This cozy home is only 4 miles from Cripple Creek with drive accessing paved road.
The main level bedroom has a king bed, while the lofted second bedroom has twin beds. There is also a hide a bed downstairs. The living room has a wood burning stove and opens to the kitchen and dining area. There is also a sun/TV room.
The large deck has space to relax and dine with a gas grill and wood burning stove. There is plenty of parking. Look for deer that like to bed down in the juniper bushes outside the door.
Enjoy the Cripple Creek casinos, museums, restaurants, live entertainment and festivals.
This wonderful home offers comfort and access to all the great outdoor activities nearby. Whether you want to go mountain climbing, fishing, off road riding, biking, hiking, horseback riding, skiing or snowshoeing, this is the place!
We retired to our home state of Colorado after 27 years in the military. Since our retirement we have been foster parents, a Colorado State Park Ranger, a real estate agent and self employed. We enjoy traveling and seeing new places.
Julia & Dennis purchased this house in 2014
Mac's Place provided us with a place that allows us to explore the many attractions that the back side of Pike's Peak has to offer. We also enjoy the entertainment that Cripple Creek offers and hotel stays became rather boring.
If you enjoy visiting many attractions of Cripple Creek, then Mac's Place provides a place with quick access without a hotel stay. If you like fishing, hiking, antiquing, then Mac's Place is a great place to base your adventures from.
Absolutely awesome accommodations. Will recommend to all we know. Thanks for the memories.
Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. We were very comfortable and enjoyed the beautiful view!
Overall the cabin is nice and cozy! We did have one problem with a sliding patio door falling inward once it was open. Upper glide was missing. Should be a easy fix, which the owner said they would address! Other then that, it was a great place and a convenient location. They had it well stocked and the gas BBQ worked out great! I will stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay here! Although the house is situated right off the main highway, there are no other houses close by so you have a feeling of peaceful isolation. Since it is directly off the highway, there is easy access into Cripple Creek for shopping, casinos, etc., which are all just minutes away. The house is furnished nicely with everything you need (great TV!) and even though we did not really cook much, the kitchen was appointed with most everything you would need to do so. Groceries or any other supplies needed are readily available at the store just down the road on the outskirts of Cripple Creek. The deck was a great place to sit and enjoy the beautiful cool mornings and watch the hummingbirds at the feeder.
The only downsides to this lovely cabin are the very small bathroom and the lack of cell signal/WiFi. There were only three of us so the bathroom was manageable, but had there been more, it might have been a problem. We knew there would be no WiFi, but we did not have cell signal in the house either. We could get a signal and WiFi in town so it was not a problem, but anyone needing phone access should be aware.
We are already looking forward to our next trip back to enjoy the beautiful, cool, mountain scenery! It was a great relaxing get away from our horrible Texas heat! Thanks for having us!
We loved our stay at Mac's place. Great location to get to anywhere in the area you may want to go and minutes from Cripple Creek. The scenery is beautiful. Wild life a thrill, be sure to feed the hummingbirds while you are there. Keep an eye open for the deer. We were blessed to see a doe with twin fawns walk right by. The cabin is pleasant and relaxing. The king size bed was most comfortable. You will definately enjoy your stay. We hope to be back.
The cabin is located far enough from the small tourist/scenic town of Cripple Creek. The cabin conveniently had everything we needed! We really enjoyed the fire pit in the back patio as we enjoyed the mountain view from the top of hill! We also utilized the wood stove which was convenient stocked with plenty of fire wood The owners were very nice and respected our privacy and did not bother us for anything at all. I would especially like to thank the owner for the Military discount! Serving in the Military is an honor/privilege so nothing is expected but when people like the owners here offer a discount it's very appreciated! I recommend this place for everyone and hopefully I can return some day! Thank you!
