Unique 2 bedroom, 1.5 bath condo with outdoor patios and an ocean view pool
Tucanes #3 is a great townhouse style condo. This unique property is located within 2 blocks of the beach and 5 blocks to the heart of Playas del Coco.
This fully furnished unit comes with a great kitchen and a propane BBQ on the upper terrace. There is also a spacious main floor patio and garden at the entrance to the unit. The custom hardwood bar is a great place to entertain guests while you cook. Located just off the kitchen is a stacking in-suite laundry unit.
This condo has 2 bedrooms on the upper floor - one with a queen and the other has a double bed. Maximum of 5 people please. (smaller sofa bed in the living room)
Now....it's time to mention the fantastic ocean view pool and deck area. This pool has, by far, one of the best views of any pool in the area. Having said that, to get the view, you must go UP! That means a few flights of stairs. The climb is worth it but we don't want there to be any surprises.
The pool area comes complete with outdoor furniture, a bar with a fridge and counter space to prepare an afternoon snack, an outdoor shower and 2 washrooms. There is also a charcoal BBQ for use by the owners and renters in the complex. This large pool was recently resurfaced and looks awesome. Its depth is great for doing laps or lounging around on floaters.
Imagine capturing the sunset as it sets over the ocean from the pool deck and then sticking around to watch the stars come out in the night sky. New Year's Eve boasts an array of fireworks in all directions and there's no better place to watch all of this than from the Tucanes pool deck.

What makes this Condo unique
Walkable everywhere! The location of this unit is great. You can walk 2 blocks to the beach and 4 blocks to the main part of town. There are 7 restaurants and a grocery store only 3 blocks away.

Loved every minute
We completely enjoyed our stay in Playa del Coco. This unit is located in the perfect spot. It’s not ideal for anyone with mobility issues or small children. The bed was comfortable in the master room. The bathroom is very modern. There is laundry facilities off the kitchen. The front terrace is very private and the rooftop patio is excellent for your morning coffee, breakfast and BBQing dinner. There are lots of different birds in the area. We were often greeted by iguanas on the rooftop as well. The climb up to the pool area meant a lot of steps but the views were amazing. There’s a fridge up there to keep drinks cold and to avoid multiple trips. Nadene and Roland, the owners were amazing to deal with. They were extremely quick to respond. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

Very pleased with accommodations, location and hosts!
Very convenient location - an easy drive from Liberia airport, close to the beach, secure property, far enough away from the main road that it wasn't noisy. Loved the communal pool at the top of the property - we swapped stories with many other travelers. The house was as advertised, well appointed, hosts were helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. We would love to return to this property if it were available.

What a beautiful condo and a wonderful location in Playa del Coco. The unit itself is well appointed with everything you would need to get you started. The A/C offered a wonderful respite from the sometimes toasty days. We spent many nights on the rooftop patio looking out over the ocean and enjoying the BBQ. We spent many days hanging out at the pool which offers amazing views of the bay and surrounding hills. Nadine and Roland were incredibly nice and very helpful on the few occasions when we needed anything or had a question. We pretty much loved every minute of our stay.
Nadene and Roland are extraordinary hosts! Their condo is beautifully decorated and has all the necessities needed for a stay. It is like having a home away from home. The views from the rooftop patio and the pool were exquisite!! There are a lot of stairs to manage to the rooftop patio and pool but with proper planning it is well worth it. Nadene and Roland were very helpful with transportation if needed and recommending places to see. We will definitely be back!!
Excellent Stay at Tucanes 3 from Jan 7 - Feb 5th 2017
We stayed here for 1 month from Jan 7th to Feb 5th, 2017.
The owners, Nadine and Roland were very quick to respond to any question we had. I don’t think you could find a more responsive owner.
The décor of the codo is very tasteful. The place was very clean and the owners have thought of just about everything you would need especially in the kitchen which has a good choice of quality cookware. HD TV and Internet was very good. Washer and dryer are very good. Fridge, although no ice maker, makes ice cubes very quickly. You may want to take extra ice cube trays with you if you are planning on an extended stay.
AC works very well and cools the place off very quickly so no need to run them while you are out. The windows have security bars on them, but open (with screens) for a pretty good breeze inside which is nice. A place that can be cooled off inside without AC is not that easy to find in Coco.
The rooftop terrace was our favorite feature. Great in the AM for coffee and great at night for dining or relaxing in the evening. If stairs are a problem, this would not be a good option for you, but we kind of liked having the 3 levels and the exercise was good for us.
The pool is a shared common pool with both Tucanes and Coco Joya complexes. It is accessible from this unit in Tucanes via a separate long series of stair cases which means you have to leave this Condo to get to it. Once you get there, the view from the pool is fantastic and well worth the long climb. The sunsets there are terrific.
Right choice for our vacation
Summary: We would stay at this location again. The property is nice and very clean.
Playas del Coco is a growing beach community located about 25 minutes from the Liberia International Airport. Populated by foreigners (mostly Canadians and Americans with a few Europeans in the mix) and local Costa Ricans alike, this quaint but happening town offers a variety of bars, restaurants, banks, grocery stores and of course, souvenir shops. Playas del Coco is a great location to use as a base to tour the rest of Costa Rica.
Everything is within walking distance including the 3 km long beach of Playas del Coco. If you like to venture a little further out, there are over 20 beaches within an hour of town. Lots to explore including the Rincon de la Vieja volcano with its assorted tourist venues complete with waterfalls, hot springs, mud baths and more.
Sporting activities in the area include sport fishing, hiking, cycling, diving, snorkelling, bird watching, rafting, surfing and more.
There is an endless choice of activities for those who like to chill out and relax or for those more adventuresome folks who like to get the gear on and take the day by storm!
Playas del Coco is indeed growing with construction of new commercial complexes including the world renowned Hard Rock Cafe.

REFUND: 100% refundable less a $100 administration fee if cancelled within 30 days of the booking. 50% of the deposit will be refunded less a $100 administration fee if cancelled after 30 days. Upon request, if you need to cancel, we can offer you a credit for the full amount to be used within 18 months of the cancellation date.
