We loved it

  • 5 of 5

We really liked that the John and Joy gave us cookies. The house was cozy and well maintained. It was making us feel like we were in a lodge. We were thankful the boats were open to us.The dock was helpful. We are thankful that John and Joy gave us some wood.We were able to make a campfire. It was our first time sleeping in woods. There was barely any motar boats. There were lots of fish. When it was raining we played board games. The gas fireplace kept us warm. The rooms were nice and clean. The guys mostly played pool and table tennis.Half of us were cooking. The rocking chairs were nice to sit in.For some time we played catch. No one felt bored. When someone got hurt there was a band aid to help us.The T.V.'s had lots of channels. There was a lot of privacy. The mosquitoes barely bit us.The outside look made us feel safe.We were sad to leave. We will always have a urge to come back. It was decorated really cute. It was clean and well stocked

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed it. Things were still put away, like the kayaks, and the grill, I got that out anyway, and used it. The cookies were great. The little two year old like all the books and toys. He thought the ping pong game was pretty funny. Had every thing I needed to cook our meals. I was a little nervous with no phone. I guess I should get Verizon. All in all it was great, it reminded me of my mothers house

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

We completely enjoyed our weekend. The cottage was well equipped. The beds were very cozy, the view was very peaceful. We loved the fire pit, we sat out there all day. Several very large bass were caught off of the dock. Overall it was a great weekend. I highly recommend this place.

Birthday Ski Weekend

  • 5 of 5

6 of us traveled 3.5 hours to get to this beautiful property. It was just as nice as the photos online. The Shannons had alot of personal touches to the place. Things that make you smile and know they care about their guests. Like homemade cookies. They literally thought of everything. We went to Boyne mountain on Saturday and Sunday. It was about 20 mins away very easy to get to. They had a collection of dvds, board games and even books available for use:) we didnt get to make use of the lake being that it was winter but it was a beautiful backdrop to our photos on the balcony. Mrs Shannon looked tirelessly for a cell phone that was lost even after the guest ordered a new phone. These people are very kind and do alot to ensure their guests have what they need. My only recommendation would be WiFi as it will help with those who dont have service in that area. Great for any group!

Gaylord house on the lake

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house! It was spacious, yet cozy. It was very clean & very inviting. There were even homemade cookies waiting for us. We moved right in, & everyone was very comfortable.

We loved that the place was loaded with extras like games, & movies. There was even a drawer with pens & paper, & other helpful things you don't usually think about until you need them.

The weather was unusually warm during our trip, but we still got to do most of what we had planned. The drive time was pretty reasonable to get into town.

Overall, we had a wonderful time on our trip, & a lot of that had to do with how great this house was. There was plenty of room for everybody to relax & enjoy themselves, & that made us very happy. We would definitely consider staying at this lovely house again in the future.
