Ekahi 5A is one of three Ekahi units owned by two families from the Seattle area. The Russell and Imler families both have been visiting Wailea Ekahi Village for more than a decade. Over the years our families have explored many resort areas on Maui, as well as those on other Islands. In the end, we always found ourselves coming back to Ekahi. We purchased Ekahi 5A in October 2010, Ekahi 1C in December of 2013, and Ekahi 5D in December 2015. We are especially committed to having the most well stocked unit at Ekahi. Our guests will enjoy nothing but top quality when it comes to linens, kitchen supplies, beach gear, baby gear, electronics etc.. We’ve tried to think of everything so that you can focus on relaxing and enjoying your time in paradise. Our goal is to offer an experience that will encourage you to return and stay with us again. Great condo with all amenities!

This is the 3rd time we have returned to Ekahi 5A, because it is the best! Very roomy for only 2 of us, close to the main pool and our favorite beach. There were a couple of small issues the first few days, but owners Mike and John are always quick to respond. We unfortunately had noisy neighbors upstairs in 5D this time, so might try staying in that unit on our next trip (same owners and floor plan).

This is a very nice unit with everything you need to make your stay very comfortable. Great location, beach and pool. We picked the best place for our 35th wedding anniversey getaway!

Tranquility in Paradise

Our condo was a spacious, clean, comfortable and well laid out with all the basic provisions needed for even an extended vacation. The ambience of the unit and the beautiful gardens do induce a feeling of peace and relaxation.

We will definitely be making this a regular vacation spot,

Awesome stay!

Aloha! We've stayed in Ekahi Village many times and this unit is by far our favorite. The location is a 5 minute walk to Keawakapu Beach (our favorite swimming beach in Maui). The condo was super clean and thoughtfully stocked. We were skeptical of staying in a ground unit at first. The vacationers above us did let their toddler run wild early in the morning (the only negative). The major plus was the porch door entry made it easy to unload groceries and beach gear. The Tommy Bahama beach chairs are great! We typically BBQ at the main pavilion (there's a enormous charcoal grill and full kitchen) and the roller cart made that a breeze. We decided to extend our stay three nights and the owners accommodated us seamlessly. We moved upstairs to their other amazing unit. Renting both would be a great option for a larger family. We'll definitely be back next year. Mahalo!!!

Wonderful, refreshing and relaxing.

What a great place to stay. We have been going to Maui for over 25 years and stayed in many different condos, but this condo met every expectation. It was a good experience from the beginning with booking to the end with the deposit being returned promptly. The condo has everything you need, from utensils, towels, pool toys nothing was lacking. It also seems like it is a condo that you pay forward, I noticed it was stocked with coffee, toilet paper, garbage sacks, coffee filters and even spices and steak sauces. So we did the same and paid it forward with what we used and what we did not need we left behind for the next guest. I loved the view and the pool on the beach was amazing. It is a short walk from the condo to the beach and to the Wailea shopping center. The Andaz is next door so you can walk to happy hour. The owners John and Mike were wonderful to deal with. We will be back because, those who refresh others will be refreshed and blessed. Ekahi 5A was a great blessing to us.

Great location but pictures better than reality

Pros: Very close to Keawakapu Beach, which is a gorgeous, fine sand beach. Can walk to Ulua Beach which has amazing snorkeling. Ekahi Village has a nice tropical feel with lush and beautiful landscaping. Swimming pool and lounge area is close by, clean, and secluded.

Cons: Unit is more dated and worn than pictures. Don't expect property to be as remodeled as the pictures let on. We found ants in the kitchen, which the owners blamed on the humidity. Other tenants didn't have ants. Found experience to be more like staying in a cabin than a nice hotel.

Owner's Response: We are really not sure how to respond to this review. We have owned this unit for 6 years and have never had a single review of less than 4 stars (out of 70 total reviews to date). In terms of the photos, they were taken only 2 months prior to this guest's arrival and accurately represent the unit and its condition. In Maui’s tropical climate, ants (tiny, harmless “ghost ants”) can appear – particularly if food is left out. This is not unique to 5A and we have posted a note in all of our units encouraging our guests to put food away and keep counters clear of crumbs etc.. When this guest mentioned that he had seen some ants, we had our cleaning person go to the unit to take care of the problem - after which the guest informed us that the issue was resolved. Ekahi 5A is either #1 or #2 in total number of reviews among Ekahi units listed on VRBO (over 150 listings). More than half of our guests are repeat guests. We hope prospective guests will recognize that this review is an extreme outlier. Mahalo
