This beautiful ski-in, ski-out condo has three bedrooms and three baths, a fully equipped kitchen, gas fireplace (instant on), large living area, and a washer & dryer. Located on the third floor of Base Camp One Condominiums (with elevator) at Granby Ranch Ski Resort (formerly SolVista Ski/Golf Resort), this upscale condo boasts beautiful furniture, 4 flat screen TVs (one in every bedroom plus the living area), wireless Internet, and an elevator right out the front door. We also provide a landline, since cell phones are not too dependable in the mountains. All calls within the continental US are free. The condo has a 10 foot by 30 foot covered balcony that faces the ski mountain, providing an upclose view of the lift, mountain, and skiers. In the summer, we leave the French doors open, and the deck is like another room. The deck has a table that seats 6, two chairs with footrests, and a gas grill to provide the perfect location to enjoy the gorgeous weather! The condo has a full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave and a table that seats eight. In addition, all conveniences of a "home" kitchen are included--electric mixer, crockpot, coffee pot, wine opener, etc. The three bathrooms all have a bathtub or shower. The main ski lift is about 50 steps from the condo, with an 18 hole golf course just 3 minutes away for summer fun. We are only about 25 minutes the Winter Park Ski area. A heated garage parking space comes with the rental, as well as a ski locker. A heated outdoor pool and hot tub are available during ski season and from June through August each year. The condo is located about 10 minutes from Lake Granby, about 20 minutes from Shadow Mountain Lake, and about 25 minutes from Grand Lake. The Fraser River runs by the Granby Ranch property. All of these water features provide regular and fly fishing in warm weather and ice fishing in the winter. In the summer, the Granby Ranch Resort operates the ski lift every Friday through Sunday, with every other chair equipped to carry bicycles up the mountain, providing opportunities for hiking and biking. Biking is also available in the Winter Park Ski area as well. The kitchen in our condo has a blender, crock pot, mixer, coffee pot, pans, and dishes to make meal preparation easy! In addition, great restaurants are very close. Brickhouse 40 in Granby, Tabernash Tavern in Tabernash, and Deno's in the Winter Park Ski area are all terrific! This condo can be your 'home away from home' while visiting the Granby Ranch Resort!

In the winter, renters can get any needed ski/snowboard equipment right at Granby Ranch. Then ski at Granby Ranch and participate in night skiing on specific weekends during ski season. Five minutes away from the condo by car is a great supermarket, City Market, with a Starbucks. In the same shopping center is a liquor store, a McDonald's, and a Subway. About fifty feet from the condo is the Granby Ranch Resort lift ticket sales office, bar, and cafe--The Granby Ranch Grille. In the winter, the Grille is open, and the food is terrific! In the summer, the Grille is usually open Thursday through Sunday! During mud season, the Grille and the swimming pool are closed.

Winter Park is about 20 minutes away by car, providing another prime ski location with a variety of restaurants. We love Deno's, but there are plenty of good choices. Also in Winter Park is Idlewild Spirits, a local establishment that makes its own liquor. Drinks there are phenomenal, and the food is great, too! Sit at the bar to watch some amazing bartenders make fabulous drinks.

In Granby, Brickhouse 40 is an amazing restaurant with steak, seafood, and pasta! The scenery is absolutely stunning, with mountain views all around. In the winter, after a busy morning of skiing, renters can sit on the deck with a drink of choice and watch the skiers come down the mountain. The Granby Ranch ski mountain is very kid-friendly but also provides some challenging runs. Our grandkids learned to ski at the Granby Ranch Ski School. In the summer, renters can enjoy the cool mid-day temperatures by sitting out on the deck and people-watch as folks go up the mountain on the lifts to bike or hike. When ready for some exercise, renters can go up the lift, which is usually open Thursday through Sunday, to hike the mountain and enjoy nature and the gorgeous views.

We have a big, extended family, and when we are together, we love to play games. We have several board games as well as puzzles. In addition, we have purchased a card table that can be put up to house the games and puzzles!

