About Jennifer Marquette
We have owned this home since 1994 and have created many family memories in this home. We have been visiting Houghton Lake for years prior to our home purchase.
Jennifer Marquette purchased this Cottage in 1994
Why Jennifer Marquette chose Roscommon Township
We purchased this property as a vacation home as well as an investment. Eventually, we may look to retire in the area (if the winter doesn't get to us). The cottage was built somewhere around 1920 - 1930. While remodeling we found signatures on the exterior walls dated 1931 but are unclear whether they were visitors or were christening the house.
What makes this Cottage unique
I love the cottage feel, especially since we remodeled. It is a mix of knotty pine and modern elements. The views from the deck and just the lakefront itself was the main selling point, not to mention the amount of room in the cottage. It is small but handles a fair amount of guests without being overcrowded.

Relaxing by the Water
Overall experience with the property was great. Clean and neat. Will be back for sure !!! The only thing that I would like to see is that that 'beach' would get cleaned up.
Very clean and well kept up. Could use a garbage disposal and dishwasher.
Lake access was awesome, and the views from the deck in the morning were breathtaking
Clean and Cozy!
Nice cottage. Had all the amenities and was clean and well prepared and maintained by owner. Road noise is only issue, but if at the water is ok. We enjoyed the experience overall. Thank You!
Fishing, Boating, Kayaking, Perfect Place
Had a wonderful stay. House was very well appointed with fine amenities, like pillows and towels that I like. Comfortable and roomy with a great location. Quick and easy to get to Bait Store, Golf, Breakfast and DNR lake access. Can walk to True Value Hardware, Party Store and some fine establishments for dinners and drinks.
Outstanding waterfront and views. Nicer slope to lake than most on south lake. Important.
Catching fish off the dock as well as boat. Hottest place on lake to fish was 50 yards in front of house! Boats would drift by all day. You cannot go wrong here. I highly recommend and will look to go back. First time on Houghton lake and it will not be my last.
Thank you for the kind comments. We really appreciate the feedback and are really glad you had a great time.
Great vacation spot. Was just what we were looking for.
Had a great time enjoying the lake and spending time with family and friends. Nice place would love to go back next year. One comment though, there was no broom or dust pan or vacuum left out for us to use had to go buy one.
Comfortable House on the Lake
This house was perfect for our weekend golf getaway. The place was exactly as described and was big enough for the four of us. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this place again!
