About Benn Batterson

I was born and raised in Potter County. After meeting my wife and graduating from college we moved back to the area. The previous owner of Valley Vista of 35 years is a dear friend. After he decided to move closer to family and milder climates we were offered the Lodge to make our own memories.

We currently live and raise our family on a sheep farm in Potter County. We strive to provide a childhood of years gone past for our three children

Benn Batterson purchased this lodge in 2015

Why Benn Batterson chose Pennsylvania

We purchased this property as our retirement home. We had looked at building a home with a similar view but Valley Vista came on the market and we loved the location and layout. The privacy and quiet provides a peaceful setting

What makes this lodge unique

The gorgeous views both from the tower and lodge porch make Vista unique. Anything from stars to sunsets and wildlife in between. The Lodge sits on top of a ridge bordering 250,000 acres of State Forest with hiking trails and old roads to explore.

Notes:
You will be visiting a Lodge that was established in the early 1970s. The Lodge in previous years provided guided hunting and outdoor activities to sports. Over time the Lodge has been updated completely with Central Air and Knotty Pine interior. An observation tower was also built to enjoy even greater views. We have added a 12x12 Concrete Telescope Pad.

Amazing cabin amazing views amazing hosts!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin with amazing views from the 'tower' deck. Benn and Thankful are the most gracious hosts. Only regret is that we had to go home too soon.

Valley Vista Lodge mountain bike vacation

  • 5 of 5

Everything was very nice and a great place to stay! The view is awesome and the observation tower with patio like setting on top to view the stars (full moon while we were there!) was a real nice bonus and the host was very accommodating! It was very quiet and a great place to ride our mountain bikes around the area! Can recommend this place to go!

Peaceful Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This is our 3rd visit to the Vista and already planning for next year. The home is well equipped and very comfortable. The views from the property are spectacular with plenty of wildlife to be seen. Lots of deer, turkey and even a bear. While the weather did not cooperate this week for star gazing, there was still plenty to do. Many State Parks close by and the fishing at Lyman Run was good. Looking forward to going back!

Remote & Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This little cabin is not much to look at on the outside, but is bright, spacious, & clean on the inside. The kitchen has all the essentials & the covered porch is an added plus. The views are amazing and the trails nearby are level & pretty. We saw a bear cub, deer, and countless birds & butterfliies. The observation deck was great for open air eating & star gazing. All in all - this was a fabulous place to stay.
