Conveniently located about 2 hour drive from the metro Detroit area in the rural vacation area Thumb of Michigan on Saginaw Bay. A great place to relax and disconnect from your busy life. Lots of things to do in the area or just spend the day at the beach. Close to The Farm Restaurant. Lots of things to do nearby. Great pizza at the Oak Beach Party Store.....very close to the famous "No one Beats Walt's Meat!"
Owner/Broker of Thumb Realty, LLC. Originally from Pt. Austin. Grew up on a local farm moved away and came back about a dozen years ago. I can tell you about all the local attractions! Or once you visit and love the area, I can help you find a cottage to purchase at your closer up North.
Brian M Wahl purchased this cottage in 2014
Modern, clean, well maintained on the beach. Halfway between Caseville and Port Austin in the Oak Beach area. Relaxed yet only a couple hour drive from the Metro Detroit area. Why fight the I-75 traffic?
This unit offers central air and is available year around. Cozy cathedral ceilings all wood interior, European style bathroom, loft with a circular stair.
This property was beautiful with a view of the lake each morning. The beach is fabulous, very clean and soft, white sand. Very clean cabin, all appliances worked and Brian is there to assist with anything that you need. This is the 2nd year that we have stayed there and would stay there again. Convenient location to shopping and many things to do in Port Austin and Caseville. We loved it!
This was our second year staying at these cabins and we plan to go back next year. The cabins are great but the best part is being able to walk right down to the beach with our young children. We also enjoyed being able to cook/grill all of our food! Also, Brian is very kind and accommodating! Thanks again for another great time, Brian!
We rented cabin 7 for the weekend. Property was very clean and well maintained. The cabin is steps away from the beach. Very nice beach area. We spent most of our time in the water!
We spent some time in the village of Port Austin. I highly recommend the kayak trip to Turnip Rock (Port Austin Kayaks). Port Austin also had a farmer's market on our weekend there.
Overall a very enjoyable weekend with my family!
Beautiful view right on the water. Will definitely be back.
Golf, mini-golf, horseback riding, boating, fishing, kayak rental, fine dining, hiking, biking all available in the local area. Fall colors fabulous as well.
