Great place to relax!
Everything about this place lived up to our expectations and more. The cottage was beautifully furnished and comfortable. It is very were stocked with everything you need. All kinds of room with the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. The swimming pool and hot tub which are located just across the road, are very well maintained. Although the swimming pool is not heated in February, the pool heater was turned on in March and we were able to use it after a couple of weeks. It was still cool, but usable. We enjoyed the screened in porch almost every night. Having a golf cart available was a great convenience. The beach is just a couple of minutes away by golf cart. Teresa, the property manager for the cottage was very easy to get in touch with and responsive to our questions. We are definitely planning another trip.
Thanks for everything!
Nancy and Tom
Thank you Nancy and Tom, glad y'all enjoyed!
Quiet area with quick access to the beach. Plenty of space, nicely furnished, well equipped kithen.
Even though weather was well below normal most of my 5 weeks, I still loved my time there. Teresa responded quickly to my questions and provided a hotel room one night when the power was out. It was a huge blessing, but I was really happy to get back to the cottage next morning.
Although I was alone most of the time, family members spent time at the cottage as well. Over the 5 weeks, children, great-grandchildren, one brother and my 86 year old Mother visited. By the way, she loved it! We rode the Mobile Bay Ferry from Fort Morgan to Dauphin Island and back. On the return ride, she, my brother and I climbed to the upper deck where we ooo'd and aaa'd over the beautiful sunset.
The great-grandchildren enjoyed riding around in the golf carts and riding their bicycles when they visited. I preferred taking walks over to and down the beach, but we were very happy for use of the golf carts to get the children there and back.
A couple of restaurants and little markets are very close, but Gulf Shores is only a 15 minute drive when you want more choices. My family enjoyed cooking up Royal Reds in a seafood boil and on the grill right at the cottage several times.
We visited and learned more about Fort's Morgan and Gains importance during the Civil War. Pensacola is a short drive if you're looking for more military history. Nice shopping in Pensacola and in Foley too. Some days, I just sat out on the screened in porch, enjoyed the sunshine and listened to the surf.
I was sad when it was time to leave and will certainly look here for another trip to the beach!
Shoot the Moon at the Rookery
The cottage was wonderful! The location was close to the beach and we had two golf carts available for our use. This is a family friendly property with a clean, well maintained pool and hot tub, both very close to our cottage. The property was quiet and very safe. There are beach umbrellas and chairs for use and a charcoal grill which we used. There is internet access and television. Board games were available for use, however pieces are missing so we would recommend bringing your own. Fort Morgan and the ferry are less than five miles down the road. Safe to walk/jog around the area. The property manager was helpful and readily available. We had a wonderful time and hope to return to this property!
This is our favorite place to stay...we come back every year!
The location is perfect for the pool. Home is great for children with bunks, xbox, and golf cart. Best ever. Owner is great to work with.
Very relaxing vacation!!!!!
House was very clean and had everything we needed for stay. Loved the two golf carts, fire pit and BBQ grill. Just steps away from pool and the beach was not too crowded and easy access with golf carts. Most relaxing trip I have had to beach in a long time😃
One note: If you plan to hang out around pool or fire pit at night wear bugspray. The mosquitoes will carry you off!!!!!
Also nearest store that doesn't cost and arm and a leg is 14 miles away(Dollar General). Sassy Bass market is .5 mile away but their prices are sky high!!!!!!
Really hope we can stay here again next summer🌴😎😎🌴
It had everything we needed
This was a stand alone house and it was clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you would need. All the towels and linens were there as promised. Two full bathrooms, so the kids shared one and we had our own off the master bedroom. We had two golf carts to use for going to the beach, which was not far at all. The pool was a salt water pool, not chlorine. There was a hot tub. The house had a grill, which the grates were a little rusty, we laid down foil. It was great to grill seafood when we wanted to. The Sassy Bass was a convenient grocery store just a half mile down the road. It took about 30 minutes on average to get to Gulf Shores...but I liked the relative seclusion. We used the washer/dryer a few times, so we were not packing clothes for the whole week.
We got hit with tropical storm Cindy while we were there, so we only swam in the Gulf once but it didn't really matter with a pool at our disposal.
It was in the 80-90's most days with 80% humidity and the house A/C held up great.
Fort Morgan and Bon Secour Park were within easy driving distance and I enjoyed both. We saw dolphins off the beach by Fort Morgan and watched a fisherman reel in a shark.
There were tv's and cable but we did not really watch too much. The kids played the xbox. There was a selection of board games as well.
Way better than a hotel and I would stay again.
Theresa gave me all the info I needed to find and get in the house.
