About Suzy Schneider

I grew up in the Imperial Valley of Southern California. My husband and I have been married for 34 years, and live in Fairfield, CA. We are both still working full time and try to get to Lake Tahoe as often as possible. We enjoy playing golf, working around our home, going out with friends, and checking out new places.

Suzy Schneider purchased this house in 2014

Why Suzy Schneider chose Carnelian Bay

I grew up in the dry, hot desert and fell in love with Lake Tahoe when I saw it for the first time when I was 12 years old. I was moved by its beauty - the trees and the clean & clear blue water. I loved the freedom that came with exploring around the Lake and through the woods as a child.

My husband and I wanted a second home within a couple hours driving distance from our primary residence and we knew that Lake Tahoe was the place! We owned a small cabin in South Lake Tahoe for 10 years, and sold it in order to find a new home in North Lake Tahoe with more amenities. We think North Lake Tahoe is prettier and less crowded, and has many more options for skiing and golf. We are very happy that we made the switch.

What makes this house unique

We looked at several homes around the area, and when we saw this one we knew it was the right one. The neighborhood felt right because the streets were clean & wide, and the homes well kept. The contemporary architecture and high ceilings appealed to me. I fell in love with the large windows in the living room and kitchen, which lets in lots of great light and the beautiful views. The previous owners did a wonderful job with upgrades and maintaining the home inside and out. This home has all the necessary comforts to make you feel like home-sweet-home, yet it has a resort type feeling with its clean lines and updated finishes.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The house is very clean and perfect for a large family or two small families. There are lots of tall windows that let in natural light. We especially liked the patio areas, spa, modern bathrooms, and indoor laundry. The kids liked playing in the open backyard that's fenced too. There's an upper loft above the living room area with a ladder that was kinda in the way- but can be removed. We would definitely stay again if visiting the north Tahoe area.

Perfect house located near the lake and a very short drive up to Northstar. Highly recommend!!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway for the family! House was equipped with everything that you need to fully enjoy your stay. It was a very short drive up to Northstar Ski Resort from the house. Hot tub was awesome to soak in after a long day on the slopes. Our entire group enjoyed your home and we hope to visit again in the future, thank you!

  • 5 of 5

This home was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy a week of skiing with a few friends. The whole house was clean and all the amenities were as advertised. We especially appreciated all the items for cooking. A special thanks to Suzy for answering all our questions and promptly responding to our inquiries. She certainly helped make the stay even better. Would recommend to all.

Perfect stay in Tahoe!

  • 5 of 5

Suzy's house was perfect for our stay. The pictures on the site show how nice her house is, but you don't realize just how inviting her home is until you see it yourself. Check-in and check-out were super easy and allowed us to maximize our time.

As far as location, it's situated just a few blocks from Lake Tahoe itself! It was wonderful to take a walk around the lake and soak in the mountains while feeling like you're still in the woods. There are a handful of restaurants nearby as well as a Safeway a few miles down, which Suzy conveniently shared with us ahead of time. This made it super easy for us to settle in for the weekend.

Her house itself was the perfect size for 6 of us and felt cozy, yet roomy for everyone. The kitchen and living space were perfectly equipped for us to make and eat meals, as well as spend some time playing games (which she has a couple available at the house!). The fireplace made it extra cozy and perfect for the winter time. The bedrooms were incredibly comfortable and the extra icing on top was the hot tub, which was a nice treat at the end of a long day of snowboarding/skiing.

Would highly recommend staying at Suzy, and would definitely stay here again. Thanks so much for having us!

Great house!

The pictures don’t do the house! It’s so well kept, nice and spacious, and as a big yard. Well stocked with towels, spices and anything else you could need. Suzy is very nice and responsive as well.

Great family vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

We spent our first Christmas away from our east coast home, and this was the perfect spot to do it. My husband and I and our two twenty-something daughters couldn't have been more comfortable. We enjoyed skiing at Northstar and Heavenly, sight-seeing and shopping, and eating holiday meals at the house. The kitchen was well equipped - we did a cheese fondue one night and a roast and yorkshire pudding another - and probably our favorite perk was cozying up in front of the gas fire. We are wood devotees at home, but coming in after skiing and turning that fireplace on to have heat in no time was fantastic! Oh, and the hot tub was great too, with plenty of towels and even robes available. Comfy beds and soft sheets. Terrific, responsive hosts.