This condo has three bedrooms. The master has a king bed with a new Serta pillow top mattress (March 2016) with a bathroom having double sinks, a tub, and a shower. The second bedroom has a full bed with a single trundle and a single bunkbed with a bath having a full tub/shower combination. The third bedroom has a king bed. Its bathroom has an oversized shower. All bedrooms have closets, with the master bedroom with a walk-in closet. The loveseat in the living room has a pull-out full bed.

Our condo is big enough to afford a family or friends some privacy. Our Granby Getaway provides an upscale atmosphere and vacation experience for the discerning traveler. Base Camp One Condominiums has a great room on the first floor with a huge fireplace, books, couches, games, and TV for family and friends staying in different units to gather, or to provide another location for folks to 'hang out.' Free WiFi is available in the Great Room, just as it is in our condo. By the way, not all condos in Base Camp One provide free WiFi. We each have to provide it individually. Outside under the porch of the Condominiums on the ground floor mountain-side are outdoor grills for residents and guests to use as well as a fire pit, where a fire is usually burning in the winter months. If it is not lit, then families can fire it up, unless there is a burn ban in effect. You can buy firewood at the local supermarket. It's a perfect place for s'mores!

Within 4 miles of the condo is an emergency room and hospital! There is also a day clinic located at the hospital. We have had to visit before because of various ailments and have always found the clinic to be professionally run with helpful staff. The City Market Grocery Store located close to the condo has a pharmacy as well, so convenience is the name of the game--again!

A location to visit in the summer is Grand Lake, a beautiful town located on Grand Lake! The downtown (one long street!) has several interesting shops, including places to buy local art. Our favorite is Jackstraw Art; Marjorie Cranston owns the shop and is the artist. The artwork over the couch is a Cranston! Two ice cream shops are located in the downtown strip. A beautiful waterfall is located behind the downtown area. It is pretty well marked, but locals can help families find it. It provides about a 20 minute walk, and is not difficult! The view is worth it!

Also located just off the "main drag" is the Rapids Cafe, which is a part of an inn. Try to make time to eat outside by the rapids--really beautiful! The sound of the rushing water ad the beauty of the birds looking for fish make the food taste even better!

This condo's location is perfect to enjoy the beauty of Colorado without giving up the luxuries of home. Our family loves to visit our Granby Getaway, and we have worked to make it comfortable as well as beautiful. We come to our condo as often as we can, but when we are not here, we welcome families and vacationers to enjoy our little piece of heaven. Come and relax, renew, and revitalize your appreciation for nature and beauty! You will not be disappointed!

About Deborah Cron

My husband and I purchased our Base Camp One condo in the spring of 2011 as our second home because Colorado provides great respite from the Texas heat! I worked as a public school administrator but am now retired, and my husband is a college professor. The mountains provide us with peace, relaxation, and an opportunity to de-compress from our work lives. We work hard and sometimes we play hard. We both wanted a second home that would allow us to relax and 'get away from it all,' while providing opportunities to play hard! We also wanted a place so that our children and grandchildren could gather and enjoy the beauty of Colorado. Being together at the condo gives us time to enjoy each other and participate in great, fun activities together!

The minute that we get into the condo, we can feel the difference in our stress level. We simply can breathe better here! The awesome beauty of the area begins to erase the worries, and we take time to notice the sunsets, the color of the trees, and the kindness of our neighbors. At home, we never seem to have the time to work a puzzle or sit on the balcony and just talk, but at our Granby Getaway, we make the time to be together--looking for wildlife, listening to the grandkids play, enjoying wine and conversation while watching the stars.

We love our Granby Getaway and know that other families will enjoy the quiet, majestic beauty of the Colorado mountains, lakes, and rivers!

Why Deborah Cron chose Granby

We wanted a second home where our children and grandchildren could all be comfortable. This three bedroom three bath provides space for everyone, while the three TVs mean that the older grandchildren can watch one program, while the younger children can view another one!

