A binder full of local area information is available for guests at our home. There is so much to do and see in Lake Tahoe!
I grew up in the Imperial Valley of Southern California. My husband and I have been married for 33 years, and live in Fairfield, CA. We love Lake Tahoe and visit as often as possible. We are both still working full time, while our two boys finish up going to school. We enjoy our jobs, playing golf, going out with friends, and checking out new places.
Suzy Schneider purchased this house in 2014
I grew up in the desert and fell in love with Lake Tahoe when I saw it for the first time when I was 12 years old. I was moved by its beauty - the cold, crisp, clear blue water - and the freedom that came riding bikes, and exploring through the woods.
We owned a cabin in South Lake Tahoe for about 10 years, and we recently sold it in order to find a new home in North Lake Tahoe which appeals to us much more. North Lake Tahoe has many more options for skiing and golfing, and is not as crowded as South Lake Tahoe. We a very happy that we made the switch.
We looked at several homes around the area, and when we saw this one we knew it was the right one. The neighborhood felt right because the streets were clean and the homes well kept. The contemporary architecture and high ceilings appealed to me. I fell in love with the large windows in the living room and kitchen, which lets in lots of great light and the beautiful views. The previous owners did a wonderful job with upgrades and maintaining the home inside and out. This home has all the necessary comforts to make you feel like home-sweet-home, yet it has a resort type feeling with its clean lines and updated finishes.
The house is very clean and perfect for a large family or two small families. There are lots of tall windows that let in natural light. We especially liked the patio areas, spa, modern bathrooms, and indoor laundry. The kids liked playing in the open backyard that's fenced too. There's an upper loft above the living room area with a ladder that was kinda in the way- but can be removed. We would definitely stay again if visiting the north Tahoe area.
This house was in great shape and the owner was very responsive to all of my questions. This exceeded our expectations.
We absolutely loved the openness of the living room, with the large, gorgeous windows. The neighborhood was quiet & felt safe. Suzy was a great hostess and was very accommodating to our needs. We would love to return someday.
An amazing stay! Such gorgeous views and a great location. A home away from home. The house was clean and easy to find and everything you'd want in a rental home!
We watched some of the Olympics on a large flat screen in living room. Beds were comfortable, laundry facilities came in handy and were easy to use. Did not have time to use the hot tub, there were too many other things to do and see around the lake, it did look inviting. We would highly recommend renting this cosey home if you are planning on visiting North Lake Tahoe.
From the moment we drove up we were impressed. Upon entering the home you feel a sense of welcoming, relaxing and peaceful type of tranquillity. We felt at home. They have everything our family needed and more.
Whether it was a game night, relaxing in the hot tub or drinking coffee on the porch, we enjoyed every minute. Thank you so much for opening your home.
We just returned from a week at this wonderful house in Agate Bay. We have been renting in Agate Bay for years and this is by far, the nicest house we have stayed in. The front deck is great for unwinding after a day at the lake. The back yard has a hot tub and is beautifully landscaped. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to dine in ....but is also within a few minutes of great restaurants if you would rather dine out. After staying at lots of different houses over the years, we were most impressed with all the windows and natural light and with the spa like bathrooms. This is a great house for a family who wants a little luxury at the lake.
Agate Bay is the most desirable neighborhood within Carnelian Bay. The home is located on a quiet street, with courteous neighbors. Family and dog friendly area. Short walk from home to: Carnelian Beach (dog friendly), Gar Woods Restaurant, Waterman's Landing, 7-11, CB's Pizza, Sierra Boat Marina, Magic Carpet Golf Center. Bikes area available for trail rides and exploring. Kayak and paddle board rentals available at Waterman's Landing.
The home is located between two popular tourist cities of Kings Beach and Tahoe City - both with lots of shopping and restaurants. It is nice to go to these busy spots, but then return home to the peaceful neighborhood of Agate Bay.
Hiking and biking opportunities are all around. Check out the trail guide books at home so you can map out your day.
Must see areas are:
Emerald Bay (South shore) and hike down toward Vikingsholm, or up toward Eagle Falls.
Sand Harbor (North East shore) - great sandy beach with white sand and turquoise water. This normally is the warmest water on the lake and best area for swimming.
Crystal Bay / Kings Beach- Para-sailing out over clear blue Lake Tahoe provides a birds eye view of this gorgeous body of water.
World class ski resorts are nearby. Alpine & Squaw Valley are 13 miles away, and Northstar Resort is 11 miles away. The quaint town of Truckee, CA is 15 miles.
Golf courses nearby are: Brockway GC, Tahoe City GC, Incline Village, Squaw Valley, Schaffer's Mill, Old Greenwood, Gray's Crossing, Coyote Moon, and Clear Creek Tahoe.
No matter what activity you choose, you will be able to unwind in the hot tub after your fun.
