Nice cabin in the woods! Beautiful view of Lake Stinson and mountain foliage.
Great experience! This cabin was easily accessible and close to many mountain experiences. With Polar Caves and “Trail Heads”, we still had plenty of time to visit Lincoln and North Conway over the weekend. The cabin was rustic, quiet, cozy, and the owner was very accommodating and gracious. Awesome fire pit, and access to the owners canoe and kayaks. We will definitely visit again.
Calm ideal for families
Great time at a great place
Was a great place to stay for quiet and relaxation.
beautiful cabin near a beautiful lake, remote and rustic
This cabin is beautiful and rustic, located near ... but not on ... a beautiful lake. Let us be clear. When you are in this cabin you are alone. In the three days that we were there, we did not see a soul except for Bob, the brother of the owner, who stopped by a few times. There is no cell phone reception, no internet service and no telephone. Many people may find this ideal...even romantic. If you are one of them...this place is for you. Other cabins are a 5-10 min drive away and the village about 15-20 minutes. I personally was unnerved by the isolation and rented a satellite telephone for emergency. We needed it once late at night when we couldn't find the key (our fault) and we had to call Bob to come and let us in to the cabin.
The cabin itself was wonderful with lots of creature comforts including a modern appointed kitchen and a modern, clean bathoom There were two seperate bedrooms and a futon in the living room. There is lots of room and plenty of comfortable places to sit and relax. There was a good, working dvd player..but bring your own dvd's. The bookcases are well stocked with paperbacks and a nice collection of children's books. There is a really nice and large screened in porch in which we sat and watched a beautiful thunderstorm, listening to the sound of the rain beating down on the roof.
There is a semi private "beach" which is abt a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the cabin. It is not much of a beach since the ground is quite rocky and on a steep slope. Getting from the "beach" to the water is challenging and don't try it without flipflops or something on your feet. It does, however, have a nice little pier with an assortment of rowboats and canoes. There was a lot of rain while we were there and the rowboats had water in them so we didn't use them. Swimming was great with a small pier and a nice size roped off area with a raft in the middle. There is also a small sitting area with a little table and a sunshade umbrella.
Bob couldn't have been nicer...but reaching him is tricky without a phone or email. I used my satellite phone and had no problem.
All in all, we had a very good time and the best part was being alone with each other in a very peaceful place.
This place was so beautiful, my family and had sp much fun staying there for a week. The lake was beautiful and clean and the scenery was breathtaking. I didn't wanna leave one week is not enough time, everyone there is so kind and helpful. Thank you to the owner and his family they are very helpful and kind. Definitely going back id give 10 🌟 if i could.
Dog friendly cabin
Loved this little cabin in the woods. Clean and well equipped (except DVD player did not have a remote so you could not set up or watch special features. A minor problem and may have already been replaced). The view of the lake was very nice and the lawn furniture provided was comfortable. The beach access was not as convenient as expected as you had to walk or drive down a side road to reach it. The lake itself is crystal clear and although we didn’t use it ourselves (one of our dogs had just had surgery and couldn’t get wet) we enjoyed listening to everyone else having fun. We would certainly recommend this cabin and hope to come here again in the future!
