About John Russell & Mike Imler

Ekahi 5A is one of three Ekahi units owned by two families from the Seattle area. The Russell and Imler families both have been visiting Wailea Ekahi Village for more than a decade. Over the years our families have explored many resort areas on Maui, as well as those on other Islands. In the end, we always found ourselves coming back to Ekahi. We purchased Ekahi 5A in October 2010, Ekahi 1C in December of 2013, and Ekahi 5D in December 2015. We are especially committed to having the most well stocked unit at Ekahi. Our guests will enjoy nothing but top quality when it comes to linens, kitchen supplies, beach gear, baby gear, electronics etc.. We’ve tried to think of everything so that you can focus on relaxing and enjoying your time in paradise. Our goal is to offer an experience that will encourage you to return and stay with us again. Great unit at Ekahi for a couple or a small family!

5A is a great ground-floor unit in Ekahi. Ekahi is by far our favourite place to stay. Everything is walk-able and it has a great pool, grounds, beach access. The unit is quite close to the pool/beach and has everything a family could need for a vacation - beach equipment, well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, internet, keyless entry, etc.

The owner is very responsive to all communications and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. We have rented from them before and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

Your own piece of paradise

My wife and I spent 10 nights here and we loved it. The unit itself it outfitted very nicely, with all the amenities to make your stay a great one, and its proximity to the pool and the beach is an added bonus.

The condo makes for a great home base in your island adventures. The bed is very comfortable, the bathrooms are fully stocked, the kitchen has anything you need to make dinner at home, and the even supply Tommy Bahama beach chairs (once we discovered the usefulness of the chairs a few years ago, we'd never be without them, and it's nice that the owners provide them).

This was our second time staying at Ekahi, and we love it. The pool is very nice, and the property sits in front of Keawakapu Beach, which is a great beach for walking, swimming, and snorkeling. Our last full day of the trip we didn't leave the premises until dinner, when we walked down the beach to Humble Market Kitchin, one of Chef Roy's restaurants located in the Marriott.

Working with the property owners was super easy. They are very hospitable, and it's obvious they take a lot of pride in making their guests feel welcome.

I think the best way to review a rental property is to answer the question "Would you rent here again?" To that we say "Definitely! How soon can we return?!"

Excellent location and well maintained

My family and I had a wonderful time at this property. It is well maintained, clean and perfectly located. The beach is a short hop away. It is one of the nicest beach we have seen on Maui. Not too crowded, nice snorkelling spot in the morning and boogie board in the afternoon.

The owners are very thoughtful, take good care of the property. A few nice attentions include a cooler bag (very useful to bring lunch), shampoo in all bathrooms and quick response to any inquiry. I've rented three houses on two islands during my trip and this was the best.

Lovely property for a family vacation

We just got back from a 10 day stay in Maui in 5A. John and Mike were prompt with all responses and gave wonderful tips for vacationing. I was with my 4 year old son and in-laws, and everyone had more than enough room. There were plenty of beach supplies and sand toys for my son, and there was a handy wagon that we brought down to the beach every day! My only knock would be that the big sleeper couch was a bit uncomfortable, but the new ottoman pull-out was extremely comfortable. The beds, bathrooms, and kitchen were all clean and had everything we needed, and the laundry machine was quite useful! We felt relaxed the entire time and didn't want to leave! We look forward to coming back soon.
