About Patti Orr
We enjoy an active lifestyle balancing work and adventure. We love water sports or walking on the beach
Patti Orr purchased this House in 2015
Why Patti Orr chose Laie
We enjoy vacationing in Laie and chose to to purchase this home on historic Laie Point. The beaches are a perfect blend for us. Laie has the right blend of slow paced living, is centered on traditional family values, has convenient shopping, and friendly people.
What makes this House unique
The house is removed from the street for privacy. We retreat to our tropical home and let the worries fade with the setting sun.

Great experience for our family! Had everything we needed.
February 2018 stay in Paradise
We had a great time staying at this place. The view from the back of the house was the best,
especially in the morning. Sunrises were gorgeous. We loved that the house was right on the Ocean and no road in between. There were a few issues with the house, but they took care of them right away. Front door light didn't work but they came and replaced it. Because of the rainy season and flat roof, we had some leaks but they sent someone out to fix it. Also had a few cock roaches in the house, they came and put some chemicals in the cabinets right away. It was close to walking distance of stores and the beach was right down the road. WE had 4 couples and one single staying there. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. There was no air conditioner, but had fans in all the rooms and windows that could be open. We were there during the raining season so we had to be careful with leaving windows open. The house is on the north end of the island away from the hustle bustle of Honolulu. We had three rental cars so we drove to all of our daily excursions. The drive way is tight so that was a little cumbersome.
But over all our vacation was good. How can it go wrong in Hawaii!!!!!
Don’t do it!
The pictures are seriously embellished. The house is old, window screens are filthy and full of dead flies (really disgusting when cooking), roof leaked during rain, fridge was dirty, cupboards were dirty, washer and dryer are old and left grease stains on all of our light coloured clothes. Several ruined items! On top of that the machines are dirty and smelly. Recycling was overflowing when we arrived and remained overflowing the entire stay. Pantry was dirty, garbage can was filthy. We saved a long time to give our kids and grandkids a wonderful holiday and they ruined it for us,. When we called to report the leaky roof, the owner's response was “bummer”. Her son told us this is an ongoing problem. It appears that the owners simply rake in money from rentals and put nothing at all back into upgrading the house. We had a carpenter and electrician in our family with us who were equally horrified at the state of the house. They also do not tell you that from the master bedroom there are two exits but both go through another bedroom to enter or exit. The bathtubs are old and dirty. Everyone refused to use them and had to only use the showers. Ok for adults but clean bathtubs would have been nice for the kids. This rental cost was very expensive in CND funds and not nearly what we expected. I could cry and did shed plenty of tears over this. Also, there were no TV channels. You could hook up to your Netflix account except our CND login doesn’t work in the US and we could not set up a US Netflix account because our credit cards had CND addresses which they would not accept. A complete money grab,
I received your review yesterday and attempted to phone and talk through the concerns. I left a message but did not hear back. As I shared in my phone message, our goal is for guests to enjoy their time and be comfortable in the house.
During your stay, when you phoned me to report the leak, the first word I said was “bummer” but it was not all that I said. I meant only to express my frustration that the previous repair had not been sufficient. My son dispatched as we spoke to attend to the issue.
I am sad to hear the extent of your displeasure. If we had known about any of those other items, we could have remedied them at the time and perhaps your experience would have been different.
Please note that if I were motivated by “money grabbing” I would have charged your group for full replacement of the broken $2,000 antique bed frame, rather than the $50 charge for repairing the split wood. We had to replace a set of lamps. I have the receipt. We did our best to keep damage repair costs to a minimum.
The pictures on the listing are accurate to the house and its furnishings.
We replaced the dryer immediately when we discovered the issue after your departure. It is no longer in the house. We did not know that you had been affected. The TV channels do indeed work. Again, if we had known we could have assisted in navigating the smart TV.
The design of the house necessitates the passage mentioned, yet it locks on each side which divides the rooms and ensures privacy. The master bedroom at the rear of the house enters from the top of the brown stairs without needing to travel through any other bedroom. As previous guests have taken advantage of the passage as a shortcut for rolling suitcases into the far bedroom, we left it open.
The house is not new construction, it is not advertised as new construction. It recently had substantial renovations to update the kitchen, bedrooms and living areas. The original bathrooms are scheduled for remodel in April.
The maids try to be thorough and given remarks from other guests, they do a great job. We could have remedied your concerns at the time. After your departure maids patiently removed armloads of packaging. The packages were evidence of successful shopping which we hope gave some joy to your time in Hawaii. The maids also removed the frisbee from behind the couch and cleaned off football shaped marks from the interior of the windows.
May future trips elsewhere be more pleasant for you.
Amazing view. Easy access to the beach. Beautiful home.
We had a wonderful time. The location was perfect for what we had planned on our trip. We had a fabulous time. The only recommendation I would make is to heat the little inside pool to make it a hot tub!
We were a party of 10 and this house was perfect for us. The view was spectacular and we couldn't have been any closer to the ocean!! We loved sitting on the lanai watching the sun come up every morning and having our coffee. WE had great views from most of the house!!! The street was quiet, not much traffic and over all a great home. Patti was quick to get back to me any time I had questions prior to our arrival. Patti's husband Eric came down and met us the day we arrived and answered a few questions about the house and showed us around....gave us a few tips of things to do as well.....they couldn't have been any nicer. We rented paddle boards from her son who was very gracious and asked if we had any questions about the area or things to do, places to eat etc.....we enjoyed meeting him and talking to him about the island.
We toured the entire Island and explored daily.....did a private boat charter with Wild Side Specialty Tours which was FABULOUS!!! We took a helicopter tour out of Turtle Bay Resort which was also fabulous and everyone loved the Polynesian Cultural Centre. We mostly dined at food trucks and local joints and had some of the best meals EVER!!!
The only complaint that a couple people in our party had was the house only came with one set of towels per person....we managed and just washed them daily.....we told them "you're in paradise, relax"
So if you are a larger group and want to be away from the Honolulu traffic this is the perfect house!! LOVED IT!!! Mahalo Patti, for allowing us to share your home!!
This place was amazing. Absolutely best location on Oahu. Also, place was perfectly clean and the hosts live just two houses down, so you have all your space but they are at your beck and call if need be. My only hesitation with a recommendation is that I kinda wanna keep it a secret so it's easier for me to book again...
We are located less than one mile from the Polynesian Cultrual Center, rated the #1 tourist attraction on Oahu. Hukilau Market Place is a step back into old Hawaii charm. Local restaurants offer casual dining. Zip lining is now available in Kahuku, 3 miles away. We offer to rent surfboards, SUP, kayaks.

This house hugs the hillside and has many steps both inside and out. We anticipate that adults will be watchful of young children. The ocean is not accessible from the property. Local beach access for the neighborhood is 100 meters from the house.
