In the foothills of Santa Barbara, surrounded on two sides by the 200-acre San Marcos Foothill Preserve, a quiet community exists, where this condo offers stylish ambiance and artful design. On the second floor of a 4-plex, this condominium features 2 Bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms. Outside, there are mountain views from every room, and, a tree-house feel with magnolia, redwood, jacaranda, maple and coastal oaks. Inside, the walls are adorned with original oil paintings depicting California landscapes, ocean scapes and still lives. Clearly, the owners' poetic roots are echoed in the art and design choices in the home.

The Living Room with a gas fireplace is a wonderful inviting room with 2 Italian white leather couches and mountain views. The Dining Room has a table that seats 4-6 people and a sliding glass door opens to the cozy deck with plush seating and clever lighting. Meal preparation will be a delight with a fully equipped Kitchen and the cerulean blue ceiling color that enhances the space with a feeling of endless sky.

The Master Bedroom with king-size Kluft bed features a magnificent magnolia tree with glossy green leaves and bright white flowers that complement the scenic view of low-lying foothills rising to rocky peaks. The attached Master Bathroom has rich granite counters and a polished rock floor – a large walk-in closet completes this nicely appointed Suite.

The sunny second Bedroom with queen-size bed also features views of the foothills and mountains. Just across the hall is the second Full Bathroom with a glass mosaic wall. The community offers a shared pool and coin operated Laundry for guests' use, as well. A covered carport provides designated parking for one car and ample additional visitor parking is available, as well.

A perfect home for a visiting couple, or, a small family, Foothill Vista has an ideal location: positioned between the city and wine country, it is the perfect springboard to enjoying all there is to do in the area. With San Marcos Pass nearby, a quick drive up to the Santa Ynez Valley Wine Country is enticing. Plan a day of wine tasting, glider rides, or hikes on nearby trails. Or, hop in the car for a quick 10-minute drive to downtown Santa Barbara where there are unique shops, interesting galleries and museums and wonderful restaurants to explore. Even local attractions like the Botanic Gardens and the historic Mission are nearby. If you prefer a day without cars, step onto nearby hiking trails that once connected Chumash villages, and hike the five-mile loop through valleys filled with coastal oaks to the viewing point on the ridge with it magnificent vistas of ocean and islands.

Great Vacation Home!

My husband and I booked this house for a weekend getaway with my parents in Santa Barbara. The exterior of the house is relatively normal, but the inside really wow'ed us with nice furniture, open and sun-lit living room/kitchen area, and everything seemed very clean!

My parents stayed in the master bedroom, which has a bathroom inside as well. The other bedroom we stayed in has a decent sized bed, although not much space to put our luggage, it was sufficient.

The nice surprise was the balcony outside of the living room area. It was really nice for us to sit and chat and just relax!

Overall this house is awesome, and if we ever go back to Santa Barbara, we will definitely visit again!

nice place, management co's policies too strict

Policies regarding cancellations and changes to reservation are MUCH MORE RESTRICTIVE than other management companies and bookign services through which I have booked. The size of our party increased and they would not allow us to upgrade to a larger property at all (which was priced higher, so they would have earned more). They said it was the owner's decision to be that strict, but they're the ones that wrote the policies: why would a property management company have policies that strict for the owners to use anyway? Makes no sense. The initial response to my request was curt and scripted. When I asked to have the manager call me about the issue, she was friendly on the phone and her emails were politely and pleasantly written. But they just wouldn't bend the rules. They do seem to have some of the best properties in Santa Barbara, but I won't use them again because of the inflexibility. Nice place, nice pool, very clean, well stocked. Broken toilet handle and clogged tub were fixed immediately upon reporting the issue, but nobody ever called me to tell me that they had checked the wifi which couldn't be found by my devices.

Our first experience with VRBO

We had a great time at this condo. Nicely furnished and easy to get around town. We have been visiting SANTA BARBARA at least once or twice a year for 20 years and this is a far better option than hotels in the area. Spacious and not as expensive. Definitely will be back.

Perfect Location for our long weekend stay

We were in town for a holiday weekend wedding and found the location of our condo to be perfectly located; easy access to two major roadways made it easy to get anywhere we needed to go.

As the pictures depict the rooms are bright with a contemporary feel. The kitchen was well stocked, beds comfy and bathrooms huge (for a condo). The neighborhood is quiet - we really didn't run into anyone while there.

The location is very residential thus restaurants or shopping is not really within walking distance, but easy to get to by car. Downtown Santa Barbara seemed to be the place to be, day or night. Loved Rebar for lunch. Beware, Harry's Plaza and Joe's Cafe (same owners) make strong drinks. Homes around the mission are beautiful to cruise past.

Would definitely return to Foothill Vista.

Beautiful foothill condos

Great property and great location. Can walk to beautiful hiking trails in the foothills. Condo very clean and comfortable. Beautiful bathrooms and high end appliances in kitchen. Really the only negative would areas outside condo such as the pool area. Pretty old dated dirty furniture but condo provides towels to cover chairs. Pool was cloudy first day there and pool cleaner came while we were there And told us not to use the pool. He super shocked it and all was good by day 2 and the rest of the week. Hundreds of birds living under condo roofs and they are quite noisy but we fortunately had brought a white noise machine which helped when sleeping with windows open. Neighbor downstairs very nice! Overall awesome experience and would highly recommend!!

Can't go wrong!

You can't go wrong renting this property in the foothills! The place is newly remodeled and you feel so much at home. It is quiet and perfect for walking or hiking and close to good food and shopping. The owner provides you with a book of information that covers everything, such as things to visit and great restaurants. The owner was great to work with and we will definitely go back and refer it to our friends! Great job to whomever remodeled the property.
