As BEAUTIFUL as this home is, it is a rustic summer cottage! It is also Up North! There will be trees surrounding the house, bugs, and the occasional 'wild-life'! The house runs on a well, so the water may smell funny sometimes too, but no need to worry, RELAX, your on Torch Lake!
We had a FANTASTIC time. The Farmhouse cottage is soooo cute. Very clean and has everything you need. The property is huge. There is a long path to the water that we walked and sang on our way down every day. My kids loved exploring the woods, the beach, so much wildlife. Torch is so beautiful. The owners and managers are so responsive. My child got sick and they got medicine for me!!! Thank you for an amazing stay!!!!
We came up for a long weekend in the fall for my spouses birthday. It was just what a cottage should be. Very cute, decorated nicely, had board games, and old movies, as well as wifi and cable. We noticed they put brand new bathrooms in the house. They also had new beds and a new stove. We just booked again for Summer of 2015. We cannot wait!!!
Thank you Thank you Thank you. That is just what my partner and I needed. Your cottage is so quaint, so well-appointed, just what a cottage in Northern Michigan should be!!! All of the beds were comfy and clean. We sat on the large porch and watched the nature. It was just perfect, just what a cottage should be. There was not a person around us, and so many picturesque scenes to view. We enjoyed the beach and house. Thank you again!!!
Thank you for a perfect stay. We absolutely loved the Farmhouse cottage, we felt everything to be very comfortable and cozy. We LOVED that you had wifi and cable as well. There were so many perfect places to sit outside, enjoy a fire, enjoy a view. The beach was very sandy and beautiful. We loved everything about it. The bathrooms were so clean and new! That was a wonderful surprise in a cottage! Our family enjoyed every part of our Labor Day Holiday!!!!!
The cottage was very rustic, a lot of bugs! The cottage needs some serious updating, especially the furniture. All of the mattresses and couch are completely worn and uncomfortable. The stove is so old, the numbers cannot be seen. Quite a long trek down to the dock, but we did love the fire pits. Landscaping was overgrown, especially the bushes. We had to get the maintenance guy to change out light bulbs & fix the screen on the back door. For the money the owner receives, it certainly could use a facelift! The price on the HomeAway website was wrong, they made us pay $200 more than what was listed!
There's a song with the reference "toes in the water, (bottom) in the sand, not a worry in the world". That perfectly sums up this little piece of heaven! A perfect Up North cottage with privacy, plenty of space, and it's own beach! The boys ran and swam all day and I was able to indulge in my pleasure of cooking gourmet meals in the open kitchen! The sleeping/hanging out screened in porch was perfect at night for the family, and we found the place clean and quaint with the updates needed for an "electronic age" family! It's close enough to restaurants and bars, but miles from any tourist traps! I'd recommend this again and hope to come back next year.