What makes this condo unique

The fact that our condo is right on the mountain was a necessity for us. We wanted the convenience of ski in-out and walk in-out and simply love it! Some people want houses, and there are plenty of those around Granby Ranch. We already had a house back in Texas; we wanted to spend our time as a family skiing and enjoying each other--not taking skis and equipment back and forth to the car. Our location provides that for families and for us!

Another unique benefit of staying at our Granby Getaway is that it is truly our second home--not just a rental property that we own. You will see art that we enjoy, a full-stocked kitchen (except for the food!) because we enjoy cooking, comfortable beds because we stay there with our family, and a remarkable balcony with a table and six chairs, two lounge chairs, and a grill--because we love the beauty of the outdoors!

In addition, we have been frustrated by the cell service in Granby, and as a result, have our own Internet at the condo along with a landline. You can call anywhere in the US free and thus, don't have to rely on the sometimes spotty cell service.

Why is our property unique? Because we love it and treat it as our second home. We hope that you will choose to stay with us and experience the joy and beauty of Colorado!

Notes:
We have cable on all four flat screen TVs, and also have wireless Internet available in the unit. The unit may be wheelchair accessible, but we simply don't know what width the doors need to be to allow access. None of the bathrooms have tubs or showers that are wheelchair accessible. The pool and hot tub are accessed with a pool pass that is included with rental.

We loved this condo! We were there in the summer and there were bike races on the ski slopes right outside our back patio, very fun to sit on the patio and watch!! Lovely place, definitely hoping to go back in the winter and stay again!

SUMMER: This beautiful condo is located at Granby Ranch Ski Resort at the base of the mountain. In the summer, from Friday through Sunday, the lift runs, with every other chair available for bicycles. A golf course is 3 minutes from the condo. It's just 25 minutes from Grand Lake, the largest natural lake in Colorado, and Fraser River, where trout fishing is popular. Lake Granby is just 15 minutes away, and Shadow Mountain Lake is 20 minutes by car. Although the condo has a full kitchen, guests will find a variety of restaurants in Granby, Tabernash, and Winter Park. During the ski season and summer, Granby Ranch operates a restaurant and ski/bike rental shop less than 60 steps from our condo. Less that 1 mile from the condo is a great supermarket with a Starbucks. A liquor store is in the same shopping center.

WINTER: This gorgeous condo is located at the base of Granby Ranch Ski Resort looking out on the ski mountain. Just walk out, put on your skis, and get in line for the lift! Base Camp One Condominiums has a beautifully appointed community room on the first floor available for all its guests with games, TV, and a huge fireplace. The Granby Ranch Grill and Club House is about 50 steps away from the entrance to the condo with a full bar and cafe.

In the summer, our family likes to climb the Granby Ranch mountain, a great workout and super view. For those not interested in all that climbing, the chair lifts run on summer weekends, and individuals can take the lift up the mountain and then walk down or take the lift down.

We have a 30 foot balcony overlooking the ski mountain, so when we have had a day of skiing, we can sit out on the balcony and watch the grandchildren ski--a great way to relax and enjoy the beauty of winter.

We usually cook several times during our stays--the kitchen has everything that a cook needs to create a great meal--except the food! We also go out to eat at the Granby Grill several times--it is so convenient--walk out the condo doors and you are there!

We also love to eat at some of the local places. Tabernash Tavern in Tabernash is probably our favorite! It is right on Highway 40 and can be packed, so call for reservations or go early! The food is always great! A trip to Devil's Thumb Ranch, about 20 minutes' away, is another treat. The casual restaurant is called Heck's, and the chef will delight you! Devil's Thumb is very beautiful, and Heck's has great appetizers! This resort also has a high-end restaurant for special occasions, and it is a real treat!

In the summer, we like to drive into the Rocky Mountain Forest and view the wildlife. We take the Ridge Road over to Estes Park, about an 1 1/2 drive, but you will need longer because the views are breath-taking, and you will want to stop and witness the beauty first-hand. Estes Park is a great town to visit and shop. Then return home to the quiet of our condo. It is a perfect world!
