About the property

3 bedroom, 2 Bath, Panoramic 360 Degree Ocean Views And Steps Onto Beach

Welcome to the Field Station, one of the premier locations in the state for wildlife observation and enjoyment of some of the most protected beach dunes New England has to offer. Situated toward the northern tip of Plymouth's Long Beach, the Field Station offers easy access to a gorgeous, natural area teeming with birds, shells, fish and more. Long Beach is a natural phenomenon, a 3 mile barrier beach stretching out into Cape Cod Bay accessible only by a small neck that connects to the mainland. Home to roughly 15 houses over the three mile stretch, with limited public access and reachable only by 4 wheel drive vehicle, our property will provide a vacation experience that will be hard to match and even harder to forget.

The Field Station has been outfitted with all the finest amenities for your stay. Upon arrival you will find a large deck facing across Plymouth Bay towards downtown. This spot offers great views of the historic town and the bustling harbor as boats cruise past your ‘back yard’. At night you can sit on this deck and listen to the distant sounds of live music being played on the downtown waterfront. Before we head inside, let’s take a moment to discuss the real reason you are here, the location.

Home to several rare and protected species of birds, including the Piping Plover, Plymouth Beach provides a unique opportunity to view these birds in their natural habitat. Programs run throughout the summer to educate and promote the preservation of the species native to the area. In the spring and fall Plymouth Beach is an important migratory stopover for thousands of shorebirds. If you are interested in learning more about the wildlife of Plymouth Beach, please visit ''.

To the east you have a private path through the dunes and onto Plymouth Beach. Here you will find large swaths of open sand and tidal pools. The gradual entry is the perfect spot for both kids and adults to cool off in the summer.

To the west, as you face back towards the town is Plymouth Bay, where you will find our private mooring that comes with your rental. If you have boat or a kayak, please bring it along. With the calm waters of the bay side and the more varied waters of the ocean side, the location provides waters to suit all levels of kayaking skills. The mooring is also suitable for power or sail boats. You can keep your boat safe and protected during your stay and easily accessible for fishing or cruising. We do not provide a skiff to get to the mooring. However, an inexpensive inflatable or a quick dip will get you to the mooring easily. Plymouth Beach offers some of the finest fishing on the South Shore for striped bass, bluefish, flounder, fluke and more. Any of these fish can be caught from shore or boat. If you are considering bringing your boat, let us know and we can provide further details.

Entering the home you will find an open floor plan, perfect for casual family dining. The kitchen features granite tops and a gas range. The dining area can sit six comfortably and a gas log fireplace provides both ambiance and some warmth to take the chill off ocean breezes. Off the corner of the kitchen is a common bathroom complete with custom tile shower. Past this bath is the first bedroom. With views of the dunes and a full-sized antique bedstead with modern mattress(perfect for a couple or two kids) the bedroom is great for someone who needs first floor living. Adjacent to this bedroom is the second sleeping area with a comfortable day bed and trundle underneath. This is the perfect spot for the kids.. Off this study is one of the large decks facing Cape Cod Bay. With stunning views of the dunes and the ocean beyond, this area is perfect for your morning coffee or an afternoon siesta! A gas grill and seating for six make it the perfect spot for dining al fresco.

Head upstairs on the spiral staircase and you will find yourself in a large family room area. With a comfortable couch as well as a desk, this is a great spot to relax with your travelling companions. A west-facing deck again provides great views of Plymouth Harbor and lots of afternoon sun along with amazing sunsets. Off the east end you will find yet another oversized deck! This one faces the Atlantic and the profile of the entire Cape on a clear day. Experience sunrises that will take your breath away. With decks on all levels and facing all directions you will never have a problem finding or escaping the sun or the breeze, depending on your preference.

Off the living area is the master bedroom with a queen-sized bed. Adjacent to the bedroom is the second bathroom, also with a custom tile shower.

The Field Station is truly the best of the South Shore. Designed to blend the best nature has to offer with the most comfortable amenities, all with relaxation and comfort in mind. Come visit us and see for yourself why this destination is absolutely unforgettable.

Perfect vacation by the sea

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from a few days at this lovely property. The views were amazing, the home very comfortable, and the time just flew by. We felt that we were on our own little private piece of paradise. You can see water views from pretty much every window in the house, and we enjoyed spending time on all four decks. It was fun to watch the boats go by, listen to the birds, and walk the beach. If you enjoy a peaceful time by the sea, this is the place for you.

Lovely and Peaceful

Amazing location...lovely place, artsy/folksy decor.

The Ocean is 100 years east and the Bay 30 yards west.

Will stay again when we come back to the area.

Waterviews all around

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house for an October wedding weekend. The house is nicely furnished and very comfortable. We didn't spend much time on the beach because of the time of year but the views were truly spectacular.

P.S. Access road is very bumpy so a 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary

Clean, well-cared for, great beach access

  • 5 of 5

Great house with beach and harbor access; clean and well-kept with responsive and friendly property management. Off the grid, but modern amenities. Great beach for shellfish, tide pools and bird-watching. Harbor can be a bit noisy - but great boat-watching and spectacular sunrises and sunsets - both over the water!!
