach below the house and climbed the mountain behind it (with completely inadequate footwear). We even got to experience the outpouring of support from Camp village for a friend who had lost a loved one...there really is not anything quite like a rural Irish funeral.
So if you’re looking for more than a typical Irish vacation, stay in this house. There is absolutely nothing average about the house itself or the experience you will have in Camp. I'm already planning my return visit!
I dream about this house now that I am home. I wish I was still there, reading my book in the window seat, or soaking in the Master Bathroom tub, or curled up on the couch with the lamps on. There are so many lovely spots in the house to relax I had to make sure I tried them all. The house is so beautifully built and well -appointed, you really do feel spoiled. We took care of the house as if it were our own, and I would love to return and spend even more time there. We spent lots of days driving about the beautiful Irish countryside, I think next time I'd spend more time at home, just relaxing. (The beds are very comfortable and clean , clean , clean as well.)
Words cannot adequately describe how stunning this home is in person. Architecturally it is perfectly placed on property overlooking Tralee Bay, with walls of windows overlooking the green landscape rolling down to the water. The interior feels like something out of a home decorating magazine – with dark hardwood floors, beautiful furnishings and fabrics, and muted paint colors. An elegant entry hall leads to a comfortable enclosed study/television room. The kitchen is a gourmet cook’s dream with an impossibly large island, top notch appliances and stocked with every tool and serving piece you could possibly need. The kitchen, dining room and living area share lofty ceilings and oversized windows overlooking the water – great for family gatherings. Off the kitchen is a spacious self contained laundry room with multiple countertops and plenty of space to spread out. We washed all of our clothing for the remainder of our trip prior to leaving. On the ground level, the master suite felt like a luxurious apartment unto itself, with a fantastic ensuite containting shower with multiple jets and ladyslipper soaking bathtub. The master bedroom closet even contained a view of the beautiful Tralee Bay! Upstairs were three additional comfortable bedrooms, one ensuite and the remaining two sharing a beautifully tiled hall bath. The bedrooms contained charming window seats built into the sloping roofline that also afforded views of the bay.
The property was impeccably clean and gated for privacy. A neighboring property shares the driveway but was vacant during our stay. A two minute walk brings you to the local pub where all were friendly and welcoming. The owner left a stack of tourist brochures and her own summary of local restaurants and amenities, which was very handy. She had a friendly caretaker meet us and show us in and out of the property. She even left us a local cell phone to use to call her if needed.
The owner, Mel, is extremely responsive and helpful. We found her only weeks before our stay when another owner cancelled at the last minute. She responded via email very promptly and always stayed in touch throughout the process. She even checked in by email during our stay to make sure our needs were met and we were enjoying our vacation. She is a kind and trustworthy person and manages her rental perfectly. Exactly as you wish to be treated on vacation - no worries! Her home was by far the best part of our trip.
Our family (8 Adults) just spent a memorable week at this beautiful home overlooking Tralee Bay. This house is exquisite in every corner and so comfortable throughout. The pictures on the website do not truly convey the charm, detail or the warmth of this house. Everything you could possibility need for a time away from home including workable hair dryers in every bathroom are provided! The kitchen is fully equipped to prepare any kind of meal and the house is very well designed to enhance both gathering space and privacy. There are plenty of window seats throughout to read a book or enjoy the rural Irish landscape. The location is so convenient too for day trips in and around Kerry along with activities on Dingle itself. Additionally the house is walking distance to two pubs, a Catholic Church and a well provisioned grocery store with a gas station included. Along with the owner of this house we found everyone in the local community welcoming and so helpful with our many questions. After years of travel elsewhere and numerous trips to Ireland a week on Dingle in this house certainly was the very best vacation of all for our family! We will definitely return.
This home is INCREDIBLE! We had high expectations after seeing the photos, but upon entering, we were BLOWN AWAY!
It's perfect for families and couples, and the location couldn't be better for day excursions to Dingle, Killarney, Ring of Kerry, Slea Head and beyond!
Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.
This property is less than 30 miles from 2 PGA golf courses - Ballybunnion and Killarney. Tralee Golf course is 15 miles away. 20 miles from Kerry (KER) airport should you need to fly to Dublin or London.
